Today, the final hearing in True Mother’s trial concluded at the Seoul Central District Court. We are deeply aware that members across the globe—despite differences in language and time zones—have accompanied this moment with heartfelt prayer and devotion. With this in mind, we wish to share what took place today.
The Special Prosecutor presented its final opinion, requesting a five‑year sentence for the alleged violation of the Political Funds Act and an eight‑year sentence for the remaining charges, amounting to a combined request for thirteen years’ imprisonment.
It must be remembered that this recommendation represents only the prosecution’s position; it is neither the court’s ruling nor is the court obliged to accept it. In their closing argument, True Mother’s defense team once again underscored that there is no evidence she directly instructed, authorized, or knowingly engaged in any wrongdoing, and they challenged the credibility of the prosecution’s key evidence.
Beloved members,
No one has been more deeply shaken by today’s recommendation than True Mother herself. For one who has lived her entire life in sacrifice and service for humanity, this is how the world has answered her devotion.
The pain True Mother is enduring reaches far beyond the prosecution’s recommendation itself. The deeper sorrow lies in the reality that, despite being True Parents, the world still does not fully know or recognize them for who they are. For the standing of True Parents is not something they establish by themselves; rather, it is revealed in tangible ways through Blessed Families around the world.
Therefore, the stature of True Parents is embodied in the value of Blessed Families. As we live lives of integrity and bring goodness to those around us, the stature of True Parents is likewise elevated. What we, as Blessed Families, can offer True Mother now—in the wake of the deep wound this recommendation has surely caused her—is nothing other than the work of rightly establishing that stature. When Blessed Families are recognized before the world as exemplary members of society, the world will, in turn, come to see and value True Mother anew.
At this moment, the only ones who can truly comfort and strengthen True Mother are we, her children who know her heart. We alone must stand as her unwavering support. We cannot afford to dwell on grief, indignation, or sorrow; instead, we must transform these emotions into the strength that deepens our unity and fosters peace.
We earnestly ask all members across the world to join with one heart and one purpose, offering even greater devotion and prayer for True Mother’s vindication and release.
True Mother’s final opinion statement
I have devoted my entire life to serving heaven and realizing one peaceful family for humanity. I do not covet power through money. As the leader of the Family Federation, I deeply apologize for unintentionally causing controversy in many areas.
I have spent my entire life traveling around the world emphasizing that in realizing a world of peace through the True Family Movement, we must attend to Heaven. However, I am so heartbroken that the person I trusted and entrusted everything to ended up like today.
Even now, bloody fights and wars are taking place all over the world, and I cry out. Let’s worship the sky. I have appealed to all the countries that serve Heaven to unite as brother nations at this time when they can serve Heavenly Parent on earth and achieve Heavenly Parent’s dream of creating heaven on earth.
I believe. Heaven is alive. Heaven will surely make your dreams come true on earth. The second and third generations of Unification Church members who can take charge of this work are heading out into the world as true children of Heavenly Parent.
Centering on this April 2025, I have created an environment to make the Creator Heavenly Parent’s dream come true on earth. I am grateful and grateful. Now that it has taken root, all it has to do is thrive. I believe that the long-awaited world of peace for humanity and one family of people attending Heavenly Parent will definitely be achieved.
I will continue to move toward that goal, wherever it may be, until the end of my life. I will pray that the people of this country, blessed by Heavenly Parent, will become a country that fulfills its responsibilities as a country of chosen people, like a second Israel.
I repeat, such an unpleasant incident like today cannot happen.
