Theme: Commit to safeguarding one’s integrity and purity as preparation for the Blessing.
On Saturday, October 24th, the Il Shim – Pure Love Commitment Ceremony was hosted at the national headquarters of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Over 50 attendees gathered as 29 young participants—including teenagers and university students, accompanied by their parents and guardians—officially made their commitment.
The ceremony was hosted by second-generation couple Araceli and David, assistants in the Family Department, who opened the event with a prayer and words of welcome.
Mrs. Esperanza Gómez, President of FFWPU Argentina, delivered the keynote address. Afterwards, a moving testimony was shared by Johanna Ochoa and Luis Esparza—leaders of Sunghwa (secondary school youth) and instructors of Tong-Il Moo-Do—who reflected on their personal preparation for the Blessing during their youth.
The youth were then called forward to recite their Pledge of Purity, followed by a pledge from parents and guardians promising to guide and uphold them in bringing joy to Hanul Pumonim (Heavenly Parent) and the True Parents. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of purity rings and the signing of the pledge.
The occasion was honored by the presence of several distinguished leaders:
- Miguel Werner, Leader of UPF Argentina, and his wife Alba Luz
- Emanuel Sayavedra, Leader of HJ Academy for Latin America
- Mrs. Donizete Dourado, Director of the Family Department, who shared an encouraging message of hope with the youth
To wrap up the formal program, several parents offered heartfelt reflections. The ceremony concluded with a closing prayer, enthusiastic cheers of Eog Mansei led by the youth, and light refreshments to celebrate a memorable day of joy, unity, and fraternity.
