On August 29 and 30, 2026, various commemorative, spiritual, fraternal, and sports activities were held across the Democratic Republic of the Congo to mark the 14th Anniversary of the Cheonju Seonghwa of True Father Sun Myung Moon. The celebrations featured Pledge services organized in various local churches and missions, as well as the final match of the Sun Moon Peace Cup in Kinshasa following the summer youth camp.
On Saturday, August 29, Pledge services and commemorative gatherings took place simultaneously across several provinces. A total of 18 locations were recorded, with a cumulative attendance of 1,012 participants from sites that submitted figures. Celebrations took place at the National Headquarters in Kinshasa/Limete, as well as in N’Sele-Maluku, Misabanga and Kindu (Maniema), Beni, Butembo and Goma (North Kivu), Durba and Isiro (Haut-Uele), Kisangani (Tshopo), Kalemie (Tanganyika), Bunia (Ituri), Kananga (Central Kasaï), Matadi, Muanda, and Mbanza-Ngungu (Kongo Central), Lubumbashi (Haut-Katanga), Kwango, Kikwit, and Kolwezi.
Attendance Highlights
- Kinshasa/Limete (National HQ): 230 participants
- N’Sele-Maluku: 110 participants
- Maniema (Misabanga & Kindu): 21 and 71 participants
- North Kivu & Ituri: Beni (49), Durba (51), Isiro (24), Kisangani (63), Bunia (51)
- Other Provinces: Kalemie (12), Kananga (74), Matadi (71), Muanda (50), Mbanza-Ngungu (44), Lubumbashi (54), and Kwango (20)
- Note: Commemorative altars were prepared in Butembo, Goma, Bunia, Kikwit, and Kolwezi.
These gatherings served as moments of remembrance, gratitude, and testimony centered on True Father’s life, mission, and legacy. Members renewed their dedication to the Providence while offering tribute through prayer, reflection, and fellowship.
On Sunday, August 30, the celebrations continued with the final match of the Sun Moon Peace Cup in Kinshasa. Organized as part of the youth summer camp, the football tournament brought together 40 participants, culminating in a championship match between the Lukunga and Mont-Amba teams.
The match unfolded in a warm, fair-play atmosphere. Team Mont-Amba claimed victory over Lukunga with a 4–1 score to win the Sun Moon Peace Cup. Beyond the athletic results, the tournament fostered teamwork, unity, and brotherhood among the youth.
Overall, the events of August 29–30 successfully united families and young people across the DRC in a spirit of reverence, joy, and shared commitment to True Father’s legacy.
