We submitted a project proposal on Youth Summer Camp to different prospect partners to companies, institutions and government Ministers. Only the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship responded with a promise to send representative and some monetary support. The Ministry of Education promise to collaborate but wanted to know first our project by sending representative during the event. Due to Inclusive National Dialogue, Summer camp was changed to 3 Day seminar on the Character Education (CE) at Lycee Feminine National High School, which was held on September 7 to 9, 2022. We had 55 participants of high School and University students including representatives from different Ministers. We invited as well two representatives from the group of teachers who finished the 12 chapters of CE last April 2022. All official representatives stayed till the end of the seminar. The Vice Dean stayed only the first day due to her schedule. However, she showed her appreciation, support and encourage everyone to continue. She promised to support our activities.
There were Q & A every end of the chapter taught. During break time informal discussions one representative from Ministry of Education declared that “if only this teaching was taught many years ago Chad would not have these problems we are experiencing right now”.
The topic about sexual purity and fidelity created a lot of discussion due to the fact that Chad legalized polygamy. The lecturers emphasize the ideals and the representatives contributed a lot to the discussions. On the third day the 12 chapters of the CE were taught completely. There was a review of the lectures, and rolled up by a conclusion that Peace can be achieve by “Living for the sake of others”. All participants were asked to write their Evaluations and Comments” on the distributed forms. Two students read in front of the television camera their gratitude to the WFWP and their recommendation to the government to support in disseminating the Character Education to the Youth all over Chad territory. It was followed by distributions Certificates of Attendance. Private national radio and Television were present on that culmination day. It was aired on the following day.
