Dr. YONG’s tour consisted of three parts:
1. Meeting with Providential Organizations
On Sunday, August 9, 2026, Dr. Chung Sik YONG met with the leaders of providential organizations in Burkina Faso. He encouraged leaders to take initiative, go into the field, and trust in Providence. The meeting concluded with a prayer and a time of fellowship.
2. Audience at the Ministry of Sports, Youth, and Employment
On August 10, 2026, Dr. Chung Sik YONG was received at the Ministry of Sports, Youth, and Employment. He commended the efforts of the President of Faso on behalf of young people and expressed Tong-Il Moo-Do International’s desire to strengthen its cooperation with Burkina Faso.
The Secretary-General encouraged the development of the discipline through an action plan, instructor training, and their deployment across regions.
She also gave her agreement in principle to organize the 40-day African seminar for martial arts masters and the African Tong-Il Moo-Do Championship in Burkina Faso, as well as to support Burkina Faso’s participation in the World Championship in Panama.
Dr. YONG also presented training opportunities in the field of Sports and martial arts at Sun Moon University. He presented gifts and documents on character education, along with a poem titled Crown of Glory by our Father, which illustrates how to forgive and love one’s enemy.
3. International Tong-Il Moo-Do Conference
On August 10, 2026, an international conference was held in Ouagadougou under the theme: “The role of martial arts in the service of peace and sustainable development.”
Dr. YONG emphasized discipline, peace, and character education, drawing a parallel between present-day Burkina Faso and post-war South Korea.
On this occasion, Mrs. Mau Ngoma ILBOUDO was appointed National Chairman of Tong-Il Moo-Do Burkina Faso, and Mr. Ibrahima DIALLO, President of the AJSB, was appointed Ambassador of Tong-Il Moo-Do in Burkina Faso.
Master BANSE Wendkuni Bertrand, President of the Burkinabé Association of Tong-Il Moo-Do, expressed his readiness to continue actively working toward making Tong-Il Moo-Do a sports federation of national interest that will actively contribute to restoring one-third of the nation.
The event concluded with a Tong-Il Moo-Do demonstration performed by practitioners.
Reflection
Three Karate-do and Taekwondo masters holding 6th Degree Black Belts who attended the conference testified that implementing character education could greatly help educate young people and turn them into an essential pillar for peace and sustainable development in Burkina Faso.
