Our Program was inspired by the guidance of both Regional President Demian Dunkley (Asia Pacific 1) and Regional President Masaichi Hori (Asia Pacific 2). They always emphasize that Family tradition and Education are the Key for Blessed Children to be successful in their study, career, public mission and in matching and blessing and ultimately in creating God-centered ideal Family.
There are altogether three (3) series of Parental Guidance specially catered for Blessed Families, Blessed Couples (1st and 2nd Gen) & Sunday School Educators in English (3 series) and Japanese (2 series) in Asia Pacific, organized by Asia Pacific Sunday School Think Tank Group.
Our very heartistic speaker, Mrs. Raenette Rieko Pang shared how she applied True Parents education based on the theory of Unification Thought in her family education for more than 24 years, especially in raising up her three children while standing in public mission all these years. Moreover, she has also experienced bringing up her children while staying in Republic of China (a communist-based country) by devoting prayers, Jeongseong, inspirations and also reading God’s words.
1st Series entitled Making the Invisible God “Visible”. She shared the value of Blessed Children and how Blessed Families should view and raise up Blessed Children from Heaven’s perspective. She also shared very important guidance how Blessed Couples should purify themselves before conceiving Blessed Children. She also shared True Parents’ hope and wishes towards our Blessed Children, not only competent in term of faith and tradition, but also excel in their academic and established Ideal Families centering on Heavenly Parent and True Parents. Finally, our speaker also shared practical guidance with posters on how to set up Hyo Jeong family time together every night to close the days with gratitude and sharing to God and ancestors and build family bonding between parents and children. Parents are co-creators of God and they are visible representation of invisible God. As parents invest in raising up blessed children, their heart will grow and resemble God more and more. That is God’s purpose of creation.
2nd Series entitled Strengthening Family Relationship & Heavenly Tradition. She also shared important points on to how to strengthen Family Relationship through communication and tradition. Communication is like blood flow in the body. The heart bump blood to all parts of the body and it deliver oxygen and nutrients. When the blood flow is blocked, problem happen such as stroke, heart attacks etc. it will lead to physical illness even causing death. Same like in the family relationship. If the communication is blocked, the entire family is unhealthy and malfunction. As parents understand the needs of our children according to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and value of validation. We need to recognize and affirm that our children’s feelings or opinions are valid or worthwhile. Relationships that are not working well often lack of validation. Both Parents and children are not feeling heard or supported. She also explained that how to guide our children to accept our life of faith such as tradition, HDH, Heavenly Parent and True Parents. We must understand human tendency: They always avoid pain (hard, not fun & uncomfortable) and seek for Joy (fun, happy and interesting). So, as parents must make Church Tradition and church related activity become fun, happy and interesting things. Then, our Children will want to do or join it willingly. Moreover, it is crucial for the parents to provide fundamental needs for children externally and internally. Father can provide vision (Faith & Truth), guides direction in life and relates to future and society. However, Mother can give comfort, heartistic prayer and help to connect father and children. Finally, she shared about the value of Blessed Central Family Tradition (setup family altar, pledge service, HJ Family Time, Sunday Service/ Sunday School etc.) based on the Poster which was designed by Asia Pacific Sunday School Think Tank group.
3rd Series entitled Educating Geniuses & Preparation for Matching. In this series, Mrs. Raenette Pang focused on how to raise up our children to become genius according to God given talents and abilities and tips for preparation our children for matching and blessing in the early age. Educating Geniuses are the education of physical, technical and intellectual education. It is corresponding to 3rd Blessing Education such as mastering all things and environment, creativity and stewardship, sports, academic, art, business, IT, etc. However, Educating Geniuses must be based on the strong foundation of Education of Heart (1st Blessing) and Education of Norm (2nd Blessing). If not, it will bring us to disaster. As children of God, we should be number one or genius in everything regardless internally (Heart or Faith) or externally (talent or intellect). The tips to prepare our children matching and blessing is that Parents must be the good model. Because parents are visible God that represent invisible God, harmonious beings, unity and value, heart and love on the earth. Parents should not fight, always to see each other from God’s viewpoint, don’t demand your spouse to change, focus on changing yourself, make it your life goal to resemble yourself to God and continue study and learn. Parents should start preparation of matching early (around 3 years old). Parents can list out how you want your children to grow up to be, repeat that list and show that goal practically.
Reflections
From Participants (regarding the lectures & testimonies)
- The Hyo Jeong Family Time Poster, to have a goal in preparing our children/grandchildren for the Blessing. The Seminars were full of practical guidance and very positive.
- We are the co-creator and we have the responsibility to create an environment for blessed children to grow and feel God’s existence. The Hyo Jeong Family time and make it a tradition to share among family members are definitely a good way to train ourselves to be grateful and hopeful in making God visible in our life.
- I am very inspired to know how important a blessed child is. The fact that a single sperm cell came out victoriously fertilized the egg cell out of the 300million sperm cells, this indicates the great value of a child.
- The lecture was quite comprehensive with a perspective that was not only from TPs words but also external research. I appreciated the practical tips on heavenly parenting. It was also wonderful that all situations including BCs that have gone astray were considered.
- To make changes, we have to change ourselves first. It is important not to judge our blessed children but to guide them to understand the value of faith and Blessing.
Reflections
From Participants (regarding the future activities & determination)
- It is important to have continuous connection with HP and TPs through HJ Family time or HDH. Sometimes due to busy schedules we lack of sharing so it may lead to dysfunction. I want to have a change in our lifestyle and life of faith.
- Not to give up blessed children who do not follow the traditional way. Instead, we should be like HP who guide the restoration path, parents must continue to help and support them to come back to connect to Heaven’s Blessing.
- Parenting path is a training of parents to have a heart of love and patience. Thus, we should not give up easily. Family is the best environment for our children to develop their faith.
- As what we know that children do whatever they see and not we say. As parent, we need to be a good example to our children. Encourage them to join us in payers and conditions. Let them know our relationship with our HP. Through this, we could open the line of communication with our children.
- My determination is to continue educating my children in the way that our HP and TPs wanted them to be educated. Not on my own standard, but to God’s standard.
