From August 17 to 21, 2026, Dr. Yong Sik, Chairman of the World Tong-Il Moo-Do Federation (WTMF), visited Lusaka, Zambia, marking the final leg of his African tour. The five-day mission focused on expanding Tong-Il Moo-Do (TIMD), advancing character education, empowering youth, and positioning martial arts as a practical instrument for leadership development, peacebuilding, and national progress.
Beyond organizational goals, the visit served as an inspiring gathering for local Blessed Families and members—offering spiritual guidance, renewed motivation, and a clear call to support Zambia’s providential mission.
Key Highlights & Strategic Initiatives
1. Providential Leadership & Organizational Unity
Dr. Yong met with leaders from FFWPU, UPF, WFWP, IAYSP, and the Zambia Tong-Il Moo-Do Federation (ZTIMDF). He emphasized that unity, teamwork, and cross-organizational collaboration are essential for building a foundation for national restoration. He urged leaders to invest in youth by cultivating discipline, moral values, leadership, and a heart of service to build strong families and responsible citizenship.
2. Special Service at the Barlastone Centre
Addressing approximately 75 Blessed Families and members, Dr. Yong delivered a message titled “Prepare for the Age of Tribulation.” He called on members to deepen their faith and unity to expand witnessing efforts and fulfill their providential roles through Heavenly Tribal Messiahship, the Divine Principle, and the Blessing.
3. National Martial Arts Peace Conference & Launch of WUMAF-P
On August 19, 2026, the National Sports Council of Zambia hosted a landmark conference with 150 participants from martial arts bodies, educational institutions, religious groups, and civil society.
- Keynote Vision: Dr. Yong stressed that martial arts must look beyond technical competition to build moral character, strengthen families, and foster community peace.
- WUMAF-P Launch: The visit officially launched the World Unified Martial Arts Federation for Peace (WUMAF-P) in Zambia, establishing a cooperative platform across martial arts disciplines while respecting organizational independence.
4. Youth Development & Educational Partnerships
- “From Zero to Hero” Program: Dr. Yong proposed a 40-day youth initiative blending martial arts with character and leadership training. Designed as a springboard for a future 120-day course, the program aims to train young leaders, instructors, and community peacebuilders.
- Ministry of Education Engagement: On August 20, Dr. Yong and ZTIMDF representatives met with the Curriculum Development Centre under the Ministry of Education to explore integrating TIMD-based character and moral education into Zambia’s national school curriculum.
