By FFWPU Taiwan

Discover the inspiring journey of FFWPU Taiwan—a testament to resilience and triumph. After decades of enduring persecution and public misunderstanding, our movement has achieved a historic milestone: 25 consecutive years of official recognition and honors from the Taiwanese government.

In a newly released interview (available in both Korean and English; see below), the National Leader of Taiwan, Rev. Min-Tai Hsi, shares a powerful testimony of faith. He details the movement’s remarkable 25-year transformation from a banned religious organization into a highly respected, government-honored institution.

The Path from Persecution to Praise

During the 1970s, strict government prohibitions on religious activities forced the Family Federation in Taiwan to operate under severe restrictions for 15 years. Despite these challenges, the movement did not respond with bitterness or conflict. Instead, members committed themselves to a path of sincere public service, focusing on:

  • National Public-Interest Initiatives: Developing projects that directly benefited the citizens of Taiwan.
  • Academic & Interreligious Dialogue: Building bridges of peace and cooperation across different faiths and disciplines.

This unwavering commitment eventually shifted the government’s perspective. Following the lifting of the religious ban in 1990, FFWPU Taiwan’s contributions were finally recognized. Since 2001, the movement has been consistently granted the “Outstanding Religious Organization” award—a prestigious honor maintained every year to the present day.
