The following very brief excerpts are taken from the transcript of Father’s words at Hannam-dong residence on August 20, 2003, when he declared the beginning of the nation of the fourth Israel. In light of the providence in relation to “Israel” we include them here in the hope that they will convey True Parents’ heart.
Now is the time for a new start. What do we need in order to make a new start? We need to have the spirit world with us when we go out. The problem today is that young people have no interest in the spiritual world. What would you do if tomorrow you suddenly happened to go to the spiritual world without even knowing what it is like? Even though you do your best to report every little thing you have done, if you don’t know about the spiritual world you will be caught there at some point. You have to read the messages sent from the spiritual world a hundred or a thousand times and even memorize them. You should feel that you are as familiar with them as you are with a part of your own body.
You have lived your life as you have desired, but you should know how shameful the way you are living is. What support have you given to God’s will? You have to really rethink the way you are living and renew your commitment to God.
When you know about the spiritual world, you can move forward without hesitation. How long do you think the road is? It’s a thousand-mile trip. God’s providence is waiting for us in a far distant place, and if you know this truth you will come to know that there’s no time to spare in your lifetime.
The time for me to take responsibility is now over. I have taught everything to you and now is the time for you to lead and follow the way. That is why, “As the owner of Cheon Il Guk…,”—what follows? [Our family.] Centering on what? [True love.] What is true love? It is living for the sake of others, with love. That is, going back to our hometown with true love and finding and rebuilding the original ideal of creation, which is the heavenly kingdom on earth and in heaven.
Even the first line of the pledge, what is it about? If you recite the pledge even once you should be able to practice put it into practice. But what is important is whether you are reciting it every day with a sense of responsibility, or whether you are just a spectator. You should be ashamed to think you are reciting the pledge every day but not living in accordance with it.
What did I say was the significance of the third year of Cheon Il Guk? What day is August 20th? [The day the beginning of the nation of the fourth Israel was proclaimed] That came later, but what day is it the anniversary of? It is the 18th anniversary of Father’s release from Danbury prison.
What is the motto for this year? [“Let our family perfect a true family of filial children, patriots, saints and divine sons and daughters in Cheon Il Guk, through true love.”] Is perfecting a true family of devoted children, patriots, saints and divine sons and daughters in Cheon Il Guk a simple thing to do? Until now you’ve lived your lives the way you’ve wanted to…. That has been a big problem, which is why I have been praying about it. Times have now changed.
The beginning of the nation of the fourth Adam! Whether you like it or not, with a sincere heart you now have to dedicate your life to supporting this nation. You have to understand that this nation is something you should consider more important than your own life. This is not a simple thing to say or do. That is why throughout my whole life I have never ignored the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Israels. What is Israel? Isn’t it one who has prevailed? Israel means the chosen people who have been victorious over the fallen world. …
Two thousand years after the start of the realm of the Abel-type chosen nation, when Jesus came, when the Messiah came to earth, born as the substantial son of liberated heaven, was he able to live within the realm of that chosen nation? How was it that he was born in a manger? Seen as an illegitimate child how complicated was his life within Joseph’s family and between Jesus and his half-brothers! …
When I think of Jesus, I feel truly sorry for him. Knowing the shameful truth that remains as part of history, when we consider that the normal path to inherit the realm of Israel and to solve the problems of the family, tribe, people, nation, and world exists, how can we live the way we want? You really have to understand how shameful this kind of life is.
I have gone through many crucial moments, risked my life and overcome, and on emerging have made proclamations. If I had done all of this on my own power would it have had anything to do with the spirit world? I am saying that it would have nothing to do with God, even. You have to memorize the letter God sent me and also the resolution made by the five great saints.
Even if you memorize those, you ought to still worry that there would still some places where you would be caught in the spiritual world. Do you think everything will be solved just by coming to hoondokhae and living life without thinking about these things? Hoondokhae is not everything. There are so many challenges you have to overcome.
When I give a speech, I don’t just give it the way I want to. I don’t pick a topic and read it out of a book. I don’t have a topic even five minutes before I begin speaking. Think about being a person who is responsible for so many lives. When you go up to the platform, what kind of mindset do you have to have? That is why my speeches are different from all of yours. If you do hoondokhae, you will be in resonance with me. Knowing this, are you the owner of the newly emerged Cheon Il Guk? Raise your hand if you can say that you are truly the owner!…
Are there materials with which to build this nation? From now we have to establish the tradition with which to make this nation. It is not the individual but the family that must do this. In a family there are the grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, your couple, and your son and daughter. All these eight members of the family must unite and dedicate themselves body and soul.
The spiritual world is not a place you can enter alone. If you are not one with your family, even in that world you will be running round and round in circles. You will be like one of the clouds in the sky. You will not be able to penetrate through anything….
How much do you know about me? To know me you would need to have read my speeches and the resolutions from the spiritual world. Dr. Lee has sent many messages from the spiritual world, so that you can understand me, not so that you can understand Dr. Lee or what the Unification Church is like. The time when it was important to understand the Unification Church has passed, but the time when it is important to understand who I am has not yet passed. You should know this. All of the things I have said will remain forever.
I am not ashamed of myself in front of the members. If I were in a position to feel ashamed, God wouldn’t have indicated that He was Jehovah, Lord of Hosts, three times when he called me. Nor would He have sent a letter saying how proud He is of me. God has made a proclamation. Because he did this in the spiritual world the four great saints have had to announce that resolution….
We have to deny this world. We have to sacrifice ourselves. We can’t go ahead if we do not deny this world and sacrifice ourselves. Sacrifice paves the way for anything….
Do you know how great Cheon Il Guk is? It is a nation. God can register His marriage and birth. A country, the world—even heaven and earth—can register into this nation. God can register His marriage and birth only when we find our ideal partner and can go back and forth freely throughout the universe in heaven and earth.
The spiritual world is the root. You are not the root. Your ancestors are the root. You have to know this and live accordingly. The European members, especially, should know this. Because you have lived your lives not knowing about the spiritual world you could not make any relationship with that world. This is a serious matter.
You have to know about the reality of the spirit world. Without knowing the reality of the spiritual world, heaven cannot cooperate. In the morning when you wake up, say, “Today I will be a person through whom the spiritual and physical worlds can become one.”…
God has sent me a message, and it was a proclamation. It was the first time God has written a proclamation. It is the first time in history that God has sent Rev. Moon a proclamation. That is why the the spiritual world had to proclaim that resolution. The spiritual world has to straighten out the earthly world so that it can unite with Father according to God’s will and then deny everything so that it can stand on its own….
You must travel around and wherever you go you have to gather people and read the resolution from the spiritual world at least once a week. Right now in the spiritual world, everyone has been mobilized. Hundreds, thousands of education centers are being built, and they are spreading the messages. Go to a church or anywhere, and even though they object to what you do—because they don’t understand—you have to teach them….If there is a village you walk past, even though you haven’t even eaten yet, you should take the responsibility of going to the village during a party or a special celebration for someone’s 60th birthday, introduce yourself and tell them about these things. …
You will become partners of the saints, so they will be grateful to you whenever they follow you to all the places that you go to. All the relationships in the spiritual world will be aligned to the direction of goodness and light, and this world of darkness will disappear. Since that is the case, let it be known that misfortune will surely fall upon those who know this and do not act! Say “amen.” This will be decided today. …
Would you want to stand in the elder brother or the younger brother position? Since you are in the elder brother position you must go into each village that you see and convey these things. If it is a feast day you must go there and convey these things. Even if they say you are crazy just say you’re happy to be crazy and quickly spread this news….
Today is a new day. I would like you all to go back and clearly convey this to the church members under your guidance. Become leaders who can guide members so that they can all fulfill their responsibilities. It is not only about you. If you do this the dark side of the earth will brighten up. It will be full of hope and ambition. You have to think of this with joy and regard it as an honor to be able to convey these words to that place where that bright foundation of your life, your ultimate aspiration beckons you to come.
The nation of the fourth Israel is such a wonderful term. There has been nowhere for God to dwell up until now. Now we have proclaimed this and Cheon Il Guk will become the internal foundation and the nation of the fourth Israel will become the external foundation. …
How many years have it been since we started Tongban Gyeokpa? Do the European members understand what I am talking about? You have to work hard out there. You have to be able to love your homeland so that it does not fall behind Korea, Japan, America or any other country. Then you have to dedicate yourself for God’s nation. That is our responsibility. You must clearly understand this. I have clearly heard you all say yes.
Israel, America, and Korea were not able to fulfill their responsibility; that is why we have to do it, do you understand? [Yes.] The responsibility of the blessed families remains to be fulfilled.
