Beloved Heavenly Japan Members,

June 23, 2026, will be remembered as a day of profound sorrow in the history of the Family Federation in Japan and in Heaven’s providence—a day we would rather not recall. Yesterday, the Supreme Court of Japan issued its final ruling to dissolve the Family Federation as a legally recognized religious corporation.

Countless members must have spent a sleepless night in shock and grief, and the pain in the hearts of those who have cherished and protected this church for so many years is beyond words.

Throughout this time, our Family Federation has worked tirelessly to protect Japan from the threat of communism while upholding the values of free democracy. Furthermore, in 160 countries around the world—from the tundra to deserts where barely a blade of grass can grow, and across the harsh landscapes of the African continent—members of the Family Federation from Japan have served as dedicated missionaries, representing the goodwill and hope of Japan.

You are the very people who have carried out countless works of goodwill that even the Japanese government itself could scarcely have undertaken, demonstrating the finest qualities of the Japanese people in every corner of the world.

For that very reason, the Japanese government’s decision to spearhead the dissolution of the Family Federation will be recorded in history as a deeply tragic event—one that brought profound sorrow not only to our members, but also to countless conscientious citizens who genuinely love and cherish Japan.

Today, as the Director-General of the Family Federation’s World Mission Headquarters, I wish first and foremost to offer my comfort, respect, and gratitude to all our members in Japan. For more than half a century, you have lived according to our True Parents’ teachings, by making your lives not for yourselves but for the sake of the world.

Your faith has never been self-centered. You have devoted yourselves to the mission, prayed for countless nations and peoples, and offered your time, devotion, and tears for the fulfillment of Heavenly Parent’s providence.

Behind the growth of countless mission foundations, blessed families, and fellowships of Heavenly Parent’s Holy Community throughout the world stands the remarkable legacy of devotion, sacrifice, and unwavering faithfulness offered by our Heavenly Japan members.

On behalf of members across the world, I bow my head in heartfelt gratitude to you, our Heavenly Japan members. Your tears have never been shed in vain. Your prayers have never fallen unanswered to the ground.

Your devotion is remembered by Heaven, and it is remembered by the entire world. More than anything else, since the very dawn of history, you are the greatest source of pride for Japan and for all your ancestors.

At this time, those of you who are in Japan have come to bear the truly harsh and weighty cross of “dissolution” on behalf of the Family Federation worldwide.

Yet you are far more than mere followers of a religion. As public representatives of Japan, you have carried goodwill and hope into the world, devoting your lives unreservedly in service to humanity afflicted by moral confusion, poverty, and hunger.

As I witness this grave moment of historical trial, I am convinced of one truth: Heavenly Parent and the good and righteous ancestors of Japan now hold a clear and compelling heavenly mandate to bestow even greater blessings upon you and to protect you to the very end.

For it is the law of Heaven that the greatest grace is bestowed upon those who have borne the greatest sacrifice.

Moreover, members of the Unification Family around the world are coming to a deeper appreciation than ever before of the profound value of the sacrifice and service you have offered for the sake of the world and all humanity.

We now inscribe upon our hearts the sacred, providential calling entrusted to us all—to pray with you, to stand in solidarity with you, and to bear this responsibility together.

Japan’s pain is no longer Japan’s alone; it has become a shared cross that the entire global Unification Family must carry as one.

Beloved Heavenly Japan members,

We are people of faith who live in attendance to Heavenly Parent. That is why we must absolutely hold firm to the words of Psalm 30:5: “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

Throughout the history of God’s providence, every night of tears has given way to a morning of joy. Such was the case in Moses’ wilderness, in Jesus’ path to the cross, and in the persecution of the early Church.

Time and again, what appeared in a given moment as defeat has, in the course of history, opened the way to a greater victory and a new beginning.  

I recall vividly the day after I assumed the role of Director-General of the World Mission Headquarters. True Mother’s first instruction to me was, “Go to Japan.”

She asked me to convey her love to the leader of Heavenly Japan and to all the members there.

In that moment, I was able to feel her heart with piercing clarity. Though True Mother always embraces the entire world, on that day she held the Japanese members especially close to her heart.

She regarded your pain as her own and received your tears as her own. Such is a mother’s heart—it is always drawn to the child who is hurting most.

True Mother is not only a person who bore and raised fourteen children; she is the Mother of Humanity, embracing all people as her own.

More than anyone, she understands the profound pain and sacrifice inherent in bringing forth life.

For this very reason, she empathizes more deeply than anyone with the pain, the sense of injustice, and the inexpressible weight of heart that you, our brothers and sisters in Japan, are carrying at this time. 

Japan is the providential nation that True Parents established as the Mother Nation. The deep love and compassion that True Mother showed for Japan when I first took office remains unchanged to this day, and her heart as she looks upon these painful developments is no different.

Even at this very moment, True Mother is holding the members of Heavenly Japan especially close to her heart. She is the first to reach out and gently take your hands, sharing in your pain, praying with you, and waiting together with you for the dawn of a new morning.

Beloved Heavenly Japan members,

Though today may be our night of tears, it is not an eternal night. Dawn will surely come, and morning will break.

And that morning will be brighter and more glorious than any we have known before.

I am certain: this ruling is not the final chapter in the history of the Family Federation in Japan. Rather, it will become the opening of a new chapter—one in which the faith and filial devotion of the Heavenly Japan members shine all the more brilliantly.

For history has always passed through its deepest darkness before welcoming its most radiant dawn.

Members of the Unification Family around the world are always with you.

You are never alone. We will pray together, we will move forward together, and in the end, we will prevail together.

The night of tears is going to pass, and the morning of joy is drawing near.

I sincerely pray that the boundless love of Heavenly Parent and the abundant grace of True Parents will be with every member of Heavenly Japan and with your families.  Thank you.

사랑하는 일본 식구님 여러분,

2026년 6월 22일은 일본 가정연합역사과 천주 섭리역사에 차마 기억하고 싶지 않은 참담한 날이 되었습니다. 그날 일본 대법원은 일본 가정연합에 대한 법인 해산을 최종적으로 확정하였습니다. 수많은 식구님들께서 충격과 슬픔 속에서 밤을 지새우셨을 것이며, 오랜 세월 교회를 사랑하고 지켜온 여러분의 심정은 이루 말할 수 없을 것입니다.

그동안 우리 가정연합은 일본을 공산주의의 위협으로부터 지켜내며 자유민주주의의 가치를 수호해 왔습니다. 또한 전 세계 160여 개국, 얼어붙은 동토의 땅에서부터 풀 한 포기 자라기 어려운 사막, 그리고 척박한 아프리카 대륙에 이르기까지, 가정연합 식구들은 일본인 선교사로서 일본의 선(善)과 희망을 대표해 왔습니다. 일본 정부조차 쉽게 감당하지 못할 수많은 선의의 사역을 펼치며, 일본인으로서 모범적인 인간상을 세계 곳곳에 전해 온 이들이 바로 여러분입니다. 그렇기에 일본 정부가 가정연합 해산을 주도했다는 사실은 우리 회원들뿐만 아니라, 일본을 진심으로 사랑하고 아끼는 수많은 양심적인 시민들에게도 깊은 슬픔과 통탄을 안겨준 비통한 사건으로 기억될 것입니다.

오늘 저는 세계선교본부장의 이름으로, 무엇보다 먼저 일본 식구님 여러분께 깊은 위로와 존경, 그리고 감사의 마음을 전하고자 합니다. 일본 식구님 여러분은 지난 반세기를 넘어 누구보다도 세계를 위해 살아 참부모님의 가르침에 따라 ‘위하는 삶’을 실천해 오셨습니다. 여러분은 결코 자신만을 위해 신앙생활을 하지 않았습니다. 세계 선교를 위해 헌신하셨고, 수많은 국가와 민족을 위해 기도하셨으며, 하늘부모님의 섭리를 위해 자신들의 시간과 정성과 눈물을 아낌없이 바쳐 오셨습니다.

오늘 전 세계 곳곳에 세워진 수많은 선교 기반과 축복가정, 그리고 하늘부모님 성회 공동체의 성장 뒤에는 일본 식구님 여러분이 바쳐 오신 정성과 헌신, 그리고 충정의 역사가 깊이 새겨져 있습니다. 전 세계 식구들을 대표하여 일본 식구님 여러분께 고개 숙여 진심으로 감사드립니다. 여러분의 눈물은 결코 헛되지 않았으며, 여러분의 기도는 결코 땅에 떨어지지 않았습니다. 여러분의 헌신은 하늘이 기억하고 있으며, 온 세계가 기억하고 있습니다.  무엇보다 하늘과 일본의 조상들은 역사이래 여러분을 가장 자랑스럽게 여기실 것입니다.

이번에 일본 식구님 여러분은 전 세계 가정연합을 대표하여 ‘해산’이라는 참으로 가혹하고 무거운 십자가를 짊어지게 되셨습니다. 그러나 여러분은 단순히 한 종교의 신도를 넘어, 일본을 대표하는 공인(公人)으로서 세상 가운데 선의와 희망을 전하고, 도덕적 혼란과 빈곤, 기아로 고통받는 인류를 위해 자신의 삶 전체를 바쳐 헌신해 오셨습니다.

저는 이 엄중한 역사적 시련을 바라보며 한 가지를 확신합니다. 하늘부모님과 일본의 선하시고 의로운 조상님들께서는 이제 일본 식구님 여러분에게 더 큰 축복을 베푸시고, 끝까지 지켜 주셔야 할 분명한 하늘의 명분을 가지게 되셨다는 사실입니다. 가장 큰 희생을 감당한 자녀에게 가장 큰 은혜로 함께하시는 것이 하늘의 법도이기 때문입니다.

아울러 전 세계 통일가의 모든 식구들 역시 일본 식구님 여러분이 지금까지 세계와 인류를 위해 감당해 온 위대한 희생과 봉사의 가치를 더욱 깊이 깨닫고 있습니다. 이제 우리는 여러분을 위해 함께 기도하고, 함께 연대하며, 함께 책임져야 할 거룩한 섭리적 사명이 우리 모두에게 있음을 가슴 깊이 새기고 있습니다. 일본의 아픔은 더 이상 일본만의 아픔이 아니라, 전 세계 통일가가 함께 짊어져야 할 공동의 십자가이기 때문입니다.

사랑하는 신일본 식구님 여러분,

우리는 하늘부모님을 모시고 살아가는 신앙인들입니다. 그래서 우리는 성경 시편 30장 5절에 “저녁에는 울음이 깃들일지라도 아침에는 기쁨이 오리로다.”라고 기록된 그 말씀을 절대 믿습니다.

하나님의 섭리사는 언제나 눈물의 밤을 지나 기쁨의 아침으로 나아갔습니다. 모세의 광야도 그러했고, 예수님의 십자가도 그러했으며, 초대교회의 박해도 그러했습니다. 역사의 어느 한순간에는 패배처럼 보였던 일이 결국은 더 큰 승리와 새로운 출발의 문이 되었음을 우리는 인류 역사를 통해 잘 알고 있습니다.

제가 세계선교본부장으로 취임한 바로 다음 날이었습니다. 참어머님께서는 제게 가장 먼저 “일본으로 가라”고 명하셨습니다. 그리고 당시 신일본 회장님을 비롯한 일본 식구님들에게 어머님의 사랑을 대신 전해 달라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그 순간 저는 참어머님의 심정을 뼈저리게 느낄 수 있었습니다. 어머님께서는 언제나 전 세계를 품고 계시지만, 그날만큼은 특별히 일본 식구들을 가슴에 품고 계셨습니다. 일본 식구님들의 아픔을 당신의 아픔으로 여기셨고, 여러분의 눈물을 당신의 눈물로 받아들이고 계셨습니다. 어머니의 마음은 언제나 가장 아픈 자녀를 향하는 법이기 때문입니다.

참어머님께서는 14명의 자녀를 품고 낳아 기르신 분이시자, 전 인류를 자녀로 품으시는 인류의 어머니이십니다. 생명을 낳기 위해 겪어야 하는 산고의 고통이 얼마나 크고 깊은 것인지 누구보다 잘 아시는 분이십니다. 그렇기에 지금 일본 식구님 여러분이 겪고 있는 아픔과 억울함, 그리고 말로 다 표현할 수 없는 심정의 무게를 누구보다 깊이 공감하고 계십니다.

일본은 참부모님께서 ‘어머니의 나라’로 세워주신 섭리적 나라입니다. 제가 취임 직후 목격했던 일본을 향한 참어머님의 깊은 사랑과 연민은 오늘도 변함이 없으며, 일본의 가슴 아픈 소식을 바라보시는 참어머님의 심정 또한 그때와 다르지 않습니다. 지금 이 순간에도 참어머님께서는 누구보다 먼저 신일본 식구님들의 손을 따뜻하게 붙들고 계시며, 여러분과 함께 아파하시고, 여러분과 함께 기도하시며, 여러분과 함께 새로운 아침을 기다리고 계십니다.

사랑하는 일본 식구님 여러분,

오늘은 비록 눈물의 밤일지라도, 영원한 밤은 없습니다. 반드시 새벽은 오고 아침은 밝아옵니다. 그리고 그 아침은 지금까지 우리가 맞이했던 그 어떤 아침보다도 더 밝고, 더 영광스러운 아침이 될 것입니다. 저는 확신합니다. 이번 판결은 일본 가정연합 역사의 마지막 장이 아닙니다. 오히려 일본 식구님들의 신앙과 효정이 더욱 찬란하게 빛나게 될 ‘새로운 출발의 장’이 될 것입니다. 역사는 언제나 가장 깊은 어둠을 지나 가장 찬란한 새벽을 맞이해 왔기 때문입니다.

전 세계의 모든 식구들이 일본 식구님들과 늘 함께하고 있습니다. 여러분은 결코 혼자가 아닙니다. 우리는 함께 기도할 것이며, 함께 전진할 것이고, 마침내 함께 승리할 것입니다. 눈물의 밤은 지나가고 이제 기쁨의 아침이 다가오고 있습니다.

하늘부모님의 무한하신 사랑과 참부모님의 크신 은혜가 신일본의 모든 식구님 여러분과 가정 위에 함께하시기를 진심으로 축원합니다. 감사합니다.

世界宣教本部長 特別メッセージ, 愛する神日本の食口の皆様へ, 2026年6月25日

愛する日本の食口の皆様、

2026年6月22日は、日本家庭連合と天宙摂理歴史において、決して記憶したくない痛恨の日となりました。

昨日、日本最高裁判所は日本家庭連合に対する法人解散を最終的に確定いたしました。数多くの食口の皆様が衝撃と悲しみの中で一夜を明かしたことでしょう。長きにわたり教会を愛し、守り続けてこられた皆様の心情は、言葉では到底言い表せないほどのことと察します。これまで私たち家庭連合は、日本を共産主義の脅威から守り抜き、自由民主主義の価値を守り抜いてきました。

また、全世界160余か国、凍てつく凍土の地から草一本育つことの難しい砂漠、そして過酷なアフリカ大陸に至るまで、家庭連合の食口たちは日本人宣教師として、日本の善と希望を代表してまいりました。日本政府でさえ容易に担うことのできない数多くの善意の奉仕を展開し、日本人としての模範的な人間像を世界各地に伝えてきた方々が、まさに皆様です。

それゆえに、日本政府が家庭連合の解散を主導したという事実は、私たちの会員だけでなく、日本を心から愛し大切に思う数多くの良心的な市民にとっても、深い悲しみと痛恨の念を抱かせる悲痛な事件として記憶されることでしょう。今日、私は世界宣教本部長の名で、何よりもまず、日本の食口の皆様に深い慰労と敬尊敬、そして感謝の心をお伝えしたいと思います。

日本の食口の皆様は、半世紀を超えて、誰よりも世界のために真の父母様の教えに従って「為に生きる生活」を実践してこられました。 皆様は自らのためだけに信仰生活をしてこられたのではありません。世界宣教のために献身され、数多くの国と民族のために祈られ、天の父母様の摂理のために自分たちの時間と精誠と涙を惜しみなく捧げてこられました。

今日、全世界各地に築かれた数多くの宣教基盤と祝福家庭、そして天の父母様聖会共同体の成長の背後には、日本の食口の皆様が捧げてこられた 精誠と献身、そして忠誠の歴史が深く刻まれています。

全世界の食口たちを代表し、日本の食口の皆様に深く頭を下げ、心から感謝申し上げます。皆様の涙は決して無駄ではなく、皆様の祈りは決して地に落ちることはありませんでした。

皆様の献身は天が記憶しており、全世界が記憶しています。何よりも、天と日本の先祖たちは、歴史始まって以来、皆様を最も誇りに思っておられると思います。今回、日本の食口の皆様は、全世界の家庭連合を代表して、「解散」という誠に過酷で重い十字架を背負われることとなりました。

しかし皆様は、単なる一宗教の信徒を超え、日本を代表する公人として世の中に善意と希望を伝え、道徳的混乱と貧困、飢餓で苦しむ人類のために、ご自身の人生のすべてを捧げて献身してこられました。

私は、この厳重な歴史的試練を見つめながら、一つのことを確信しています。天の父母様と日本の善く義なる先祖の方々は、今や日本の食口の皆様にさらなる大きな祝福を与えてくださり、最後まで守り抜かなければならない明確なる天の名分を持たれたという事実です。

最も大きな犠牲を担った子女に、最も大きな恩恵をもって共にされることが、天の法度であるからです。あわせて、全世界の統一家のすべての食口たちも、日本の食口の皆様がこれまで世界と人類のために担ってこられた偉大な犠牲と奉仕の価値を、より深く悟っています。

今や私たちは、皆様のために共に祈り、共に連帯し、共に責任を負わなければならない聖なる摂理的使命が私たち全員にあることを、胸深くに刻んでいます。日本の痛みは、もはや日本だけの痛みではなく、全世界の統一家が共に背負うべき共同の十字架であるからです。

愛する神日本の食口の皆様。
私たちは天の父母様に侍り、生きて行く信仰者たちです。ですから、私たちは聖書・詩篇30編5節に「夜はよもすがら泣きかなしんでも、 朝と共に喜びが来る。」（口語訳）という記録されたそのみ言を固く信じています。

神様の摂理史は、常に涙の夜を過ぎて喜びの朝へと進んできました。モーセの荒野もそうであり、イエス様の十字架もそうであり、初代教会の迫害もそうでした。

歴史のある瞬間では敗北のように見えた出来事が、結局は、より大きな勝利と新たな出発への門となったことを、私たちは人類の歴史を通してよく知っています。私が世界宣教本部長に就任した、まさに翌日のことでした。真のお母様は私に最初に何よりもまず日本へ行きなさいと命じられました。

そして当時の神日本会長をはじめとする日本の食口の皆様にお母様の愛を代わって伝えてほしいと語られました。その瞬間、私は真のお母様の心情を骨身にしみるほど深く感じることができました。

お母様は常に全世界を抱いておられますが、あの日ほど特別に日本の食口の皆様を心に抱いておられました。日本の食口の皆様の痛みをご自身の痛みとされ、皆様の涙をご自身の涙として受け止めておられました。母親の心は、いかなる時も最も痛みのある子女へと向かいます。

真のお母様は１４人の子女を産み育てられたお方であると同時に、全人類を子女として抱かれる人類の母であられます。生命を産み出すために伴う産みの苦しみが、どれほど大きく深いものであるかを誰よりもご存じのお方です。

それゆえに、今、日本の食口の皆様が経験しておられる痛みと悔しさ、そして言葉では言い尽くせない心情の重みを、誰よりも深く共感しておられます。

日本は、真の父母様が「母の国」として立ててくださった摂理的な国です。私が就任した直後に目撃した、日本に向けられた真のお母様の深い愛と憐れみは、今日も変わることがなく、日本の胸の痛む知らせを見つめられる真のお母様の心情もまた、あの時と何ら変わりはないのです。今この瞬間も、真のお母様は誰よりも先に神日本食口の皆様の手を握りしめ、皆様と共に痛みを感じ、皆様と共に祈られ、皆様と共に新しい朝を待っておられます。

愛する日本の食口の皆様

今日はたとえ涙の夜であっても、永遠の夜はありません。 必ず夜明けは訪れ、朝は明けてきます。そしてその朝は、私たちがこれまで迎えてきたどの朝よりも、さらに明るく、より栄光に満ちた朝となることでしょう。

私は確信しています。今回の判決は、日本家庭連合の歴史の最後の章ではありません。むしろ、日本の食口の皆様の信仰と孝情がより一層燦然と輝くことになる「新たな出発の章」となることでしょう。歴史は常に、最も深い闇を越えて、最も燦然とした夜明けを迎えてきたからです。

全世界のすべての食口たちが、いつも日本の食口の皆様と共にあります。皆様は決して一人ではありません。私たちは共に祈り、共に前進し、最終的に勝利することでしょう。涙の夜は過ぎ去り、今、喜びの朝が近づいています。

天の父母様の愛と限りない真の父母様の大いなる恩恵が、神日本のすべての食口の皆様とご家庭の上に共にありますよう心より祈願いたします。ありがとうございました。
