Camino a Casa: Faith, Resilience, and Community Highlight Summer Youth Workshops

MADRID, Spain — Across three transformative weeks this summer, young people gathered in Madrid for a profound journey of spiritual growth, personal reflection, and fellowship. Hosted at Manantial, the dual retreat events—the 2026 Harp Workshop and the Pre-Harp Workshop—offered participants an inspiring space to explore life’s foundational questions and build connections designed to last a lifetime.

Building Character and Connection: The Harp Workshop

From July 12 to 24, older youth came together for the primary Harp Workshop, immersing themselves in an intensive program focused on faith, maturity, and personal development.

Through a series of engaging lectures, participants explored core topics critical to navigating young adulthood:

  • Identity & Purpose: Understanding self-worth and direction in life.
  • Accountability & Resilience: Learning how to grow from mistakes and embrace personal responsibility.
  • Spiritual Foundations: Developing meaningful practices around prayer, purity, and integrity.

A major highlight of the retreat was Challenge Day, an action-packed event where teams tackled physical and mental obstacles together. The experience pushed participants past their comfort zones, reinforcing lessons on trust, teamwork, and mutual support. By the retreat’s end, powerful sessions of personal testimonies allowed attendees to reflect on their journey and map out practical ways to bring their renewed focus back into their everyday lives.

“Camino a Casa”: Grace Under Fire

Just two days later, from July 26 to August 3, the energy shifted as children aged 6 to 12 arrived for the Pre-Harp Workshop. Centered around the theme “Camino a Casa” (The Way Home), the program aimed to teach children about faith, family values, and the comfort of community.

The theme was put to an unexpected, real-world test when a nearby wildfire threatened the area, forcing a temporary relocation. Handled with calm efficiency by the event staff, the shift only served to demonstrate the true spirit of the gathering. The event continued seamlessly, offering the children a full schedule of interactive lessons, practical activities, and memorable outdoor adventures.

“The theme ‘The Way Home’ became more than a motto—it became a living lesson that community is built on trust, adaptability, and shared heart, no matter where you are.”

A Lasting Impression

From deep intellectual and spiritual discussions to overcoming sudden real-world challenges, both workshops left an indelible mark on everyone involved. As the young participants returned home, they carried with them renewed faith, unforgettable memories, and a strong network of support for the road ahead.
