On May 24, 2022, WFWP Philippines warmly welcomed Mrs. Moriko Hori, the President of WFWP Japan at the UPF Peace Embassy in the Philippines through a special gathering where she guested as the main speaker. Around 80 participants, including former WFWP Board of Directors, WFWP members from different chapters, FFWPU and UPF leaders, and invited guests graced the event. Presentation of the current activities of WFWP Philippines were the highlights of the event. Some of our VIP Participants were:

Mrs. Yumiko Teves, Domestic Peace Education Program Project head informatively presented the Domestic Peace Education Program (DPEP), a module dedicated to strengthening husband and wife relationship. It has a module crafted by the Gender and Development professional to provide one of the firm solutions against domestic violence. The main objective of the activities on the module was to let both husband and wife realize their focus necessary to the family through experiencing the program. Then children in the family, witnessing the strong bonding of their parents will be encouraged to participate further in youth program, which will be the next phase of the program.

Ms. Christine Rose Bulayo, the Governor General of the 10K Heroes United, a youth arm of WFWP Philippines shared about the Permaculture, short for Permanent Culture, a regenerative approach to ecosystem restoration. Ms. Bulayo highlighted the importance of working with nature and not against it, which is one of the principles of Permaculture. She also explained how everything in nature works interdependently. She encouraged everyone to support the program and practice a Permaculture way of thinking.

The program concluded by a photo opportunity with Mrs. Hori. After the event, the women leaders shared lunch together and had a fruitful discussion on how to encourage women to be involve in the quest for women empowerment.
