The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification Philippines in collaboration with the HJ CheonBo Asia Pacific Branch conducted the 2-Day Heavenly Asia Pacific Hyojeong CheonBo Special Philippines Event for the 4th time from September 16-17, 2023, at Viento De Mar Resort, Bacacay, Albay, Bicol and online. The event was participated by a total of 320 blessed families and members, both onsite and online, from the Philippines and Asia Pacific.
This 2-Day event highlighted the CheonBo Family Education and the Ancestors Liberation and Ancestors Blessing Ceremony. Members had the opportunity to attend the Cheon Shim Won Night Prayer Vigil and listen to inspiring testimonies from the selected individuals as well. This special event was graced with the presence of Dr. Kim In Cheon, President of HJ CheonBo Asia Pacific Branch & Secretary General of HJ CheonBo Korea; Rev. Edgar Tanate, Lecturer, HJ CheonBo-Asia Pacific Branch; Rev. Leo Angelo T. Halog, President of FFWPU-Philippines and Mrs. Gloria T. Bastol, Regional Director of FFWPU Bicol Region.
On the first day, the program commenced with the Chanyang Yeoksa Session. Members attending had the opportunity to remove the evil spirits from their bodies by clapping and tapping them and received special ansu from leaders. Dr. Kim In Cheon gave his opening remarks emphasizing the value of absolute faith and the importance of Chanyang Yeoksa. He shared the importance of internal preparation upon attending the CheonBo Great Works as we are to receive grace from Heavenly Parent and True Parents. He also mentioned that attending Cheon Shim Won is attending Cheongpyeong, the place where True Parents dwell. Following that, Rev. Leo Angelo Halog shared the significance of praying in Cheon Shim Won and offering sincere devotion. Rev. Gloria Bastol welcomed everyone to their humble region and extended her gratitude for making this historical CheonBo event possible in Bicol.
The 2nd Chanyang Yeoksa Session proceeded in the afternoon, setting the mode for the afternoon event. Rev. Edgar Tanate shared about “Collateral Liberation of Spirits and National Restoration” and Rev. Leo Angelo Halog shared 2 lectures entitled “First Comes Witnessing, Second Comes Witnessing, and the Third is Also Witnessing” and “The Importance of Cheon Shim Won Prayer”. Rev. Halog reiterated the importance of continuous devotion to Cheon Shim Won resulting in achieving substantial results, especially in witnessing. He also emphasized the significance of the substantial connection to Heavenly Parent and True Parents by establishing a personal relationship with them.
A Cheon Shim Won Night Prayer Vigil was held in the evening allowing members to experience the amazing grace of Cheon Shim Won. Leaders, elders, brothers, and sisters invested in offering their sincere devotion through prayers and strong determination to have spiritual connection and enlightenment.
The Day 2 program began by singing holy songs and watching a video presentation about the Grace of 800th CSW Vigil. As the atmosphere was set, the program continued with prayers and messages. Rev. Kim In Cheon gave his message about “Grace and Sincere Devotion of Cheon Shim Won.” He encouraged members to have the innermost desire and determination to deliver more results to True Mother. Afterward, he gave 12 Cheon Shim Won pictures to 12 local leaders as a special gift.
The program proceeded with the dedication of Offering Papers by Rev. Leo Angelo Halog, followed by the Ancestors Liberation Ceremony. Thirty-seven (37) members applied for ancestors and collateral liberation and twenty-nine (29) offered wishpapers. Afterward, testimonies were shared from selected blessed families in Bicol who had unforgettable spiritual experiences with the CheonBo Event and shared the grace they had received after the continuous participation of CheonBo Great Works. Finally, the program concluded with the Ancestor’s Blessing Ceremony.
The entire event provided an opportunity for all blessed families and members to experience Heavenly Parent and True Parents’ love and grace. At Cheon Shim Won, they were more determined than ever to help and console our beloved True Mother and offer sincere devotion. Within this year, this remarkable event will continue to go to the other parts of the Philippines.

There were times in our life when we were filled with trials and obstacles. Many challenges trying us to test how deep is our faith. Sicknesses, illnesses and spiritual phenomenon can be encountered. With this, we are very lucky because the Philippines conducted HJ and Cheonbo event. Wherein we can liberate and bless our ancestors for we believed that the spirit world is open. These ancestors will help us spiritually if we liberate them and bless to be an absolute good ancestor. Only then, we can ask their help and work with us during mobilization and to certain circumstances wherein we need them.
Our couple is very grateful because we both liberated and blessed our ancestors vertically and now trying ourselves to complete horizontal. But a test/ obstacle in our life of faith have come to our family. This was happened when we found out that I have a cancer of the lungs. My agony started last September 20, 2022. I had a cough which I thought it was an ordinary cough. But I noticed that almost a week I still had a cough. Until such time. I decided to visit a doctor. Several checked up and medications had been given to me. Yet, still nothing had change. Our couple discussed what we were going to do. Blessing in disguised, we’ve come up to a place of a specialist, a Pulmonologist. I’d been through with several laboratory tests. The doctor found out through ultrasound that there was a water in my left lung and I took the prescribed medicine. And returned for follow up checkup and again no changes. We shifted for second opinion from another physician.
We traveled in Legazpi City and undergone many laboratory tests to determine the possible pain in my body. Likewise we visited the herbalist and spiritualist near our place in Legazpi City to find out what contributed for my illness, the unbearable pain at my back. We maintained deep prayer to really guide us to find the medicine either synthetic, herbal, or spiritual which may help and cure my situation. We always prayed to HF, HP TP, HJN, and to our absolute good ancestors to guide us always on what we are going to do. I lift up everything to Him for I know He is the only way to help us on this obstacle in our life of faith. Until such time the angels brought us to a doctor who gave us guidance in terms of medical suggestions and gave us referral to a certain doctor in a Lung Center.
On the long process of laboratory, they concluded that I have a lung cancer with bone metastasis. At first, I can’t accept it. I cried so much. Why it happens? My daughter still young and she needs me. Certain thoughts came to my mind but I never give up. With my deep prayer only then I accepted the fact and asking the guidance of HF, HP and TP and brought me to a decision to undergone with a chemo therapy.
I always give thanks to HF, HP and TP and asking the help of our absolute good ancestors in guiding me every time I have a session of chemo. Grateful and thankful also because I have spiritual great grandparent in the person of Kuya/ Sir Edgar Tanate who always offer a prayer at CSW and ask the help of medical angels. My spiritual parents, Kuya Melki and Mother Mariflor Gavaran, Ate Glo Bastol, Kuya Rey Sale, all brothers and sisters and my family who are my prayer warriors, always praying for my complete healing. Additional inspiration coming from my titas and friends who always visited and pray for me. Supports me spiritually and always give some advices for the success of my healing process.
A spiritual phenomenon happened when the 3 big men appeared on my dream like a big white light and touch me and they smiled. In return I smiled also and trying to talk to them. After I dreamed them, day by day my condition getting better. I always feel their presence and help me for my healing process.
I really feel the presence of the spirit world in helping me for the improvement of my health condition. While on my healing process I change my diet and lifestyle with a deep spiritual way of life. Overcoming finances through the help of my co teachers, family and friends. Truly God is our greatest provider. He used people in helping us to sustain my medical expenses.
And these give me a strong determination to fight and win for this battle. Inspired me to move on and go on forward because I still have mission to fulfill. Strive harder to be in a good shape physically and spiritually.
And now I am a cancer warrior soon to be a cancer survivor. All of these blessings and gratitude I offer everything to HF and HP. Obstacles and trials we will surpass because of our faith and my strong determination to win this fight.
ALEX BASABE – CheonBo Victor
My name is Alex Basabe and my wife is Kazue Abe. We belong to 1275 couples in 1989. We have 3 children, Junsang, Shin-il and Darren. We started doing Ancestor Liberation in 1997 in Korea. And because of financial difficulty we slowly did it until we finished it in 2020.
After we finished our Ancestor Liberation and Blessing, we felt so much changes not only in our lives but in our mission. We felt that the result of our HTM activities is not just because of our effort but with the support of spirit world. We are grateful to brothers and sisters who supported us even when some doubted our intention. We felt so much power and inspiration and met people we never thought could help us make a breakthrough in mission. Indeed how can this all happened with just our human power? We never thought of becoming a Cheonbo couple but it is with great joy that we can even help other brothers and sisters to become Cheonbo couples themselves.
After finishing our 430 Ancestor Liberation and Blessing, we also started doing Collateral Liberation not only for our relatives but for other people who have lived exemplary lives. So we started researching for people whom we can liberate and bless. It doesn’t matter what their profession is, but we particularly choose people who sacrificed their lives for a greater cause.
We liberated many Filipino heroes who fought and died for the Korean war. Without even knowing it, they fought to defend the Fatherland from communist aggression and later pave the way for the mission of True Parents. But I was particulay touched by Former President Elpidio Quirino, who despite the foreign aggressor’s killing his wife, children, relatives and many countrymen, chose to issue a Presidential pardon to hundreds of prisoners of war and let them go home unharmed. That unselfish love is so touching. To set aside personal feelings for the sake of a greater purpose is something not many people can do. He was also the President who sent 1400 Filipino soldiers to Korea in 1950. The same goes to Former President Manuel Quezon who saved 1200 Jews from Holocaust in 1939 and welcome them to Philippines when the rest of the world chose not to. I think these people deserved to be liberated and blessed because of their efforts for our country.
We are truly grateful that this are all happening in our time. Such opportunity, time and grace is made available to us in the time of True Parents. Right here we are given the chance to liberate and bless as many people as we can. We can be part of the healing of tremendous agony and pain of our ancestors. We are given the chance to change and redirect history.
I felt ashamed of myself for not doing much for HP and TP when many people who came before me – risked their lives so that we can have a better life and better world. I hope that with these lessons in mind, I can determine more to work for God’s providence.
