Legacy of Love and Peace Exhibition Honours the Life and Work of Sun Myung Moon
Parnell, Auckland — The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification New Zealand and Universal Peace Federation New Zealand hosted the Legacy of Love and Peace Exhibition at the Parnell Peace Embassy on Saturday, 29 August 2026, commemorating the 14th Anniversary of the Holy Ascension of Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon.
The gathering brought together community members and distinguished guests to reflect on Rev. Moon’s lifelong commitment to peace, interfaith harmony, strong families, humanitarian service, and the vision of “one human family under God.” Through music, video, speeches, and a guided exhibition tour, participants were invited to consider how this legacy continues to inspire peacebuilding efforts in New Zealand and throughout the wider Pacific region.
The programme opened with registration and a warm welcome, followed by an opening ceremony led by Geoffrey Fyers, Secretary General of UPF New Zealand. A musical performance of Impossible Dream by Angelo Bergaintinos set an uplifting tone for the afternoon, expressing the hope and determination behind the pursuit of lasting peace.
In his opening address, Kenji Watanabe, Chairman of FFWPU New Zealand and UPF New Zealand, welcomed guests and highlighted Rev. Moon’s message that peace begins with right relationships, strong families, and a heart of living for the sake of others. He also reaffirmed the continuing work of UPF and FFWPU in promoting interfaith cooperation, family values, community service, and peace initiatives across New Zealand.
A video presentation, The Life and Legacy of Sun Myung Moon, provided an overview of Rev. Moon’s contributions to peacebuilding, marriage and family strengthening, humanitarian initiatives, education, and interfaith dialogue. The official opening of the exhibition was followed by a group photo and a guided tour, allowing guests to engage more deeply with the displays and the story behind Rev. Moon’s global peace work.
Among the significant attendees were Mr. Kelvyn Alp, Party Leader of New Zealand Loyal; Mr. Eliot Ikirei, NZ First Party Candidate; and Mr. Harjit Singh, QSM, JP, and AFP. With 16 participants in attendance, the exhibition offered a meaningful opportunity for reflection, fellowship, and renewed commitment to carrying forward a legacy of love and peace.
