Beyond Planting Trees: a Time to Grow a Forest, May 29, 2026 (Recorded on May 26)

Beloved and respected blessed families throughout the world,
I pray that the love of our Heavenly Parent and the grace of True Parents may always abide with your loved ones and in all aspects of your lives.
Today, I greet you from Albania in Europe.
Dear members,
Over many years we have announced many visionary plans in anticipation of the firm settlement of Cheon Il Guk. Today I would like to speak with you about the most fundamental vision of all—the very root and point of origin from which every other vision springs.
The vision of Cheon Il Guk, which we have long dreamed of, proclaimed, and struggled to realize, has never been something distant or abstract. Our Heavenly Parent’s grand dream—to realize Heaven’s Will upon this earth—began at the very moment of Creation, when the universe came into being and Adam and Eve were established in Heavenly Parent’s image.
1. Six Thousand Years of Waiting, and the Mission of the Blessed Families
Our Heavenly Parent had a passionate vision, at the heart of which was the ideal of true sons and daughters who perfectly embody Heaven’s love. This would have been the family of Adam and Eve.
Although the Fall of Adam and Eve meant that human history has been a sorrowful course of indemnity over thousands of years, the vision of our Heavenly Parent has never faltered.
Even the True Family that God sought to establish through Jesus and the Holy Spirit could not be fully realized at that time, and thus this providence had to wait another two thousand years. Finally, for the first time in six thousand years, Sun Myung Moon and Hak Ja Han established a true family. Fulfilling the mission of restored Adam and Eve, they appeared on this earth as the True Parents, as Heaven’s victorious champions.
When we understand that Heavenly Parent’s vision has unfolded through True Parents’ providence—from Adam and Eve, to Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and ultimately to the True Parents, Sun Myung Moon and Hak Ja Han—it becomes clear that our ultimate goal is the realization of “true (or exemplary) blessed families.”
Therefore, the greatest fruit established on this earth through the countless hardships and tribulations True Parents have endured is none other than the blessed family itself. Even the vast providence of national and world restoration is ultimately fulfilled through blessed families. The original ideal of our Heavenly Parent, “One Family of Humankind under God,” begins with the expansion and settlement of blessed families centered upon exemplary men and women.
2. Why “Creating the Environment” Must Come before “Planting Trees”
Then how, in this era of the firm settlement of Cheon Il Guk, are we to expand and establish blessed families? True Parents have spoken to us about a remarkable paradigm shift.
“We must not be flowers grown in a greenhouse. We must become pioneers who, like wild grass growing in the meadows amid wind and rain, can rise again on our own no matter what trials may come.” (Cheon Seong Gyeong)
True Parents emphasized the resilient vitality of wild grass that takes root even in barren fields. Just like the broadleaf plantain that is trampled by passersby and crushed beneath wheels, yet rises again the next day with its leaves spread wide, we need a faith that, the more it is trampled down, sinks its roots even deeper and extends further.
Yet we must go one step further.
Even wild grasses ultimately cultivate barren ground. Through becoming living entities themselves, they transform a desolate wilderness into an area teeming with life. Herein lies the providential secret of “creating the environment” that blessed families must inherit.
In the past, we placed great emphasis on witnessing and numerical growth, concentrating on the “planting” of seeds (a new generation) and new saplings (new members). Yet no matter how excellent the seed or sapling may be, it cannot properly take root in a barren, desert-like environment. This is the harsh reality we face today on the front lines of witnessing.
The path we must now walk in this era of the firm settlement of Cheon Il Guk does not end with simply planting seeds and saplings. Once the living entity takes root and a forest begins to grow, we must then nurture and sustain the environment for that forest. When a forest thrives, the trees share their lives with one another and then flourish naturally themselves. Upon this lush foundation of life, that forest expands broadly and deeply.
3. The Settlement of Generations through the “Knots” on Bamboo Stems
The expansion of the Cheon Il Guk community of faith is not achieved through disorderly numerical growth, but through a process of “growth and nodes [the knots that divide a bamboo stem into segments].”
True Parents illustrated this point through the metaphor of bamboo:
They must prevail over each obstacle one by one, as a growing bamboo tree forms each knot, one by one. If they cannot do this they will fall down.” (Cheon Seong Gyeong, p. 363)
The reason bamboo can withstand fierce winds and grow straight to a height of dozens of meters is because, at every stage of growth, it forms a strong “knot” or node. Without these joints, bamboo stems would snap instantly in a violent storm.
Looking back, the many proclamations True Father made throughout his life were not merely events, but providential acts that established sacred historical “knots” so that the providence would not break while weathering the storms of history. At the completion of each providential stage, True Father sealed it through a proclamation ceremony, thereby creating a firm providential “knot” upon which the next stage could unfold.
Yet the present time of the firm settlement of Cheon Il Guk has moved beyond the age of proclamation into the age of substantial realization.
The place where True Father painstakingly drew the roadmap for Cheon Il Guk was nothing more than a barren wilderness. The responsibility of cultivating that desolate wilderness and transforming it into fertile soil overflowing with life therefore belongs entirely to us who are alive today. This is the mission and responsibility entrusted to our generation.
Upon the fertile ground we cultivate with our devoted efforts, the seeds and saplings of a new generation will grow into the lush forest of Cheon Il Guk. And in this age of substantial realization, the most decisive “knot” that our blessed families should establish is the continuity of generations within the blessed family itself.
The faith and growth of the first generation become firmly established only through the “knot” of the second generation. In turn, the growth of the second generation continues through the knot of the third generation, extending on to the fourth, fifth, and sixth generations in the future. If the first generation is unable to create the knots of faith and heart with the second generation, then the life of faith and spiritual growth that the first generation devoted its entire life to building will end there.
4. We Must Become the Wise Farmers of Cheon Il Guk
Jesus long ago conveyed to us much heavenly wisdom by likening us to farmers and seeds. We who live today must become the wise farmers of Cheon Il Guk.
A wise farmer never blames the seeds or the trees. When trees in an orchard fail to grow properly or suffer from disease and pests, it is not the fault of the trees. Likewise, when a seed falls to the ground but fails to sprout, it is not the fault of the seed.
To care for the trees and enrich the soil so that they may blossom, bear fruit, and reproduce on their own and to prepare the environment where seeds can safely take root in the earth—these responsibilities belong entirely to the farmer.
We must never forget that the earnest vision Heaven sought to realize on this earth began with the family, and that this providential will has been handed down through Adam and Eve, through Jesus, and through True Parents, finally reaching our blessed families in the present time.
Therefore, let us make our families and our church communities into fertile soil where children and new members can breathe, grow, and flourish. Cultivating the environment well is the responsibility of the wise farmer.

존경하고 사랑하는 전 세계 축복가정 여러분,
하늘부모님의 사랑과 참부모님의 은혜가 여러분의 가정과 삶 위에 늘 함께하시기를 기원드립니다. 오늘은 유럽 선교현장 알바니아에서 여러분들께 인사를 전합니다.
식구 여러분,
우리는 오랫동안 천일국 안착을 앞두고 수많은 비전을 외쳐왔습니다. 그러나 오늘 저는, 그 모든 비전의 출발점이자 뿌리가 되는 가장 근본적인 우리의 비전을 여러분과 함께 나누고자 합니다.
지금껏 우리가 꿈꾸고 외쳐왔으며, 이루고자 몸부림쳐 온 천일국의 비전은 결코 멀리 있는 것이 아니었습니다. 이 땅 위에 뜻을 이루고자 하셨던 하늘부모님의 원대한 꿈은, 온 우주를 창조하시고 당신의 형상을 따라 아담과 해와를 세우셨던 바로 그 ‘창조’의 자리에서부터 시작되었습니다.
1. 6천 년의 기다림, 그리고 축복가정의 사명
하늘부모님께는 간절한 비전이 있으셨습니다. 그 비전의 시작은 하늘의 사랑을 온전히 닮은 참된 자녀, 곧 ‘아담과 해와 가정’이었습니다. 비록 아담과 해와의 타락으로 인해 인류 역사는 수천 년 동안 눈물의 탕감노정을 걸어야 했지만, 하늘부모님의 비전만큼은 결코 멈추지 않았습니다.
예수님과 성신을 통해 이루고자 하셨던 참가정 역시 뜻이 온전히 이루어지지 못하여, 그 섭리는 다시 2천 년을 기다려야만 했습니다. 그리고 드디어 6천 년 만에, 인류 최초로 문선명·한학자 두 분이 참가정을 이루셨습니다. 복귀된 아담과 해와의 사명을 완수하신 두 분은 이 땅에 참부모로서, 그리고 위대한 승리자로 오셨습니다.
하늘부모님의 비전이 아담과 해와, 예수와 성신, 그리고 문선명·한학자 참부모님으로 이어지는 참부모의 섭리임을 알 때, 우리의 궁극적인 목표가 바로 ‘참된 축복가정’의 실현임이 명확해집니다.
따라서 참부모님께서 수많은 고난과 역경을 넘어 이 땅 위에 세우신 가장 위대한 결실이 바로 축복가정입니다. 국가복귀와 세계복귀라는 거대한 섭리 역시 결국 축복가정을 통해 이루어지며, 하늘부모님의 근원적 이상인 “인류 한 가족”은 참된 인간을 중심으로 한 축복가정의 확장과 정착으로부터 시작됩니다.
2. ‘식목(植木)’보다 ‘환경창조’가 우선인 이유
그렇다면 천일국 안착 시대인 지금, 우리는 어떻게 이 축복가정을 확장하고 정착시켜야 할까요? 참부모님께서는 우리에게 놀라운 패러다임의 전환을 말씀하셨습니다.
“우리는 온실의 화초가 되어서는 안 됩니다. 거친 들판에서 비바람을 맞으며 자란 들풀처럼, 어떠한 시련이 와도 스스로 일어설 수 있는 개척자가 되어야 합니다.” (천성경 제11권 섭리와 개척역사 中)
참부모님께서는 거친 벌판에서도 뿌리를 내리는 들풀의 강인한 생명력을 강조하셨습니다. 길가에서 사람들에게 밟히고 마차 바퀴에 짓눌려도, 그 이튿날 보면 다시 잎을 펴고 일어나는 질경이처럼, 밟히면 밟힐수록 뿌리를 더 깊이 박고 뻗어나가는 신앙의 신조가 필요하다는 말씀입니다.
하지만 우리는 여기서 한 걸음 더 나아가야 합니다. 들풀조차도 결국은 메마른 땅을 일구고, 스스로 유기물이 되어 척박한 사막을 생명이 살아나는 비옥한 옥토로 변화시킵니다. 바로 여기에 축복가정이 계승받아야 할 ‘환경창조’의 섭리적 비결이 있습니다.
과거 우리는 전도와 성장 자체에 무게를 두며 씨앗(미래 세대)과 새로운 묘목(새식구)을 심는 ‘식목’에 집중해 왔습니다. 그러나 아무리 좋은 씨앗과 묘목이라도 메마른 사막과 같은 척박한 환경에서는 제대로 뿌리내릴 수 없다는 것은 자연의 이치입니다. 이것이 오늘날 우리가 전도의 현장에서 마주하고 있는 처절한 현실이기도 합니다.
천일국 안착 시대를 살아가는 우리가 나아가야 할 길은 단순히 씨앗과 묘목을 심는 데 머무르지 않습니다. 먼저 생명이 자리 잡아 숲이 형성되면, 이제는 그 숲의 환경을 건강하게 관리해야 합니다. 숲이 살아나면 나무들은 서로 생명을 나누며 스스로 자생하게 되고, 그렇게 조성된 울창한 생명의 터전 위에서 숲은 더욱 넓고 깊게 확장되어 가는 것입니다.
3. 대나무의 ‘매듭’으로 이어지는 세대 안착
천일국 신앙공동체의 확장은 질서없는 양적 성장이 아니라, ‘성장과 매듭’을 통해 이루어집니다. 참부모님께서는 다음과 같이 대나무의 마디 비유를 주셨습니다.
“참대나무가 마디마디를 맺고 성장하듯이 한 고비 한 고비를 넘어야 됩니다. 그러지 못하면 떨어져 버립니다.”(천성경 363쪽)
대나무가 모진 바람에도 부러지지 않고 수십 미터씩 곧게 자랄 수 있는 비결은 바로 성장의 순간마다 마디라는 단단한 ‘매듭’을 짓기 때문입니다. 매듭이 없는 대나무는 거센 바람이 불면 단번에 꺾이고 맙니다.
돌이켜보면, 과거 참아버님께서 전개해 오신 수많은 ‘선포식’은 섭리가 거센 풍파에 꺾이지 않도록 역사적인 하늘의 거룩한 마디를 고착시키는 선포식의 시대이자 작업이었습니다. 섭리를 이끌어 가시며 한 단계가 끝날 때마다 선포식을 통해 섭리의 매듭을 지으셨고, 이를 발판 삼아 새로운 섭리로 발전시켜 오셨습니다.
그러나 지금의 천일국 안착 시대는 선포의 시대를 넘어선 실체시대입니다. 참아버님께서 천일국의 로드맵을 치열하게 그려놓으신 곳은 다름 아닌 메마른 ‘광야’였습니다. 그렇기에 척박한 그 광야를 일구어 생명이 살아 숨 쉬는 기름진 토양으로 변화시키는 ‘환경창조’는 오롯이 오늘을 사는 우리의 몫이자 책임입니다.
우리가 정성을 다해 일궈낸 이 비옥한 터전 위에서 미래 세대라는 씨앗과 묘목들이 훌륭히 자라나 천일국의 울창한 숲을 이루게 될 것입니다. 그리고 이 실체시대에 우리 축복가정이 맺어야 할 가장 결정적인 성장의 매듭은 바로 그 축복가정이라는 ‘세대(世代)’의 연속을 통해 맺어집니다.
1세대의 신앙적 성장은 2세대라는 매듭을 통해서 비로소 공고해집니다. 2세대의 성장은 다시 3세대의 매듭을 통해 끊임없이 4대, 5대, 6대 미래 세대로 지속될 수 있습니다. 만약 1세대가 2세대로 신앙과 심정의 매듭을 짓지 못한다면, 1세대가 평생을 바쳐 이룩한 신앙의 삶과 성장은 거기서 대가 끊기고 마는 것입니다.
4. 우리는 천일국의 지혜로운 농부가 되어야 합니다
예수님께서는 일찍이 우리를 농부와 씨앗에 비유하여 많은 하늘의 지혜를 전해 주셨습니다. 오늘을 사는 우리는 천일국의 지혜로운 농부가 되어야 합니다.
지혜로운 농부는 결코 씨앗과 나무를 원망하지 않습니다. 과수원의 나무가 잘 자라지 못하고 병충해에 시달리는 것은 나무의 잘못이 아닙니다. 씨가 땅에 떨어져 새싹으로 태어나지 못하는 것 역시 씨앗의 잘못이 아닙니다.
나무가 스스로 꽃을 피우고 열매를 맺어 번식할 수 있도록 나무를 관리하고 토양을 기름지게 가꾸어 주는 것, 씨앗이 대지에 떨어져 안심하고 뿌리내릴 수 있는 환경을 마련해 주는 것—이 모든 것은 오롯이 농부의 책임입니다.
하늘이 이 땅에 실현하고자 했던 간절한 비전은 가정에서부터 출발했으며, 그 뜻이 아담과 해와, 예수님, 그리고 참부모님을 거쳐 오늘날 우리의 축복가정으로 이어져 내려왔음을 우리는 결코 잊지 말아야 할 것입니다.
따라서 우리 가정을, 그리고 우리 교회 공동체를 자녀들과 새로운 식구들이 숨 쉬고 잘 성장할 수 있는 비옥한 옥토로 만듭시다. 환경을 잘 가꾸는 것은 지혜로운 농부의 몫입니다. 하늘부모님의 근본 비전이 실현되는 풍요로운 천일국의 울창한 숲을 세계선교본부는 여러분과 늘 함께하며 가꾸어 나아가기를 소망합니다. 감사합니다.

敬愛する全世界の祝福家庭の皆様、
天の父母様の愛と真の父母様の恩恵が、皆様のご家庭と生活の上に常に共にありますよう祈願いたします。本日は、ヨーロッパの宣教現場であるアルバニアから皆様にご挨拶を申し上げます。
食口の皆様、
私たちは長い間、天一国定着を前にして、数多くのビジョンを叫んできました。しかし今日、私はそのすべてのビジョンの出発点であり、根となる最も根本的な私たちのビジョンを、皆様と共に分かち合いたいと思います。
これまで私たちが夢見て叫び続け、身悶えしながら歩んできた天一国のビジョンは、決して遠いところにあるものではありませんでした。この地上にみ旨を成し遂げようとされた天の父母様の壮大な夢は、全宇宙を創造し、ご自身の形に似せてアダムとエバを立てられた、まさにその「創造」の場から始まったのです。
1. 六千年の待ちわび、そして祝福家庭の使命
天の父母様には、切なるビジョンがおありでした。そのビジョンの始まりは、天の愛を完全に体現した真の子女、すなわち「アダムとエバの家庭」でした。たとえアダムとエバの堕落によって、人類歴史が数千年間、涙の蕩減路程を歩まなければなりませんでしたが、天の父母様のビジョンだけは決して止まることはありませんでした。
イエス様と聖霊を通して成し遂げようとされた真の家庭もまた、み旨が完全に成し遂げられなかったため、その摂理は再び2千年を待たなければなりませんでした。そしてついに 六千年の時を経て、人類歴史上初めて、文鮮明・韓鶴子ご夫妻が真の家庭を成されました。復帰されたアダムとエバの使命を完遂されたお二人は、この地上に真の父母として、そして偉大なる勝利者として来られました。
天の父母様のビジョンが、アダムとエバ、イエスと聖霊、そして文鮮明・韓鶴子・真の父母様へと続く「真の父母の摂理」であることを知るとき、私たちの究極的な目標が、まさに「真の祝福家庭」の実現であることが明確になります。
したがって、真の父母様が数多くの苦難と逆境を乗り越え、この地上に打ち立てられた最も偉大なる結実、それがまさに祝福家庭です。国家復帰と世界復帰という壮大な摂理も、結局は祝福家庭を通して成し遂げられ、天の父母様の根源的な理想である「人類一家族」は、真の人間を中心とした祝福家庭の拡大と定着から始まります。
2.「植樹」よりも『環境創造』が優先される理由
それでは天一国安着時代である今、私たちはどのようにしてこの祝福家庭を拡大し、定着させていくべきでしょうか？真の父母様は、私たちに驚くべきパラダイムの転換を語られました。
「私たちは温室の花になってはなりません。荒れた野原で風雨に打たれながら育つ野草のように、いかなる試練が来ても自ら立ち上がることのできる開拓者にならなければなりません。」
真の父母様は、荒野においても根を張る野草の強靭な生命力を強調されました。道端で人々に踏まれ、馬車の車輪に押しつぶされても、翌日には再び葉を広げて立ち上がるオオバコのように、踏まれれば踏まれるほどさらに深く根を下ろし、根をさらに深く伸ばしていく信仰の信条が必要であるというみ言です。
しかし、私たちはここで一歩さらに進まなければなりません。野草でさえ、やがては荒れて結局は、乾いた土地を耕し、自ら有機物となって、荒れ果てた砂漠を生命が息づく肥沃な大地へと変えていきます。まさにここに祝福家庭が継承すべき「環境創造」の摂理的秘訣があります。
これまで私たちは、伝道と成長そのものに重点（重き）を置き、種（未来世代）と新しい苗木（新食口）を植える「植樹」に集中してきました。しかし、どれほど良い種や苗木であっても、乾いた砂漠のような劣悪な環境では、しっかりと根を下ろすことができないというのは自然の理（ことわり）です。これが、今日私たちが伝道の現場で直面している厳しい現実でもあります。
天一国定着時代を生きる私たちが進むべき道は、単に種や苗木を植えることにとどまりません。まず生命が根付き、森が形成されたならば、今度はその森の環境を健康に管理しなければなりません。森が生き返れば、木々は互いに生命を分かち合い自生するようになり、そのように造成された生い茂る生命の基盤の上で、森はさらに広く深く拡大していくのです。
3. 竹の「節」によって繋がる世代定着
天一国信仰共同体の拡大は、秩序なき量的成長ではなく、「成長と節(締めくくり)」を通して成されます。真の父母様は次のように竹の節の比喩をくださいました。
「竹が節々を結びながら成長するように、一つ一つの峠を越えていかなければなりません。そうでなければ、折れてしまいます。」
竹が激しい風にも折れることなく、数十メートルも真っ直ぐに成長できる秘訣は、まさに成長の瞬間ごとに「節」という堅固な「結び目」を作るからです。
節のない竹は、激しい風が吹けば一瞬で折れてしまいます。
振り返ってみれば、過去に真のお父様が展開してこられた数多くの「宣布式」は、摂理が激しい風波によって折れないように、歴史的な天の聖なる節を固定する宣布式の時代であり、作業そのものでした。摂理を導かれながら、一つの段階が終わるたびに宣布式を通して摂理の節を結ばれ、それを足場として新たな摂理へと発展させてこられました。
しかし、現在の天一国安着時代は、宣布の時代を超えた「実体時代」です。真のお父様が天一国のロードマップを熾烈に描き残された場所は、他ならぬ乾いた「荒野」でした。それゆえ、その荒れ果てた荒野を切り拓き、生命が息づく肥沃な土壌へと変化させる「環境創造」は、まさに今日を生きる私たちの役割であり、責任です。
私たちが精誠を尽くして耕したこの肥沃な土壌の上で、未来世代という種と苗木が立派に育ち、天一国の鬱蒼（うっそう）とした森を成すことになるでしょう。そして、この実体時代に私たち祝福家庭が結ばなければならない最も決定的な成長の「節」は、まさにその「祝福家庭」という「世代」の連続を通して結ばれるのです。
一世代の信仰的成長は、二世代という節を通して初めて確固たるものとなります。二世代の成長は、さらに三世代という節を通して、 絶え間なく四代、五代、六代と未来世代へと持続していくことができます。もし一世代が二世代へと信仰と心情の「節」を結ぶことができなければ、一世代が生涯を捧げて築き上げた信仰の人生と成長は、そこで代が途絶えてしまうのです。
4. 私たちは天一国の知恵ある農夫にならなければなりません
イエス様はかつて私たちを農夫と種にたとえられ、多くの天の知恵を伝えてくださいました。今日を生きる私たちは、天一国の知恵ある農夫にならなければなりません。
知恵ある農夫は、決して種や木を恨んだりしません。果樹園の木がうまく育たず、病害虫に悩まされているのは木のせいではありません。種が地に落ちて芽を出すことができないのも、やはり種のせいではありません。
木が自ら花を咲かせ、実を結び、繁殖していけるように木を管理し、土壌を肥沃に耕してあげること。種が大地に落ちて安心して根を下ろせる環境を整えてあげること。これらすべてはひとえに農夫の責任です。
天がこの地上に実現しようとされた切実なるビジョンは家庭から出発し、そのみ旨がアダムとエバ、イエス様、そして真の父母様を経て、今日の私たち祝福家庭へと受け継がれてきたことを、私たちは決して忘れてはなりません。
ですから私たちの家庭を、そして私たちの教会共同体を、子女たちと新しい食口たちが息づき、健やかに成長できる肥沃な大地にしていきましょう。
環境をよく整えることは、知恵ある農夫の役割です。
天の父母様の根本的ビジョンが実現される豊かな天一国の鬱蒼（うっそう）とした森を、世界宣教本部は皆様と常に共にしながら、耕し続けていきたいと願っています。
