On June 24, Family Federation Moldova participated in a pivotal training and grant award event, marking a significant milestone in regional cooperation and social development. The event was held under the banner of a new series of grant initiatives designed to promote human rights and expand inclusive, community-based services across both banks of the Dniester River.
Backed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), this initiative serves as a catalyst for strengthening social solidarity and enhancing the quality of life for vulnerable populations in the region.
The Competitive Grant Initiative
The grant program generated substantial interest from civil society organizations dedicated to driving localized social change.
- High Engagement: The competitive call for proposals received a total of 17 applications, highlighting the vibrant interest and urgent need for social service development.
- Rigorous Selection: Following a thorough evaluation process, five exceptional projects were selected for funding.
- Financial Commitment: Each selected project received a grant of up to USD 15,000 to directly address pressing community demands and fortify the infrastructure of inclusive social services.
Spotlight on Impact: Family Federation Moldova’s Initiative
A major highlight of the award ceremony was the success of Family Federation Moldova. Working in close, strategic partnership with a non-governmental organization (NGO) from the left bank of the Dniester River, the federation successfully secured a USD 15,000 grant.
This funding is dedicated to a vital cause: sustaining and expanding the Personal Assistant Service on the left bank of the Dniester.

Core Objectives of the Project
The joint initiative focuses on two transformative pillars:
- Expanding Access to Care: The project will drastically improve access to vital, community-based support structures for persons living with disabilities, ensuring they receive the resources necessary to live with dignity.
- Elevating Caregivers: A central goal of the funding is to strengthen the formal recognition and professional standing of caregivers, formally establishing their crucial role as personal assistants within the community.
By bridging efforts across both banks of the Dniester River, this project stands as a testament to the power of cross-community collaboration. The partnership between Family Federation Moldova, its left-bank NGO counterpart, and the UNDP ensures that human rights and inclusive social safety nets remain at the forefront of the region’s development.
