True Mother’s Message at Namyangju Grand Church True Love Festival for the Unification of North and South Korea held on November 19, 2023
It has been a long time; I am so pleased to see you.
As I came here today, I don’t know if you will remember, but during the Jardim Providence, we saw large trees with very pretty flowers. And some of you may have seen the beautiful flowers blooming on the monkeypod tree on the Big Island of Hawaii.
On my way to Namyangju church…. The monkeypod tree has a trunk that when it grows large it will take 10 people to encircle it. That’s how big a tree it is. When you see that tree, the roots and trunk have become one and it is getting bigger. Yes, it grows many branches, and bears flowers and fruit. If you go to Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii, you will find a tree in the shade of which some 100 people can sit and relax during the summer.
The reason I am saying this is that it was ten years ago when I bought this church for you all. When I look to see if this church has kept the promise it made to me, fortunately, this church has many early members who have played a central role in the providence of the Unification Church. Those elders have become trunks and have grown such that they have become one with Heavenly Parent and True Parents. I pray that this beautiful church in Namyangju will grow many branches, bear fruit and blossom.
What are the current responsibilities of our blessed families who are living in the Cheon Il Guk era, the time of the completion of God’s providence? The Creator, the center of the universe, had his dream. God created the first man and woman in the divine image and gave them a period of time during which they should mature.
God waited for the first human beings, who were supposed to take the central position, to grow and perfect their characters. Yet they were unable to do so and fell, then multiplied to become the human race in the present time. Our 6,000-year history of constant war and conflict has, through human ignorance, resulted in the destruction of the beautiful planet Earth that God created for humankind. Furthermore, scientists say that there is no hope for the future of our planet, to say nothing of the future of humanity.
Heavenly Parent searched for a man and a woman who could become the victorious human ancestors. Since our almighty and all-knowing God is the same at the beginning and the end, he had no choice but to carry out the work of restoration through indemnity, the providence of salvation.
Therefore, God chose a people with the name of Israel and sent Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son, after 4,000 years. Yet at that time the people of Israel were under the yoke of the Roman Empire. Because God said he would send the Messiah, the people of Israel had been waiting with great anticipation, offering devotions. However, even though the Messiah was sent, they could not recognize him. Neither Mary, who gave birth to him, nor Zachariah’s family, nor the people knew who Jesus was. And so he was driven to the cross.
Jesus died on the cross yet said he would come again. He said that on his return he would hold the Marriage Supper of the lamb. Christianity began with resurrection by the Holy Spirit and the apostles’ writing the text of the Bible.
In the early days, there was unspeakable persecution and loss of life. Yet through the experiences and achievements of many apostles waiting for Jesus to come again—which was the realization of their dreams—many spiritual works occurred as Christianity, which began from the Italian peninsula, spread from continental Europe to the island nation of Britain. This is true.
But the problem is that Christianity did not know the original essence of Jesus. They had the heart to wait for Jesus to come again, but did not know his true nature, nor did they know the essence of the principles of creation, or that of the Creator.
With Christianity centered on the Catholic Church, many issues arose. It was from the realm where people believed in God that the communist ideology arose, with the idea that God was dead. Therefore, because there was no opportunity to deeply experience God in that human-centered system, the Reformation occurred.
It started with Luther and was established by Calvin. Therefore, Protestantism grew because pastors, elders, deacons, and believers united in a movement to attend God.
So, they moved to a new land where they were free from institutional constraints. That is the United States, today’s representative democracy. These Puritans first built a church, then a school, and finally homes for themselves.
The reason for this is because God had prepared the environment for the returning Messiah in advance. So, although there are many Protestant denominations, the American Presbyterian Church spawned a spirit-led movement on the Korean Peninsula centered on Pyongyang.
At that time, Korea was under Japanese oppression, and with the end of the monarchy, young leaders influenced by Christianity began the independence movement.
And in 1945, with the end of World War II, our country was liberated. However, Korea was divided South and North, one democratic and the other communist. What do you think is the mission of the Second Coming Messiah? What was Jesus’ hope? Why did he say he would come back? He said he would return to meet the only begotten Daughter.
The only begotten Daughter cannot be born through the people of Israel who sent Jesus to the cross. Why is this? This is because they still have indemnity remaining. You know it through your knowledge of history, right? For 2,000 years, they lived as a people without a nation. As I have said before, Heaven must without fail accomplish the completion of the providence.
For the completion of the providence, God must bring about the birth of the only begotten Daughter. In 1943 the only daughter was born on the Korean Peninsula. Calvin’s report to the Holy Roman Emperor in 1543 is the starting point; after 400 years, the only begotten Daughter was born, who had to be born on the foundation of Christianity. Many miraculous things happened, and in the end, the only begotten Daughter was born. Yet Korea was divided into North and South.
At that time, I was in the North. Why? Because we believed that the Messiah would come to Pyongyang. At that time, the men had to join the North Korean People’s Army. So we travelled to the south, as at that time, we had received the news that my maternal uncle, who had studied abroad in Japan, had not returned to his hometown but had joined the South Korean military. Can a family living under the communist system survive when one family member is serving as a soldier for South Korea?
Heaven guided us to go south. At that time, Father received his call from Jesus at the age of 16. “Please accomplish what I could not.” Then what was it that he should do? To fulfill that will, he needed to prepare. So in that situation where North and South were divided, he was told to go to the North. Why would that be?
If we look at the Old Testament in the Bible, there is always certain indemnity to pay when a central figure cannot fulfill his or her responsibility. You need to know this. In the end, when the North and South were divided and the North united with the Soviet Union, made all preparations as a communist system and was preparing to invade the South. I think relationships in South Korea were a bit complicated, so the system was prepared a little late. When the Korean War broke out in 1950, our military organization could not compare with that of North Korea. Our situation was that we should certainly lose the war. Yet if we look at the Principle of Creation, the Creator needed to give his only begotten Daughter time to mature. That is why, considering the situation in Korea, since God had to provide an environment in which I could survive, 16 UN members states were able to participate in the war.
The Soviet Union fought alongside the Allies in World War II. The Soviet Union had to not veto the motion, right? So, Heaven took care of everything and blessed the 16 nations to participate. The troops gathered from those 16 countries were almost all under the age of 20. Looking at this fallen world, we can see them as having pure blood. God permitted that they come and shed their blood in this country where Heaven’s providence had to be completed.
From the time I was born, I can say that I lived a most difficult life as an adolescent. Why would I say that? Even during the struggle between democracy and communism, during the war, really… I lived through the most difficult times. These days, I talk about the problems of youth and this and that, but because I know that God is always with me, I am able to look forward in hope even in difficult circumstances. Though I could not understand the situation in 1960, my determination to realize Heavenly Parent’s dream on earth during my lifetime remained unchanged. I saw that this could not be done without me and determined myself. I said I would do it. True Parents therefore appeared, and they gave birth to the blessed families.
After going through a long wilderness journey of 53 years, almost 60 years, I declared Foundation Day, declared Cheon Il Guk and saw its firm settlement. There was no one with me. As Rev. Yong explained earlier, it was the heart to find a single needle in a desert engulfed by a blinding sandstorm.
So, because we know what Heavenly Parent’s desire is, True Parents must experience life in the kingdom of heaven on earth in attendance of Heavenly Parent. We have to show this. You cannot do this when you have nothing to show, right? So I stepped forward. In order to establish the conditions for the restoration of the seven countries, seven tribes, and continents, I selected Africa, the most downtrodden region of the world.
At that time everyone was against it. “Why go to Africa instead of going to Europe or America, where there is a good Christian environment? And will you go to the Muslim world instead of the Christian world?” But the Muslim religious leaders welcomed me. Muslims welcome the only begotten Daughter. They say they need me. After I spoke about the providence, the president of that country also affirmed that I am the only begotten Daughter. In so doing, he became my son.
Today, Muslims and Christians are fighting each other, and Judaism is also in conflict. At the same time, I at several summits in Africa I declared that I am the only begotten Daughter.
I first spoke about the only begotten Daughter in front of American Christian pastors in the United States, after Father’s ascension. Yet those pastors said, “Why didn’t we know this truth?” They wondered why they hadn’t known something that was this obvious, and said thank you, we are grateful. When I came to Korea and said that I was the only begotten Daughter, you know what kind of attitude the elders of the Unification Church demonstrated.
The providence has developed. The Unification Church started with Teacher. When I appeared, we became the True Parents. Heaven’s hope for the True Parents is that they are equal.
I am the only begotten Daughter and True Mother. I am the mother of the universe. All 8 billion people of the world are my sons and daughters. I am a person with a public mission. I am not just the mother of one family, but the mother of the universe, a public person. So if something is not the way, or when something is wrong, I must say it is not right. The Cheon Il Guk of the Cheon Il Guk era was opened though the True Parents, by True Mother, the only begotten Daughter.
Heavenly Parent must bring Heavenly Parent’s dreams and wishes to fruition while True Mother is on earth. This must be accomplished while True Parents are on earth. That’s why I created [HJ] Cheonwon;[1] because I wanted to show how heaven on earth in Cheon Il Guk, which we should see and welcome in the future, should be.
We had to create a palace where we can substantially attend Heavenly Parent, isn’t that so? However, our Family Federation has faced many obstacles carrying out its work in an environment where the Unification Church has not yet achieved a national foundation. That’s why it has taken ten years. So, you blessed families living in the era of Cheon Il Guk must take responsibility. I showed you everything and created the environment for you. Then what should you do? Do you understand that you must accomplish national restoration?
All 50 million people in this country must come to know Heavenly Parent and live in attendance of True Parents. In this country, God raised the chosen people in order to bring about the birth of the only begotten Daughter. God cultivated the chosen people. This is 2,000 years of history. If the chosen people are unable to accomplish their responsibility, will they not have to pay indemnity? Do you understand? And so… Is Namyangju a city? You must work to become the number one city to accomplish city restoration and national restoration. You will do that, won’t you?
As I mentioned before, I pray that, like the monkeypod tree, you, the elder members and blessed families, will become the strong body of the roots representing the True Parents, who are the embodiment of Heavenly Parent, create many branches, and become a beautiful Namyangju Grand Church that bears much fruit and many flowers.

Shinheung is also here. In the future, we plan to send our graduates out to witness around the world. We also wish to train the blessed second-generation members and send them to the worldwide witnessing mission.
This is because we need to inform not only blessed families but also the 8 billion people of the world about Heavenly Parent, right? So, I am very interested in the second generation because from now on when they graduate from college—this begins next year—they will do one or two years of public service and then they can continue with their university or do what they want the following year.
The second generation is the center of the future of the blessed families; and they are flowers whom I hope will fully blossom! With that in mind, I will make a small personal donation to Namyangju Church, so please have a party together.
