THE HAGUE, Netherlands — On July 30, FFWPU Netherlands convened a meaningful conference in The Hague centered on fundamental human rights and global awareness, titled “The Vital Role of the Rome Statute in Protecting Religious Freedom in Japan.”

Nearly 30 participants gathered for the event, creating an intimate yet impactful forum for dialogue, mutual understanding, and advocacy surrounding religious liberty.

Courageous Voices and Personal Journeys

The cornerstone of the conference featured three Japanese guest speakers who offered powerful, first-hand accounts of the current situation in Japan. Through their personal testimonies, the speakers shared:

  • Firsthand Experiences: Realities and challenges facing minority religious communities in Japan today.
  • Faith Journeys: Personal narratives of resilience, personal conviction, and overcoming adversity.
  • Legal & Human Rights Context: The essential role international legal frameworks—such as the Rome Statute—play in safeguarding human rights and religious freedoms globally.
