On July 30, 2023, we held the 9th “Peace Road” in Mexico, with a 38 kilometers total route, starting at the Azteca Stadium with a middle stop at Revolution Monument downtown and ending at Azteca Stadium. With the UPF Peace Road coordination of Ms. Fabiola Castillo together with the of Alberto Chávez from CDMX Cyclist Caravan support, managed to convene more than 40 cycling clubs from Mexico City and nearby metropolitan areas.

Through the unity of the organizations of the Holy Community: FFWP, WFWP and IAYSP the UPF made possible to gather more than 300 participants who, with emotional joy and fraternity, rode the entire journey, energetically promoting the Motto of “Peace” throughout the entire bicycle tour.

At this occasion at the starting program, we count with the representative of PROSOC (social attorney) Claudia Galaviz Sánchez, with Alberto Chaves responsible for the CDMX Cycling Caravan, with the participation of Somang Flores as youth representative of IAYSP and with Víctor Castillo Secretary General of UPF-Mex among others.

The event began with the thanks to all the participating clubs and cyclists by Víctor Castillo – Secretary General of UPF-Mex, emphasizing the purpose of this cycling march, which on this occasion was celebrating the 70th anniversary of the armistice of the two Koreas, with the purpose of promoting their reunification through the motto “CONNECTING THE WORLD THROUGH PEACE”.

The representative of the Social Defender’s Office-Claudia Galaviz Sánchez shared the importance of holding this type of event to promote Peace in our society and at the same time mentioned her desire to also join future activities carried out by UPF. Alberto Chávez from the Cycling Caravan and Fabiola Castillo, UPF Coordinator of Peace Road 2023, commented on the global reach of this cycling event, which takes place in more than 194 countries under the auspices of UPF, following the vision of its Founders, the Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, inviting everyone to enjoy and practice the motto “Peace Begins With Me”.

The commemorative photos were taken at the beginning of the event and the starting signal was given, headed by the PROSOC Representative, thus starting the cycling round.

On this occasion we have the support of the Ministry of Public Security, with 4 police vehicles and 2 motorcyclists from the Basic Motorized Prehospital Care group (APMB) as well as 3 support vehicles from UPF; resulting in a well-coordinated, white-balanced activity throughout its entire run.

All the way passed in joy and with a great atmosphere of brotherhood, where good energy stood out. Thus, there were also innumerable positive expressions about the good purpose of this cycling event by those who witnessed its journey, accompanying us in the promotion of Peace.

At the halfway point of the Monument to the Revolution in the Center of Mexico City, when the entire contingent and the different support units arrived, there was a moment of celebration and joy where the isotonic drinks generated coexistence and pleasant talks about this Tour for the peace.

The cycling group rejoined and we went to the starting point at the Azteca Stadium, where upon our arrival, in addition to hydrating ourselves, we had a musical festival this year by the Musical Group of the CDMX Citizen Security Secretary for the enjoyment of all participants.

Finally, with a small group of cyclists who supported the technical and safety activities this year, we met at the Central Office of the Federation of Families in Mexico City together with the participating brothers and families, to carry out the “Presentation from Victory to Heaven in the Cheong Shim Hall”, in addition to sharing food and conviviality sharing roasted chickens and pizza, with expressions of joy and brotherhood for the success achieved.
