Slovakia Celebrates 30th Anniversary of FFWPU Inauguration with Joyful Gathering
BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA — On Sunday, October 18, members of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) in Slovakia gathered at the Peace Embassy to commemorate a historic milestone: the 30th anniversary of the organization’s inauguration. The jubilant two-hour celebration featured a rich and uplifting program that brought the community’s history to life through detailed reports, heartfelt testimonies, reflections, and song.
A major highlight of the afternoon was a nostalgic presentation by Milos Klas, who transported attendees back to the movement’s beginnings. He shared his personal experiences attending the original inauguration in Washington, D.C., and reflected on the grand national event held at Slovakia’s renowned Reduta music hall. To the delight of the audience, archival TV reports from that historic Reduta gathering were screened, notably featuring the attendance of former First Lady Mrs. Emília Kováčová, whose presence at the time drew significant media attention.
The program seamlessly blended historical appreciation with spiritual guidance. National Leader Rev. Miroslav Rybar took the stage to deliver a moving commemorative message, honoring the dedication of the members over the past three decades. Following this, former CARP leader Sylvia Jurišova provided a visual journey of the movement’s grassroots growth. Using a compelling array of historical pictures and documents, she detailed the strategy and dedication behind their past witnessing activities.
The vibrant celebration culminated in an uplifting musical performance and a commemorative cake-cutting ceremony. Following the formal two-hour program, the joyful atmosphere continued as attendees sat down together to share a warm, communal meal, cementing the bonds of friendship and faith that have sustained the FFWPU community in Slovakia for the past 30 years.
