Rev. Song Yong-cheon, President of FFWPU Korea, gave the following message to members in Korea via video at the Sunday service on July 19, 2026.
Beloved members throughout the nation,
Today, July 18, 2026, marks the 300th day since True Mother was taken into custody. It has now been exactly 300 days since September 22 of last year.
How could we possibly comprehend the loneliness and suffering that True Mother has endured throughout these 300 days?
Despite her advanced age and physical suffering, it must have been an especially lonely time, separated from the members whom she loves so dearly. When we think of those long, dark days, and of how much Mother must have prayed and wept, our hearts as her children are overwhelmed with sorrow. Nor can we begin to fathom how deeply True Father in the spirit world must be concerned as he watches True Mother’s suffering on earth.
When we think of True Parents—who spent their entire lives laughing together, weeping together, and fulfilling Heavenly Parent’s dream—now separated between the spirit world and the earthly world, each bearing this suffering, our sense of remorse as their sons and daughters grows even deeper. Yet, dear brothers and sisters, throughout this long period of hardship, True Mother has never wavered—not even for a single moment.
She has never dwelt on her own suffering. Her thoughts have remained solely on Heavenly Parent’s dream and providence and on the future of humanity and the well-being of all our members. Even at this very moment, True Mother continues to hold fast only to Heaven’s Will. That makes our sense of remorse all the greater.
Countless times we have confessed that we are the children of True Parents. But in her darkest hour, did we truly protect her? Did we truly share in her suffering? Did we truly understand her heart? These are questions we cannot help but ask ourselves.
As President of the Church in Korea, I myself feel this responsibility most deeply, knowing that I was unable to fully protect True Mother. Whenever I think of the suffering that True Mother continues to endure, I can only feel profound remorse.
On this occasion, I once again offer my deepest apology to True Mother and to all our members throughout the nation. However, simply repeating the words “I am sorry” does not absolve us of our responsibility. Our true apology to True Mother must lead to self-reflection, transformation, and concrete action.
Beloved members, throughout these past 300 days, your heartfelt efforts to protect True Mother have continued without ceasing. For 300 days, there have been members who, through rain and wind alike, have kept all-night prayer vigils outside the detention center. Others have prayed with ever greater earnestness as the night deepened, raising united prayers with all their heart until their voices were hoarse. There have also been members throughout every region, every church, and every home who have offered night prayer vigils and fasting with sincere devotion.
Some have made heartfelt offerings to help cover True Mother’s legal expenses. And more than ten thousand members stayed up through the night to write and submit petitions on her behalf.
Whenever I saw our elder members keeping vigil through the night outside the detention center, I felt both profound gratitude and deep remorse. Even now, my heart is deeply moved whenever I think of those senior members who, despite their advanced age, traveled long distances and continued offering their sincere devotion.
Of course, not every member was able to offer devotion in the same place or in the same way. Yet when it came to our heart toward True Mother, there was no such thing as near or far. Whether at home, in church, at work, from a hospital bed, or from distant countries overseas, every tear shed and every prayer offered while calling out to True Mother was a precious expression of filial devotion. All of it came from the heart of children who desired only to protect True Mother.
Beloved members, on July 10, through her final statement before the court, True Mother left us with a profound declaration that all of us should engrave deeply in our hearts. Her words were not simply an appeal to the judges. They were words that we ourselves must receive in our hearts. They were also a lifelong charge entrusted to the new generation members who will one day bear responsibility for God’s providence.
At the very beginning of her final court statement, True Mother declared:
“Throughout my life, I have attended Heaven and devoted my entire life to realizing One Family of Humankind in Peace.”
Dear brothers and sisters, the life we know True Mother has lived was never a life lived for herself.
It was a path of sacrifice, giving everything to fulfill Heavenly Parent’s dream and to embrace a humanity suffering from war and conflict.
Then True Mother spoke of an even deeper sorrow. She offered her sincere apology for the concern that had arisen under her leadership of the Family Federation and said that her heart ached deeply over what had resulted from someone in whom she had placed her trust.
Brothers and sisters, when True Mother, as both our Mother and our leader, embraced even what had occurred within our own community and apologized for it, how can we, as her children, lift up our heads before her?…
We must correct improper practices, clearly establish responsibility and accountability, and build an honest and transparent community of heart in which True Mother can place her trust with confidence. That is the true apology we can offer True Mother today, and the genuine practice of hyojeong.
Yet even then, True Mother’s concern did not remain focused on her own suffering or on the problems facing the Family Federation. That was her opportunity to speak of the injustice she had suffered and to appeal for leniency. Instead, before speaking of her own well-being, True Mother spoke first about humanity suffering from war and conflict. Rather than thinking of her own tomorrow, she was concerned first for the peaceful world that future generations would inherit, and she continued to proclaim that vision. Even in the midst of her greatest suffering, she thought first of her children and of humanity’s future. That is the very heart of True Parents.
Then True Mother left us with what may be her most important confession of faith.
“I believe. I believe that God is alive.”
Brothers and sisters, these words were a confession of absolute faith. Even while facing a heavy and dark reality, she looked beyond it to Heaven’s Will, seeing it as greater and higher still.
And that absolute faith in Heaven immediately became a lifelong determination never to stop.
“Until the end of my life, wherever I may be, I will continue moving toward that goal.”
These words express the lifelong determination of True Mother—a determination that we must now inherit. She was not merely saying that she would continue the providence. By saying, “until the end of my life,” she was dedicating the whole of her remaining life once again before Heaven.
By saying, “wherever I may be,” she declared her unchanging resolve that no circumstance—whether one of freedom or of restriction—could ever cause her mission to cease.
Beloved members, whether True Mother is in freedom, behind high prison walls, or standing in a courtroom, the center of her heart has never changed. True Mother’s determination to fulfill Heavenly Parent’s dream has never changed—not even for a moment. Not a single step toward the providence has ever ceased.
Then, brothers and sisters, how should we respond to True Mother’s words? If True Mother does not stop, how can we stop?
Today, on this 300th day, we too must make a new determination before True Mother’s resolve. Let us add our tears to Mother’s tears and transform those tears into the strength to accomplish Heaven’s Will, into a renewed determination based on hyojeong. Let us turn our remorse into the starting point for self-reflection and renewal, and transform these 300 days of prayer and devotion into the power of unity and forward progress.
Then True Mother’s faith must become our faith, and Mother’s determination must become our own determination, so that we may move forward together with her.
Brothers and sisters, this is not the time to shift responsibility onto one another, nor is it a time for division.
At this very moment, we stand at a decisive turning point in protecting Heaven’s Will. This is our struggle to overcome the distrust and division among ourselves. It is a struggle to rise above fear and remain steadfast in our faith in Heavenly Parent and True Parents.
Brothers and sisters, the strength to prevail in this decisive struggle comes through prayer and devotion, true love and sincerity, self-reflection and action. Above all, it comes through complete unity centered on True Mother.
Brothers and sisters! Now, let us truly become one and move forward together. Let us stand firmly united and overcome this difficult time, so that True Mother may be at peace. Let us become completely aligned—with True Mother, with the Church in Korea, with our districts, our churches, and all our members. Let us become completely one with True Mother’s heart—in one heart, one body, one mindset, and one harmony. And let us inherit and bring to completion the Will and the providence that True Parents have led throughout their lives.
Beloved members, God is alive. True Mother does not stop. Therefore, neither will we. And we will remain with our Holy Mother, True Mother, until the very end.
