On July 25, 2023, the 74th anniversary of the founding of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World “The Tocoistas” and the descent of the Holy Spirit in Africa, through the Prophet Simão Gonçalves Toco, was celebrated.
The Family Federation represented by the National President, Rev. Kinambuta Sambu Pedro, and the Universal Peace Federation, represented by the Secretary-General, Benvindo Wansung Pelani, were special guests of His Holiness Bishop Dom Afonso Nunes, who is an Ambassador for Peace for the Universal Peace Federation, and Spiritual Leader of the Tocoistas. The event took place on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at the Tocoistas Universal Cathedral.
Around 100,000 people participated, which included members of the government, political parties, and religious leaders who were also invited and present at the celebrations. These included: the Vice Governor of Luanda, the Governor of Uíge Province, the Vice President of the MPLA (the party in power), the Vice President of UNITA (the opposition party), the Secretary of State for the Ministry of the Family, the Leader of the Methodist Church in Angola, the Representative of the Theosophical Spiritualist Church, and the Representative of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God in Angola. This was an international level celebration, so there were delegations and representatives from Brazil, Belgium, Portugal, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia, São Tomé and Príncipe, Malawi, South Africa, and Zimbabwe as well.
Rev. Kinambuta Sambu Pedro spoke and gave congratulatory remarks on behalf of the Family Federation and Universal Peace Federation Angola. He also thanked Bishop Dom Afonso Nunes for his long-standing partnership. He emphasized that the Family Federation and Universal Peace Federation will always work together with the Tocoistas to bring about the restoration of a peaceful world based on Interdependence, Mutual Prosperity and Universal Values as a core values for helping all humanity to live for the sake others and in this way create one united human family of the world.
At the end of the program, there was a lunch offered by His Holiness Bishop Dom Afonso Nunes to all the special guests, and subsequently the cutting of the birthday cake.
