Father’s Speech on the Occasion of 20th Anniversary Ceremony For The Oceanic Providence Held On August 1, 1994 At East Garden, Tarrytown, New York. The evening of August 1, 1994, Father invited a group of leaders from various locations to East Garden. Father then spoke to them until very early the next morning, when he finished with the instructions given immediately following this speech.
How do you feel after the events of today, reviewing the developments over the past twenty years? Is it helpful to have this kind of event occasionally? For the fortieth anniversary, maybe you can rent Madison Square Garden to exhibit all that we have done. In the future, it will be really something.
Many of you have worked just in the restaurant business or in the fishing business, without thinking about the big future of the combined fishing industry. You thought we had a shipyard in Alabama and that was it. Our shipyard in Motpo [Korea] has a larger capacity. We can make any boat, even sightseeing boats and oil tankers.
PRODUCE AND SELL FIBERGLASS BOATS
Boats made in Korea are very popular around the world, because the handiwork is better. Even small countries need transportation to market their agricultural products. In the future, there will be free trade among all countries, and all kinds of goods will be transported. Traffic in small ports will increase tremendously, and midsize boats will be in great demand. South Korea will need good, small, fast fiberglass boats for trade with North Korea. We have great potential, because we build boats that are stronger and cheaper than the competition. We can build boats for North Korea and even Japan, China and Russia. Small boats can also travel upriver deep into the continent.
You do not need a large factory to build fiberglass boats. You can build them in your backyard. No great skill is necessary; you can learn boat-building in a few hours. All you have to do is paste one layer on top of another, and pretty soon you have a boat. If you are smart, you can learn the basics in ten minutes. Retired people will come and work on the boats because it is fun.
Many members are joining in Zaire; if we start making these boats in Zaire, hundreds and thousands of people will come! Since it takes no special skill to make fiberglass boats, opportunities are unlimited. The question is who takes the initiative. I have been thinking about this for many years. The time is right.
The challenge now is how to sell the boats. Since they are cheaper and better than the competition, it should not be too difficult to sell them. People will find that the boats handle beautifully.
Even in the poorest countries some people have automobiles, or at least trucks. Besides being a means of transportation, boats can be used for sightseeing and fishing.
These are great pastimes. I encourage all Unification Church members to learn how to pilot a boat. Investigate what kind of boat is best suited for sightseeing, fishing and general handling in the various climates around the world. I am quite sure the ideal boats are our Good Go and One Hope boats. When the time comes, I have the foundation to do the advertising.
THE TIMES HAVE CHANGED
In the past forty years, I reached the peak and went over the hill. I did only very narrow activity, but now that we have crossed the pinnacle, we can do many things. The spirit world I has come very close to earth, and everything is becoming connected and united. Differences are becoming equalized.
Some people casually note the changes of seasons, while others instantly recognize the signs that spring has come. Perceptive people realize that this is a transition time, the beginning of the Completed Testament Age, the age of settlement of True Parents. What was merely conceptual in the past has become a distinct change of season.
High-level people have changed their perspective about the Unification Church over the last two years. Before that, they looked at us as just a small group; now they realize that we are ushering in a new world.
Those of you who have been engaged in the fishing industry did not know what was going on in the political and economic areas. As you now see, I have done plenty of things. I focused on vertical development, rather than horizontal expansion. Our resources are ready to be deployed any time. Now the times have changed, and people know that they have nothing to gain by opposing the Unification Church. They will stop opposing us so much.
Do we want to be out-done by others or win the competition? Of course, we want to win. To do so, we have to work harder and with greater concentration and confidence. If outside people work eight hours, we have to work nine or ten hours.
One reason our fish distribution center has been so successful is that it stays open until midnight to obtain what the customer wants. If we do not have the stock, we ask Washington to send a supply. The restaurants trust us now. The only way to secure markets is through service.
USE OUR INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS
One of our strongest points is that we transcend national barriers. We have the organization capable of training many people. Alaska is a vast land where we can train unlimited people. Mobilization is the key word. We can offer tours to members of the Women’s Federation for World Peace and the Professors World Peace Academy. We can recommend the best swimming places and the best mountain resorts. People can truly relax, surrounded by the purity of nature. They long for such experiences, and they will come when we provide the opportunity.
With improved social and political systems, people will not have to work so hard in the future; machines will do the job. If people need to work only a few hours, they will not want to be confined to a house and cook three meals a day. It would be better to develop good portable meals and spend more time traveling, sightseeing and doing good deeds.
People can take courses, through the media, from top-rated professors in each specialty. Through the information highway, people will have access to specialized documents, rare books and vast archives. In this way education will be readily available anywhere they travel.
People can obtain an education through cable television; they can call in their questions over the telephone. All they need to do is to go to school a few hours for an examination; if they pass, they get diplomas. We are beginning to set up a standard college curriculum, using the best scholars and professors.
People seek convenience. They want fresh, healthy foods. They are concerned about a healthy lifestyle. If we want to stay healthy throughout our life span, we need to eat vegetables fresh from the earth. Agricultural chemicals and radiation are killing people.
Our way of life will become simpler and more unified. Maybe in the future, it will be possible to fit everything you need for several weeks in one knapsack, including concentrated food and a fold-up tent. If you have an automobile, you can hitch a trailer and boat to your car and go anywhere. This will bring about a more unified culture, reducing the differences among countries.
Permanent underwater facilities can be built, where people can live surrounded by the calmness of the ocean. Otherwise, where can we accommodate the exploding population? If you dive down ten meters it is very calm; thirty meters below the surface of the ocean, it is absolutely calm. People can come to the surface when they want fresh air. Space travel, by contrast, is much more cumbersome and hazardous.
LEARN TRUE PARENTS’ LANGUAGE
National boundaries are less of a problem than language barriers. To translate something into a hundred different languages is cumbersome and complicated. We have to solve the language problem, no matter how difficult. No educational theory can resolve the differences among languages. Only religion can do it. The responsibility of religion is to convey the most comprehensive perspective of humanity.
The concept of True Parents is an absolute perspective. People must use the language spoken by the Lord of the Second Coming, since it secures a connection with him. Because that language is used in the eternal, spiritual world, people have to learn it here. If you do not learn that language here, how do you pro-pose to learn it in the spirit world?
When I speak fast in Korean, the Koreans nod with under-standing, but some Western members just sit there like stuffed birds. If language is unified, I can give directions in one language and accomplish a hundred times more.
You are proud of English, but it has no vertical implications. It is a flat language or a sung num language, as we say in Korean.
English is like the speech of manual laborers; it is confusing and degrading. English is inadequate for expressing vertical relation-ships, such as with royalty, parents, teachers, elder brothers or uncles, for which there are ten levels of formality in the Korean language. English has only one word for “you,” whether the person is addressing his father, an elder brother, a younger brother or a teacher. It is like a flat desert.
Japanese scholars consider Korean a superb language. NHK, the Nihongo Broadcasting Company, teaches five-year-olds Korean, because if people can master the sounds of Korean, they will have no problem learning to speak other foreign languages. Korean pronunciation embraces the sounds of all languages.
Generally, Koreans speak better English than other immigrants. When Koreans go to China, after ten years they speak Chinese just like the Chinese. Korean children who come to America at age ten speak English almost as well, wit in five year, as American children. In contrast, American children spend five to seven years at the Sung Hwa School in Korea and come back speaking only a little Korean. Un Jin Nim and In Jin Nim came to America as per-schoolers. They entered elementary school here. Their Korean is perfect, of course, and their English is also perfect, isn’t it?
The Korean language encompasses a variety of sounds; it is very adaptable. The brain cells actually work harder and faster because they have to cope with such a variety of adjectives and adverbs. Take, for example, the color red. I can name two or three shades of red in English, but we have at least fifty different ways of describing redness in Korean. There are some 320 terms for cooking rice, no two of them the same. Koreans are extremely well trained in political affairs. Their interpretation of politics is quite precise. For 5,000 treacherous years of their history, Koreans had to survive. They maintained the purity of their race, rarely marrying outside it.
It was no coincidence that I came from the Korean culture. God nurtured the Korean culture. You wait and see. After three or four generations of international blessed marriages, many bloods will be mixed. Children will prefer to communicate in Korean, because through Korean they can connect with the realm of True Parents and the royal family; there are so many advantages to learning Korean.
Whom will your children wed? It is your ideal for them to wed True Parents’ offspring, isn’t it? The number one consideration will be their ability to speak Korean. Language forms your personality. Some day your sons and daughters will accuse you for not teaching them the language of your original homeland. I am not saying this to make you feel miserable. I cannot emphasize this too much.
Do cows speak different languages according to their nationality? Do pigs speak different languages? Do birds speak different languages? Because of the fall, language differences arose.
Do you know how hard I have tried .to learn English at the age of seventy? I spent hours trying to learn English to speak with you. I put that much love into it. It is far better for you to learn Korean. There will be a day where all official meetings will be conducted in Korean. Can you learn Korean?
Knowledge of Korean will not make you a technical wizard or engineering genius, but to speak and understand True Parents’ language will raise your value in the spirit world. How can you inherit something without speaking the language? I used to think that the translations of my speeches were nearly perfect; but now, as my English has improved, I realize that there is no way English can express the depth of my thought. A partial translation is not good enough.
The preservation of a nation or a race is a small matter compared to the unification of language, because language differences cause so many difficulties and hinder the solution to many problems. People build great armed forces to protect their nation, but language is much better protection than weapons.
You can master the basics of the Korean alphabet in thirty minutes. To learn the exceptions to the rules takes a few days. I understand English much better than I speak it. My understanding is nearly perfect. I notice inferior translations.
Japanese is a language suited for children and ignorant women. When I say this to Japanese scholars, they laugh and agree. Therefore, this is not overstating the case.
Korean is a worthwhile language for you to learn. You will never regret it. When Japanese want to speak with Chinese people, Koreans are perfect go-between. Since Koreans are such understanding people, because of the depth of their language, people confide in them. God gave one of the best presents to the Korean race, which is the unsurpassed Korean language.
ALASKA IS BEAUTIFUL
Today we brought together everything we have been doing over the past twenty years and made it visible. Do you fee] that you have accomplished a lot over the past twenty years? With good financial resources and complete planning, we can do many, many valuable things for humankind.
People who have learned to know Unification Church members feel closer to them than to their own sons and daughters. There are many examples of this. Sometimes people want to pass on their inheritance to our members rather than to their own children, because they trust us. They know we are honest people. That means God wants to believe in Unification Church members.
Those who have been to Kodiak, Alaska, do you want to go back? I really miss Alaska. In Alaska at this time, we wear woolen underwear. On the mountains there is still snow. In the sea, you see an endless variety of fish. You can drop a fish hook any-where and a fish will strike. What excitement! Once you go there and experience such a life, nobody can stop you from wanting to return. The flat areas of Kodiak Island are fully occupied, while the mountains are still vacant. I want to build roads, camps and luxury villas. Visitors can go down to the water, fish and really relax. People will appreciate that opportunity and will come.
They will never forget the excitement of fishing. The view in Alaska is beautiful: clouds, snow, mountains, green plants, blue sea, sea gulls, clear air, clear water. Alaska is a fresh, new land. People forget all their stress in the excitement of catching a halibut twice as wide as they. After several tries, you can pull the fish into the boat, where it thrashes around. When you pierce its heart with a knife, the boat is filled with its blood. You can catch many fish surrounded by the beautiful sights and sounds of nature. People remember such experiences and the friendships they make there for their whole lifetimes.
Here it is hot in the summertime, but not in Alaska. You need a blanket. It is a wonderful place in the summertime. After such an experience, people will not want to go to any other resort area. Japanese and Europeans will come; the international business community will seek such an experience. You can invite your guests to go fishing and sightseeing there.
We have many boats and a variety of airplanes. Which lifestyle would you choose for your relatively brief stay on earth: the lifestyle of Alaska or the sweaty, bickering life of the city? If you want to go to Alaska, you have to learn how to handle boats. I am very serious about making a resort area there. Once people visit Alaska, they will want to return there. There are endless opportunities.
[Father spoke for a while in Japanese and then in Korean. He asked Mr. Dong Moon Joo to give a report about the Washington Times and the recently-established national edition. He talked about plans for a future international edition.]
I have been persecuted by the media in this country. For the last forty years, the news media all over the world have attacked me, starting in Korea and extending to Japan and America. Now in the African countries they attack me. To stop this ridiculous persecution, we have to do something to subdue the media. I decided to begin a newspaper in Washington, D.C. The Washington Post did not think we posed much of a threat to them, but now they know that we are not weak foes. In quality and in coverage, many people recognize that the Washington Times is at a higher level. The Washington Times has a national edition, whereas the Washington Post remains a local paper. I have all the foundations and connections to make a daily newspaper anywhere in the world.
Until now my objective was to establish things vertically, because you have to cross over the ridge. Now resources can be deployed horizontally. Those of you in the fishing businesses are not isolated. You can immediately connect with a vast network.
Through politics and the news media, we can support each other. You have to have that foundation. Not only can you create an independent newspaper in each of the fifty states, but you can establish a newspaper in each large city. We will then influence things in a positive direction. Someone has to put a stop to the decadence of liberalism, homosexuality and drug abuse.
I do not do this for personal ambition. This is the only way to save America. As a foreigner, I invested in America. I am more serious about America’s future than any white person or any American. Furthermore, nobody helped me. The CIA and FBI have been watching me. Some of you wanted me to leave America alone. Alone for what? To perish? Now you see the foundation I laid and the foundation we all have. It is too big for any country to oppose. People recognize that it is a good foundation. We need to develop a similar movement in other countries.
We consistently maintain our outreach to the news media, scholars and even home church. Whatever we do, our goal is consistent. The family is the goal of our movement. The targets of our tribal messiah activity are families. The intended impact of our newspaper is the home. We are moving toward that direction very concretely, through the Women’s Federation. Everything is geared to the salvation of the home. We are working to restore the fallen base of Adam and Eve.
We absolutely need confidence now. The world is in the hands of God, True Parents and the True Family. Evil trends will not continue. Blessed families will be planted everywhere. Where is the settlement of True Parents? In the home.
WE SHOULD LOVE THE WATER
The land, sea and sky are either green or blue, the colors of comfort and solace. No matter how much you look at green objects, your eyes never get tired. We love the ocean because the ocean is water and much of the human body is water. The clouds floating in the sky are composed of water vapor. Water makes everything function.
Once water stops flowing, it becomes stagnant and plants decay. Water has to be always on the move. The Hudson River will continue flowing for hundreds of thousands of years. Every-thing you see is moving, because its water content is always on the move. We are living in the midst of all moving things.
Since you are made up of water, you must love water. Like water, when you stop moving, you begin to stagnate. The faster the water flows, the more it is purified. It is the same for human beings. The ocean moves constantly and never stands still, because that is how it sustains life. The movement of the waves oxygenates the water.
If the water has little oxygen, how can the fish live? You may be frightened when you are in the middle of a typhoon, but the fish rejoice because they are getting lots of oxygen. We should rejoice on behalf of the fish.
People, too, must be always moving. Since you drink water, you should be more mobile than the water itself. Water moves slowly down the Niagara River, but when it comes to the precipice, it drops with torrential power and creates a big spray. Where a stream meets a big rock the water goes around the rock, but the separate currents rejoin. This demonstrates the original pattern of flowing.
Persecution stuns you, of course, but can you regain your original composure? Like water, you have to. Many people find it difficult to endure persecution, but we should understand the lesson of water. In our body, the blood constantly circulates. Exercise helps purify the blood and sustain health.
We must understand how precious the ocean is. If we lost the ocean, no one could be proud of anything on the land. The ancestor of life is water, and the ocean is the storehouse of water. Therefore, we should love water as much as God. Water is also the essence of beauty. Have you ever seen a beautiful scene without water? Water adapts to everything. It has no shape of its own. It never insists on its own shape.
If you truly understand water, you do not have to read the Bible to perfect yourself or to understand God. Baptism means to enter the water and come up reborn. When we spend a long time watching a river flowing, we feel our body fluids moving along with it. Have you watched clear, flowing water to the point where you feel purified, all the dirt washed out of you?
To love water is the first step of loving all existence, because all existence is made up of water. Do you love just a cupful of water, a lake full of water or an ocean full of water? If you love the ocean with such a heart, you can take to the sea every day. When the sea becomes a bit rough, the blood in your body flows back and forth and is purified. That is why fishermen are healthy. When I spend six months on the boat, I lose weight and my stomach becomes flat. In the winter it goes out again. You always have to try to keep your balance on board a ship, especially when the sea is rough. Without your being aware of it, your brain has to work to keep the balance. This will keep you from getting senile. Every day on the ocean is a cleansing process.
LISTEN TO YOUR INNER SELF
People do not get many opportunities to talk to themselves. Riding on a boat is the ideal time to talk to yourself. You get many hours to talk to yourself. When you get the knack of talking to yourself, you can hear your inner self speaking. Your inner self will prophesy to you, telling you what will happen that day. Out on the ocean, mind and body can become good friends. That is the beauty of riding on a boat. When it is just you and the boat on the ocean, your mind and body become harmonized. That is the perfect time for God to visit you. Such unusual experiences happen on a boat.
It is easier to pray while riding a boat than while on your knees. On the land there are many miscellaneous noises; people talk, the wind blows, rats run around. On a boat, there is just water. Not even an occasional fly bothers you on the ocean. This is the setting for swooyang, a combination of meditation and self-discipline in harmony with the spirit world. When things become chaotic, I always take to the sea.
All alone on a Good Go boat I can talk over many things. Although riding a boat is not so comfortable because the body always has to try to keep its balance, it is a good setting for the spirit to concentrate.
I have been sharing with you my lifelong secret of how to keep healthy and holy through living close to the source of life, which is water. If you always seek to train yourself and train others, you will be a victor. Everywhere you go, try to train somebody in the direction of righteousness. Keep trying to train yourself and improve yourself; then you will succeed. Such people command the respect of others. Each of us wants to be respected and successful. If you are anxious to save even one life, talking all night long with the intensity of a mother laboring to give birth to a baby, God will remember you and keep your name in His notebook. When you go to the spirit world, you will be honored and respected forever.
WE TOIL ON BEHALF OF THE FUTURE
August 1 is the anniversary of Mother’s successful completion of her speaking tour. The first day of August also marks the beginning of the ocean providence twenty years ago. August is always a time for making a new start in the Unification Church. In this time of historical transition, the nature of our movement is changing.
Until now we toiled hard to save people on earth, but from now on, we are toiling on behalf of the future and for the young people. Our attitude should change after this transition day. The past is fallen history. We have to do away with it. To focus on working to benefit yourself and your family is self-centered thinking. From today on we will live for the sake of humankind, following God’s way of thinking. We constantly work hard to prepare for tomorrow. In the past we worked to prepare for the present, but from now on, we will work to prepare for the future. In the past, we sought to preserve ourselves, but now we invest for tomorrow.
Man was born for the sake of woman, and woman was born for the sake of man. Both men and women were born for love, not for themselves. We were born for love, because that is how we meet God. Without loving, we cannot meet God. You should clearly understand that you were not born for yourself. Individualism has no intrinsic meaning. Think about what you will leave behind for your wife and children. I have always encouraged you to work for the sake of the family. Once you establish your family, you should live for the sake of your clan and your race. In the past you repeated these phrases by rote memory, but now you have to begin living them.
The time is constantly changing. Kim Il Sung’s death was not random. It has great significance. The false father had to leave because True Father has arrived.
BECOME A GOOD SUBJECT
[Mr. Joo gives a report about the Washington Times.] Though your daily life may be difficult, uphold the standard of the Unification Church. Though the Unification Church faces difficulty, people will form an opinion of the Unification Church by observing you, and members will form an opinion about the church by observing you, their leaders.
The history of indemnity is the history of re-creation. Salvation history is restoration history. Restoration means re-creating the history of creation. The formula of re-creation follows the pattern of God’s original creation. Before God created living things and people, He prepared the air, earth, water and sun. Without those four, nothing can exist or develop.
Furthermore, everything exists as subject and object. Things can never exist in chaos. We have two eyes and two nostrils because of subject-object relationships. The important features of the face all have subject-object elements. The eye signifies the sun, the nose signifies air, the mouth signifies water, and the food we eat is from the land. Always there is a subject-object relationship. Until subject and object unite, there is no center. The nose signifies Adam and Eve, and the eyes represent God. The mouth is horizontal. The ears signify the four directions.
The formula is always subject and object. When a man’s mind and body unite as subject and object, he needs another object, a woman, with whom to form a family. Together then they seek a bigger subject, the clan. This is the formula of development. When you become a great clan, you seek a much bigger plus, which is the nation. Development always involves searching for a bigger subject. By uniting with ever greater subjects, we become closer and closer to God.
You must re-create the environment, following God’s pattern of creation. Just as God created the sun, you have to make yourself available as a source that everybody can respect. Everybody who sees you should draw inspiration from as their subject. Secondly, like a nose, you have to give people air to breathe. You also have to feed people and give them the water of life. You must always think like that because you are the subject. You need these spiritual resources. Train yourself to become the kind of person people will long to see. If they do not see you for two days, they should miss you so much that they will come to you. Conduct yourself as a good subject, winning the respect of your object.
The subject is the vertical being who bears the seed of life. Women want to receive that life seed. Historically people demanded that women be chaste. From this time on, men will also be expected to remain chaste. Always bear in mind that your seed of life can only exist in vertical soundness.
Sometimes you wish somebody would make a donation to help you in your work. Development will never take place that way. Development always follows the formula way. You cannot ask people to respect you without developing yourself. You have lived with me for twenty years, but I never used you. I have
repeatedly invested money, time, and spiritual power and then forgot. I do not keep calculating how much I invested in America. To the degree that I forget what I invested, the object comes into being. When the new object springs up, it is the missing part of yourself.
USE THE SUBJECT-OBJECT FORMULA
The object’s characteristics are different from those of the subject. These different expressions of your character will not show up unless you forget yourself. Therefore, keep investing more and then forget. It is very important to forget, so your object can become better, broader and higher. Have you thought like that or are you just “work-along” people, acting without thinking?
Remember the law of creation, which requires clear subject-object relationships. If you have only one nostril, can you expect great development? If you have only one eye or one lip, your development is limited. Proper subject-object relationships are required for growth. The relationships among family members and in political and economic settings are all subject-object relations. Without a relationship, subject and object cannot exist. Without subject and object, a relationship cannot exist. Without a horizontal being, the vertical cannot take hold.
We use the model of Cain-Abel relationships to explain things. It goes against reason for the second son to take the position of the first son. How unnatural it is! Abel’s position is God’s original center of creation. The younger brother has to gain that position, and the older brother needs to assume the position of the younger brother. Because this change of position seems unnatural, there is always fighting. However, we have to surmount the difficulties and elevate the right side.
Often people remark that when I take to the sea, the fish prefer my bait. I look at the fishing rod as my object. Since the perfect subject must create the perfect object, I know that the fish must bite. Whatever I touch turns into the perfect object to me.
If I go to a bar, I cannot say to the people there, “Oh, you evil beings.” I have to, first, recognize people for what they are. They may be bad, but as long as they exist, I know that there must be a subject-object relationship. Even criminals use the subject-object relationship. When a criminal points a gun at somebody, he has no choice except to follow the criminal. Criminals can be very strongly bonded together by force.
You should use the same subject-object formula. If you are speaking to a group, do not just assume that you are the subject and they are the objects. Look at the people and learn to know them; then adjust your relationship to them as either object or subject. Once you have established a subject-object relationship, you can speak your message. When I look around here, I see you as scattered grains of sand. I have to bring you into unity. That is why I am speaking about the subject-object relationship. Sometimes it takes a long time to create unity out of such a scattered group of people.
I do so by focusing, first, on one person and then drawing people into unity around him. After creating that unity centered on three people, I can take a strong subject position; then I speak. You should know these laws, because they come in handy. Since you did not know how to use such laws, your development has been limited.
As a subject, the mother has to give milk to the baby. Even grown-ups are still eager to get into the mother’s bosom. Filial sons and daughters will never turn against their mother. Your loving mother’s bosom is the subject of life, and you are drawn to it, despite your age. If as Unification Church members, you open your bosom and give milk to new babies, people will never leave you, even after they have grown up.
American women popularly preserve their breasts-for what, nobody knows. They give their babies cow’s milk and bind up their bosoms. With such mothers, where is people’s root of love? Where is their attachment? This is serious, dead serious.
We must create the proper environment. Among human beings, animals and plants, there is always plus and minus. We find plus-minus relationships everywhere, so we have to adapt to them. Wherever you go, you must establish good subject-object relationships.
You are hungry and you want to eat some food. Have you loved humankind more than that? Do you rush to give love to people with as much eagerness as you break a seven-day fast? If you rush to eat after your seven-day fast, no purpose is served. The purpose of fasting is to get close to God. We have to be as anxious to clarify the subject-object relationship as we are to end a fast.
How many people did you witness to, and how much money did you make? How much did you invest into the work of re-creation, and how much of it did you forget? God settled on earth at the time of Isaac and Jacob. Why could He not land earlier, perhaps millions of years before? Why did it take God so long to find an object? It would have been much easier to create something from nothing than to turn things right side up after they had become upside down.
LOVE YOUR ENEMY’S CHILDREN
Originally, the offspring of a perfect family would automatically go to the Kingdom of Heaven. However, because of the fall, you have to restore people. Restoration requires loving a person more than your own next of kin. Otherwise, you cannot go to heaven. There is no foundation for you to go to the Kingdom of Heaven without loving your enemy’s son more than your own son. This is easy to say, but difficult to do. God repeatedly tried to get a response from humankind and did not succeed until the time of Isaac and Jacob.
You kicked out the brothers and sisters who you thought were causing you trouble. You disowned them, didn’t you? Have you ever stopped to think that you should love them because they are your enemy’s children and you cannot enter heaven without loving them? Have you persevered and loved them? There is no way to restore fallen people unless you love your enemy’s children more than your own life. This is the standard for liberation. If you do not abide by this law, you are not going to gain any fruit, no matter how hard you work. If you become one with God as a perfect plus, your minus will be drawn to you, like a magnet attracted to your strong mind of love.
It is better to come to this realization late than never. We are in a very miserable situation today. I said often that unless you love your Cain-type children more than your own children (who are like Abel), you cannot restore them. It sounds paradoxical, but it is the only way to restore people. Unless you abide by this law, God cannot help you. I expect you to understand this and put it into practice from now on.
Raise your children up to your level and let them take over your position. You can then leave to do more important work. You need to raise people who will nurture all the young brothers and sisters, the new members. You have to teach them from the parental position.
When I created the American Freedom Coalition, everyone seemed to be inspired. When I give you money, you do the work; but when I stop giving you money you become stagnant. Now look at you! You must follow the formula of subject and object. When subject and object become one, then the center of true love is established. True love begins when you give up yourself.
I WANTED YOU TO BECOME TOP LEADERS
How long have you been in the Unification Church? An average of twenty years? How many people have you raised around you? Restoration means to revive people. To become like that, you need true love.
Remember how your eyes squinted when I announced that you were going to go to Africa? I wanted to make you the top leaders of this country, nothing less. I wanted to see senators and members of Congress following you. Before you go to a new mission, you should have two or three legislators following your example.
I am working to bring unity between South Korea’s president and North Korea’s president. My power is stronger than that of either the South Korean government or the North Korean government. Neither side can bring the two together, but I can. If I go this formula way, the outcome will be eternal. I cannot attack them and occupy them.
It has taken me a long time to accomplish things, because you did not know this principle. Now you do. You cannot sleep longer than your members and become the center person. You cannot eat better food than the average members and become their center. Do not make people your servants. You are in the parent’s position. With a parental heart, you have to feed people and put them to sleep before you can go to sleep. Have you lived that way? Your conscience knows that you have not followed that principle. Unless you create the proper subject-object relationship, you cannot advance.
Do you remember your pledge to become a top gun? I have created a large objective sphere by adhering to that principle. The spirit world helps because it conforms to the law no matter what you do, otherwise, it does not work.
You need to change drastically. Throw away the old way of thinking. Now you have the Family Pledge. You are qualified to recite that pledge only after your mind and body unite and after you become one with your spouse and children. Because of the fall, each of these three relationships has been severed. Now we have to restore them. We have to change the fallen life, love and lineage into the true life, love and lineage.
You are blessed couples. Do you ever fight with each other? You should never fight, causing your spouse to cry. Pledge never to show your children such tears. Your children will follow your pattern. Your family is the reflection of yourself.
I wanted you to become the hedge against the evil invading the country, but you have not played that role well. I made many vertical connections that you can take and connect horizontally. Make yourself the center of your state, for instance. Think of yourself as the new creator of your state, in God’s place. Invest and forget. Follow the living formula, centering on me. If you stand in the center, representing all humankind, new creation will spring forth. Resolve never to make a mistake in the course of re-creation.
We are living in the time of the second generation. You do not have to pay attention to people older than fifty. Those who were born after 1945 belong to my realm. I am extending this realm seven more years to include people up to the age of 55. I want to preserve even the narrow bridge. This age group can have a tremendous influence over society. Primary and secondary school students are still under their parents’ wings. Even college students come in and out of their mother’s bosom.
Beyond that age, they are under the wings of society and the nation. My shortcut to influence the world is to reach out to college students and alumni.
[To one leader:] Do not be too quick to speak, but rather restrain yourself. Do not criticize people, but have a generous attitude. Embrace people rather than shouting at them. Now that you have experience, you should use discretion. I do not want you to be mediocre. Instead of criticizing your Korean leader, work harmoniously with him; otherwise, you will just drift from one place to another place, never settling down.
