Reflection
Ms. Alma B. Chung, Blessed Family Member, FFWPU Region 12

First and foremost, my heartfelt greetings to Heavenly Parent and True Parents, to all leaders present here tonight, and to all family members participating in this special event.

The first time I attended the Cheon Shim Won Prayer Night Vigil was in November of last year. I managed to join the vigil for at least four Fridays before I became ill and was admitted to the hospital.

In July 2020, due to hypertension, I experienced a mild stroke and was hospitalized again. I had a high fever that left me so weak that even simple tasks like combing my hair were strenuous. My strength was drained, and I could not get out of bed.

This prompted me to pray fervently. I made a great effort to raise my hands and utter the names of True Parents in a subdued voice, calling “Aboji! Omoni!” I was in deep pain, and during those moments of agony in my hospital room, I couldn’t understand what I was feeling. I asked for a pain reliever to ease my suffering and continued with deep prayers. It was then that I realized True Parents’ sufferings and the painful experiences they endured in restoring humanity.

That was the moment I knew I needed to endure my own pain because I was reminded that I am merely a sinner. I then declared, “Who am I to complain and cry so much when I am experiencing pain incomparable to the sufferings of True Father?”

After that realization, the pain I felt subsided. This motivated me to pray hard, expressing deep gratitude to Heavenly Parent and True Parents.
