Lebanon – FFWPU/YSP Lebanon support and cooperate with “Mission Village” for humanitarian aid / refugee support
Amid the escalating conflict in Lebanon, our efforts have been focused on providing humanitarian aid while continuing daily online devotions in partnership with Korea.
For three weeks until April 20, FFWPU and IAYSP Lebanon collaborated to prepare and serve 80 meals for refugee families who were displaced from southern Lebanon and Beirut due to the ongoing war. These families are currently being hosted at Mission Village, a Christian NGO with whom we maintain close cooperation, allowing us to support them by preparing daily dinners.
The activities were enriched by the participation of volunteers, including the children of a YSP member, who assisted in the kitchen and later spent time playing with the younger children. Another YSP member engaged meaningfully with several children through reading and personal interaction. These shared moments have been deeply valuable, fostering genuine connection and mutual understanding.
Our team experienced great joy in serving, while the refugees expressed heartfelt appreciation for the care and love extended to them during such a difficult time. We are grateful to have been able to bring moments of comfort and happiness into their lives.
At the end of each day, we gathered to celebrate together through singing and dancing. Despite the hardships facing the country, these moments created a space for unconditional giving, joy, and deep human connection.

Birmingham, UK – Interfaith Study Evening “Principles of Peace” at the Earle’s
On Tuesday, April 21st, we held a Principles of Peace study evening, attended by more than 60 participants from a wide range of religious and cultural backgrounds. The gathering included Muslim, Christian, and Sikh leaders, many of whom are active members of our Women’s Peace group. We were especially pleased to welcome several first-time attendees, whose presence brought a refreshing and vibrant energy to the evening.
David Earle delivered a thought-provoking presentation on “The Origin of Conflict and Suffering in Our World.” In a time when many people are deeply concerned by the scale and intensity of global conflicts, the topic resonated strongly with those present. The presentation drew on quotations from a variety of sacred scriptures, offering a unifying perspective that spoke across faith traditions.
Following the presentation, Patricia Earle facilitated a reflective discussion, inviting participants to share their insights and responses. Contributions came from faith leaders as well as younger voices, creating a rich and balanced dialogue that highlighted both experience and emerging perspectives.
A particularly moving moment of the evening was a performance by Rev. Maureen Foxall, who sang “Make Me a Channel of Your Peace,” adding a deeply spiritual dimension to the gathering.
The evening concluded with a shared meal, providing an opportunity for informal connection and fellowship. New friendships were formed, and existing ones were warmly renewed. Notably, Sheikh Nuru Mohammed, Rev. Malachie Munyaneza, and Kuldip Singh Ubhi were reunited, having previously traveled together to Korea for the World Summit 2020, shortly before the outbreak of COVID-19.
In summary, the event was a meaningful and uplifting occasion of learning, reflection, and shared commitment to peace. It encouraged all participants to continue their personal and collective efforts toward fostering peace within themselves, their families, and the wider world.
