True Mother’s Message at the Closing Ceremony of Special Training in the Theology of True Parents for Heavenly Korea Church Leaders, held on March 7, 2024
I have been waiting so long to meet you. Sixty-three years have passed.
As you will be going out into the world and should in particular be working to restore the Christian realm, I would like to talk with you about Jesus.
Following the Fall, Heaven had to conduct the providential history of salvation. God chose the people of Israel. Yet, how difficult must it have been for God to lay the foundations for individuals, families, tribes, ethnic groups and the nation that it took God 4,000 years to send His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ? Moreover, when Heavenly Parent saw His only begotten Son, whom he could call his own, having to go to the path of the cross after only 33 years on earth, and in the unimaginable situation of being crucified with thieves on both sides of him, what would have been in the heart of our Heavenly Parent?
Despite his pain over losing the final time to complete his responsibilities, Jesus prayed, “Yet not my will, but yours be done.” You know the Bible also mentions the thieves crucified to Jesus’ left and right. The thief on the left mocked Jesus, while the thief on the right spoke out, saying that Jesus had committed no sin. What did Jesus say to that man when he said that? He said, “Today, you will be with me in paradise.” Jesus did not refer to the kingdom of heaven, but rather to paradise. And he said that he would return.
Nevertheless, today if we examine the history of Christianity, we see it was initiated by the apostles’ resurrection by the Holy Spirit, yet they did not understand the essence of Jesus. They did not understand why Jesus had to return. In particular, they did not understand that Jesus should have married and become the True Parent, and that this would occur at the Second Coming, as was later revealed in the prophecy of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
In other words, fallen humanity did not know what the essence of the Creator was. God worked through the providence of salvation and through Jesus, yet Jesus’ essence was not understood. Christianity began in this way. Jesus, however, said he would return. Jesus had to return.
The beginning and end of Heaven’s providence must be the same. There can be no concept of failure. Since failure is always followed by indemnity, the truth must be revealed in the era of the completion of the providence.
The only begotten Son was born 2,000 years ago, but the only begotten Daughter did not appear. Because of the indemnity they had to pay, the only begotten Daughter could not come through Israel.
Heaven raised the Korean people, among whom the only begotten Daughter could be born for the sake of the completion of the providence. You all have received training in the Theology of True Parents, so you are all familiar with this topic, aren’t you?
Over the past 2,000 years, Christianity has been unable to grasp the essence of Jesus. Many mistakes occurred as a result of a human-centered focus. Communism, which asserts that there is no God, thus arose from within Christendom. Meanwhile, it is also true that humanity has striven to establish a peaceful world. In consequence, religions appropriate to each region emerged.
Yet, not understanding God’s providence, Christianity lacked the capacity of heart to embrace everyone. This resulted in a human-centered system that suppressed others. As a result of people realizing this was no good, the Reformation therefore took place. During the Reformation a movement of individuals and families arose, seeking to serve God directly.
People did not want to worship God only in Catholic cathedrals, but also at home. This led to the Puritan movement. Thus was born the United States of America, a democratic, Protestant nation to prepare the environment for the Second Coming of Christ, for which Heaven could wait no longer.
Some decades ago, communism was spreading and taking over the world and the United States was at risk. Should the United States collapse, the environment in which the returning Messiah could work would be destroyed and everything would become difficult. In response, what kind of providence did Heaven conduct?
God brought about the birth of many spirit-led prophets. There was also a prophecy to keep a close eye on the East. I am sure that all of you are familiar with the poem by Tagore, a well-known Indian poet. What is that lamp? The lamp! It means the truth! Among the lines in the poem are: “And that lamp is waiting to be lit once again, for the illumination of the East.” Is that right? The truth of God’s providence must be revealed. In 1943, God’s only begotten daughter was born on the Korean Peninsula. (Applause)
God provided Christianity with many opportunities to fulfill its responsibilities in relation to the birth of the only begotten Daughter. God also provided opportunities for the individual who had to take on the responsibility of the returning Messiah. Korea was under Japanese rule at the time, and in 1945, the nation was liberated. In 1950, the Korean War began. The Korean Peninsula was divided North and South, between communism and democracy.
There is no doubt that if the allied forces had known God’s providence at that time, Korea would not have been divided in this manner. Yet, even in such a situation, Heaven had to give the only begotten Daughter time to grow. Sixteen UN member states intervened in the Korean War. All of this was possible due to Heaven’s presence and grace. Otherwise, why would 16 UN member states intervene in a small unknown country with its people fighting each other?
God needed to provide a growth period for the only begotten Daughter who has the responsibility to see the fulfillment of the providence. God wanted me to mature on my own and complete God’s providence. I knew that. In fact, Father and I have an age difference of 23 years.
If True Father could have made the preparations necessary to restore Christianity at that time, and if he had known he would need to meet the first only begotten Daughter, the Christian world would not have been able to call the Unification Church heretical from 1960 until today.
It was Jesus’ hope to meet the first Only Begotten Daughter. After meeting her, they would have assumed the position of the True Parents. His wish was to do that. As a result, True Parents are responsible to create the environment in which we may attend the Creator, Heavenly Parent, on this earth.
However, as you all know, the 53 years of the Unification Church became a wilderness course. I had to wait and endure. I am a person who knows Heavenly Parent’s dreams and wishes. I am now more than 80 years of age, and still, I cannot say that we have succeeded in restoring a nation or continent, can I?
Living in an unprepared environment, blessed families, especially 2nd-generation members born from 1st-generation blessed families—the 2nd-generation born as “Pure Water” from True Parents whom Heaven sent after 6,000 years—did not fully understand the providence; even so, I am thankful that they believed in True Parents and have grown up well. (Applause)
Ten people are better than one. One hundred people are better than ten. The Pure Water, who are increasing in number, must boldly educate and reveal the truth of providence to the world. Thus, I hope that the Korean Church and Korea can stand before the world having fulfilled its responsibilities as the homeland for the Entrance Ceremony for the Cheon Il Sanctum in Cheon Won Gung next year. Heavenly Parent is alive! God is working with the first only begotten Daughter! (Aju.) In Korea and around the world, we face many difficult problems; the only way to solve them is to unite with the True Mother, the Only Begotten Daughter. I bless you to become the chosen people who attend Heavenly Parent with joy and become the flagship nation of Cheon Il Guk. [Aju.] (Applause)
