We organized “The Living for the Sake of Others” event on the 2nd of December 2023 to celebrate outstanding citizens who have made substantial contributions towards establishing peace within their communities. The keynote address was delivered by John Adamedes, President of UPF Australia, who explained how God, spirituality, and family are necessary elements helping humanity to view each other as one family; one that lives for the sake of each other.

The Living for Others awards were awarded to people who have taken great strides towards the aim of peace through their notable contributions to their communities. The 2023 recipients of this award are:

  • Mr Abulla Agwa
  • Mr Gharib Al-Salehi
  • Mr Safet Alispahic
  • Ms Sainju Sarina
  • Mr Syed Asim Raza
  • Dr Thi Tuong Phan

Congratulatory messages were given by Yutaka Yamada, Chairman of UPF Oceania, and by Sandhya Reddy, Deputy Mayor of Strathfield Council, followed by congratulatory performances.

Following these awards was the appointment of the new Ambassadors for Peace, who are an ever-expanding global community of peacemakers dedicated to establishing lasting peace. The appointed individuals are all active members of their communities who embody the principles of peace. The new Ambassadors for Peace are:

  • Ms Ayeshah S M Ahmed
  • Ms Suha Gharib
  • Mr Abulla Agwa
  • Mr Gharib Al-Salehi
  • Mr Safet Alispahic
  • Ms Sarina Sanju
  • Mr Syed Asim Raza
  • Dr Thi Tuong Phan

This appointment ceremony was followed by closing remarks from Santosh Neupane, Vice President of UPF Australia, which concluded this celebration of peacemakers. Through this event, there was the renewal of our ongoing commitment to keep working towards true eternal peace by living for the sake of others.
