In celebration of the 2nd Anniversary of the Pacific Christian Leadership Conference (PCLC), a service project titled “Christian Youth Action for Nation Building” was conducted on October 21–22, 2023, at Our Lady of Piat Shrine in Doῆa Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan, Philippines. This project was co-organized by the Young Christian Leadership Conference, Mahal na Birhen ng Piat Foundation Inc., and FFWPU-Philippines.

Fifty Christian young people and students participated in the program. On the first day, they visited the historical Sta. Monica Parish Roman Catholic Church as part of a pilgrimage, followed by team-building activities to foster togetherness and prepare them for the seminar’s objectives.

In the opening program, Dr. Julius Malicdem delivered an inspiring message to all the participants. Edgar Tanate’s “Lecture 1: Universal Principles” initiated the educational segment of the program, providing an in-depth examination of universal values, which sparked meaningful group discussions and reflections. “Lecture 2: Servant Leadership” by Rev. Fr. Edgardo de Jesus emphasized the principles of leadership, particularly unselfish service, instilling values of humility, compassion, and service to others. Following group discussions and reflections, participants delved deeper into the topics.

The day ended with the Galilee Home Visitation, where participants translated their newfound knowledge into meaningful community service. A bonfire and the Brotherhood and Sisterhood Ceremony celebrated unity and diversity, and a cultural night allowed participants to showcase their unique talents and cultural backgrounds.

The second day began with a morning devotion, encouraging personal reflection and well-being. Participants engaged in physical activities and planted trees to symbolize their commitment to the environment and community. Rev. Ronnie D. Sodusta’s afternoon lecture, “Lecture 3: Becoming Owners of the Culture of the Heart (Hyojeong),” was a culminating moment of intellectual study, emphasizing a culture of love and its lasting effect on the world. The program closed with a solemn Holy Mass and a closing ceremony, leaving participants transformed personally and collectively.

The “Christian Youth Action for Nation Building” seminar was truly transformative. It ignited a spirit of service, inspired wisdom, and empowered young participants to make a lasting impact. As they bid farewell, they carried not only memories but also the fire of inspiration.
