We are proud to align our work with the UN’s Global Goals. These 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), agreed upon in 2015 by world leaders, aim to create a better, fairer, world by 2030 – ending poverty, urgently addressing climate change, and ending inequality.
Goal 15. Life on Land: Reversing man-made deforestation and desertification to sustain all life on earth; protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and biodiversity loss.
UPF Peru and the UPF Ancash Region, as part of the Environmental Tree Plantation Campaign, within the second stage of the Ignacio Merino Urbanization, planted 30 trees in two parks.
Ambassadors for Peace, students from the University of Piura, members of the Lions Club, and officials from the Provincial Municipality of Piura, together carried out this environmental tree planting activity.
Special thanks to Ambassador Felix Zapata Zapata for managing the seedlings and his important support in planting, Ambassador Magali De Jesús Parado Cervera, UPF Piura Region Coordinator, for the efforts carried out, and Ambassador Eng. Jimmy Cerro Sánchez Manager of Environment, Population and Health of the Provincial Municipality of Piura, and all the Ambassadors for Peace of Lima and Piura for their important participation in the planting: to Ambassador Lic. Valentín Valladares Melgar, Econ Ambassador. Blanca Añasco de Alberca, Ambassador Varinia Cielo Gutiérrez, Ambassador Marita Arteaga Cruz, the students at the University of Piura, the members of the Lions Club, the president of Urbanization Ignacio Merino Second Stage, the park gardening staff of the Provincial Municipality of Piura and UPF Secretary General Jaime Fernández Flores.
