Father’s Speech On February 1, 1998 In Seoul Korea
The perfection of the word includes the vast content beginning with the perfection of the individual and extending upward through the perfection of the family, tribe, people, nation, and world to the perfection of the Kingdom of God on earth and the Kingdom of God in heaven. At the same time, it includes secrets which no one on this earth has known until now-the secrets of heaven, the secrets of Satan’s world, and the secrets of humankind. Until now no one has known the fact that through our Unification Church this word has appeared. The world thinks of the Unification Church as the worst place and has treated its members like dogs. However, the original colors of our Unification Church are such that however difficult a place we may be in, we show ourselves. The closer we get to the Last Days, every person’s original colors will be revealed. Evil people will be revealed as evil, and good people will be revealed as good.
That which is called true is something which does not change. It is not dominated by the circumstances of its environment. Even if faced with a difficulty, it does not change. Something which is true does not change whether placed in the hands of a laborer or a prison inmate. In talking about precious jewels, we can say that a diamond is true. This means that a diamond does not change. In terms of its hardness, it loses to nothing else in the world. It can be the model; it can be the standard of hardness to which everything else is compared. It must not change. Gold is another thing which does not change in that it does not lose its brilliance. It is considered precious because its purity of composition never changes. Whether a thousand years ago or a thousand years in the future, it does not change based on the circumstances or environment, whether wealthy or poor. If we talk about a pearl, we refer to its harmonized color. The luster of its harmonized color does not change. Because its elegant luster does not change it is considered a precious jewel.
It is the same if we speak about truth. Then what is the most precious thing in this world? What is the center of the truest truth? In philosophy, if one studies thoroughly the problem of the value of humankind, after searching and searching what one finds in. the end is the Absolute Being.
SEARCHING FOR THE ABSOLUTE BEING
Religion begins from the Absolute Being. Those who searched and found the Absolute Being all went into the spirit world and met God, and the effort to bring the standard of that meeting to the whole world was the beginning of religion. But although religion originated in God, it has fallen. As it was on its way up to the world of secrets, it fell. Why? They do not know. It is the same in philosophy. If we search to understand the value of life, the problems of human nature, why a man is born, why a woman is born, or the origin of the universe, at the end is the Absolute Being. We are seeking a God of personality who can be substituted for everything absolute. Everything that philosophy pursued in relation to the elucidation of the Absolute Being has failed. Religion came to the earth beginning with the content of revelations and is connected to God. However, all of the efforts to find God through human knowledge on the earth have failed.
Let’s say then that the world has come to the point at which it does not need religion or philosophy. In that case, what is the center of the truth for which humankind is searching? What is the I nature of the truth of the origin of the universe? Even if we say we have met God, God has many natures. He has an absolute nature, a unique nature, an unchanging nature, and an eternal nature. If we look at things centered on such a God, what would God like best? What is it that God hopes will never change? Just as human beings absolutely desire that which does not change because we resemble God, that which does not change is precious to God. When God finds a person in such a state of absolute unchangeability, God becomes one with that person He discovered. God cannot do this alone.
What is the center of absolute truth? It is not knowledge. God does not need knowledge. Because He is an omniscient, omnipotent being, He is already the King of knowledge. And today the world is going wild centered on power, but God does not need power. He is all powerful in every way. Although people make a big deal about becoming president, God is unlimitedly capable; there is nothing that God cannot do. Knowledge is not a problem for Him and power is not a problem. And money? He can make all the money He wants.
SEARCHING FOR TRUE LOVE
What is it that God needs? That is the issue. What He needs is the true love which we talk about. We should know that God needs true love. We must know the nature of true love. The point from which humankind originally started is the world of creation centered on true love. God created because He needed an object of true love. Love cannot be realized alone. Because it absolutely arises from a reciprocal relationship, the reason God began to create was to make the creation His object of true love.
God placed His object at the peak of all the gathered centers of everything in the created world. Thus, just as it is said that humanity is the most precious part of creation, human-kind is the center of everything. What does it mean that human beings were created as the center? It was in order to be-come the object of true love. This is the reality. However, because humankind fell, until now we have not known true love. If Adam and Eve had become one centered on true love, if the internal God had become: the external God centered on true love, if the internal Father had become the external father, and if sons and daughters had been born centered on true love-from that world the Kingdom of God would have started. It would have been the beginning of the human ideal-the beginning of the ideal of the family which humankind needs. This ideal would have expanded outward centered on the nucleus of the ideal family of true love.
Then if we talk about the father, was there a true father? There was not. Was there a true mother? No, there was not. Because Adam and Eve fell, they were cast out of the Gar-den of Eden. Casting out Adam and Eve meant that there was nothing which could let them stand as objects; they had lost their value and potential to be objects of love when looked at from above or below, left or right, front or back. From every aspect, they had become valueless. Therefore, they were cast out. In the Bible, doesn’t it say that the people who were created as the objects of God’s love were cast out because they ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil? But that is not the actual reason.
We have to solve the origin of such problems. All the con-tent of all things has been solved. You must have this kind of content. It can be found in the Divine Principle which was revealed by Reverend Moon, but is it not Reverend Moon’s. It is not the Unification Church’s either. It is heaven’s, and at the same time because it unfolds the ideal content which humankind must fulfill, if you look there you will also find the content which allows God to become perfect.
SEARCHING FOR OBJECTS OF LOVE
God also must become perfect. In what sense? God is imperfect in the sense that God could not meet His objects of true love and love them. Because He cast out humankind who were created as His objects of love, God has been in the subject position, centered on the ideal of love and centered on true love, but He could not meet His substantial objects and become one with them. The fact that He could not become one with them means that His will for love has not been realized. This is a problem which none of the established churches nor any individual have ever even imagined.
That which can make God perfect is not God Himself. That which perfects a man is not man himself. That which perfects a woman is not woman herself either. You all have love, don’t you? Both men and women have love. Next, you have life, don’t you? And next you all have sperm and egg, which connect lineage. You definitely have them through the blood lineage. And everyone has a conscience. However, we cannot see love, life, lineage or conscience. Have you seen love? Have you seen life? Have you seen lineage? Have you seen conscience? No one has seen them. We cannot see them, but do we need them? We all have them, but what do we need?
There is one unit of air pressure pushing on each square centimeter. It is a great power. Without it we would all be flying around. However, because there is a balance we do not notice it. It is the same for human beings. We have love, life, and lineage, but why can’t we touch them? We do not notice them because they are in balance, centered on the mind and the body. But even though we cannot see them, we know we have them through feeling them.
However, a person who has this love cannot become perfect alone. If one wants to perfect everything about a man, there must be a woman to relate to. This is absolute. A woman has love, life and lineage; she has everything, but she cannot perfect herself. She must meet a man. Why is a man needed? Why is a woman needed? This is absolute-it is in order to become owners of love. One cannot become an owner of love alone. Further-more, it is to become owners of life; it is to become owners of lineage; it is to become owners of conscience.
Then what must everyone do in order to become perfect? We must marry. Is marriage necessary? Because we have not known the ideal of marriage, until now the state of marriage is one which is in an uproar. If we want to find absolute love, we need absolute marriage. Isn’t that true? Is there anyone who thinks of marriage in that way today? It is entirely a scene of confusion and disorder. There are people who act as though it is a matter of life and death that they marry, and then marry, but within a week seek a divorce. There are people who leave on their honeymoon but separate even before they reach their destination. What kind of marriage it that? When God made man and woman, did He make them in order to have that kind of marriage?
Love is eternal; love is unchanging and one; love is ab-solute. Then what the absolute God also absolutely needs is love. The one thing that the one God needs is what we call true love. Then the unchanging God must need all kinds of love. When the eternal God meets love, absolute, unique, unchanging, and eternal value is established. We must understand such fundamental issues.
If we look at human beings, we all have five senses. The body of one human being is composed of around 40 billion cells. The problem is to unite all those cells in one direction. If they go in different directions, the human being falls into chaos. They should qualify to be able to unite and go in one direction towards a purpose, but that cannot be accomplished through money. Can 40 billion cells be moved by money? Do they move according to knowledge? Regarding lineage there is a problem, also. Does a lineage occur through knowledge? There are many strange people who, for example, serve as president for a number of years and who use money, knowledge, and power to steal. Such wicked people will naturally disappear now. A time of natural selection is coming. Only the eternally true will not be weeded out.
That eternal truth is absolute love. Even the absolute God must be absolutely obedient to true love. The established churches do not know this. When man and woman are out seeking love, if a man feels that a certain woman is the one whom absolutely he is to love, he is able to risk his life for her. He will feel, “For my beloved I am willing to offer my life, and even if I have to sacrifice my entire past, present and future I want to become one with that love.” Why is this so? If even fallen love, it is like that, then how strong must be the perfected love which God originally desired! Giving our life is not a problem. God made the strength of true love such that one can deny one’s own life for it.
If God could love as He originally desired, maybe the world would become a dictatorship of sorts. Would it not be-come one world, the world of peace in which reciprocal partners would have give and take and live for one another? When we consider this kind of problem, what is it that God likes most? Money, knowledge, power-these kinds of things are desired by the people of the fallen world.
FINDING A BASIS FOR BELIEF
Did dogs fall? The world of dogs is living according to the truth of the world of dogs. What is it that humankind is most unable to do because of the fall? Through the fall human beings became worse than dogs. Dogs end up as dogs. You may think that has no relationship to you. But you must know what you must know. You must know how to call something what it is.
As a result of the way I have lived my life, I have gone beyond all those who are seeking money, power and knowledge, going to Harvard-all the people of the world who think they are so great. Yes, Reverend Moon is not so bad. Am I handsome? [Yes.] If you look at my face, I am old. What do you mean by saying I am handsome? But in any case, am I necessary to the Unification Church? [Yes.] How do you know that is true? If you taste something, you can know if it is true or not.
From this viewpoint, some of the things that established Christianity has insisted on believing-such as that the Lord of the Second Coming will come down on a cloud-cannot be believed. The only thing that can be believed is what we call true love. Is true love in heaven or on earth? Where can you go to find it? Think of it in this way: The opposite of the North Pole is the South Pole. If heaven is an extremely high place, then what is the far extreme reciprocal object of such an extremely high place? It is an extremely low place.
A precious jewel has the same value whether in an extremely high or extremely low place. This is necessarily so. People value precious jewels both at night and in the day. They liked them in the past and still like them in the present. God likes them, and Satan likes them. Even Satan likes gold. We do not just like diamonds, we desire their unchanging quality of hardness. Those who want something which changes, raise your hands. If you do, you must be crazy.
The love that the unchanging God is looking for is unchanging; the love that the absolute God is looking for is absolute; the love that the unique God is looking for is unique-there is only one. What the unchanging God is looking for is unchanging love. The eternal God is looking for eternal love. Have you looked for such unchanging love? If not, you will fail and end up in hell.
CONNECTING RECIPROCAL PAIRS
Such problems are serious ones. Having dealt closely with such matters, Buddha said, “I am my own lord throughout heaven and earth.” He entered the world of resonance. The universe is resonating. If a subject and object have give and take, they make a sound. How loud would the sound of the give and take of true love be?
Have you heard of the marriage of nature? Nature is get-ting married. It is like the birds calling to one another. Have you heard birds calling? Have you heard the sound of thunder and seen the light of lightning? What is it that they are doing? It is the marriage ceremony of nature. Does that light go up from the earth or does it come down from above? The light comes down from above. Sound begins in one place and radiates out in all four directions. It is a relative relationship. So the light which comes down goes out to the whole world.
You must understand that there is a horizontal world and a vertical world. Plus and minus coming together is the upper coming into the level of the lower. The two worlds must form a relationship and unite, then harmony can occur. Harmony cannot occur if there is just one alone.
Why do we have two eyes? Wouldn’t it be nice if we had only one? Wouldn’t it be nice if it were on the bridge of our nose? Our two eyes reflect the harmony of heaven and earth. The universe is made up of a system of pairs. Even the miner-al world is formed by the love relationship between subject and object through the positive ions and negative ions becoming one. The plant world has stamen and pistil in the reciprocal relationship between subject and object. The animal world has male and female, and man and woman in the human world are in the same kind of reciprocal relationship. When people breathe, is inhaling the subject in the relationship or is exhaling? That is plus and minus as well. Do you absorb the life elements when you inhale or when you exhale? When you inhale you absorb oxygen, and when you exhale you expel carbon dioxide.
It is like this for everything through the yin/yang principle. You know how to make a see-saw. [Translator’s note: The traditional Korean concept of a see-saw is a board resting over a heavy object. One person stands on each end, and they jump up and down trying to send each other high into the air.] Your partner must jump up and down well in order for it to work properly. If your partner is not doing it right, the see-saw can tip over. Everything needs balance. So human beings are made in balance also. Where there is balance waves do not form, because everything is level. We can know this levelness if we encounter it.
Listen to your heartbeat. If you listen to your heart beat through a stethoscope it sounds like a bomb exploding. But how many times a day do you hear it? You cannot hear it. When you are busy, sometimes you may not notice it for several months, but if one tiny fly rests on your body you are aware of it immediately. Why is that so? We perceive immediately something which does not make even one one-hundredth of the sound of our heartbeat. When the object partner is in balance we cannot feel it, but we can feel even tiny things which are out of balance. Thus we absolutely need reciprocal partners.
LIBERATING GOD
As we are inquiring into the need for a reciprocal object through this kind of logic, we can understand that God too is lonely if He is alone. If God also passes through a lonely place, He is to be pitied. If one becomes pitiful, one wants to die, not live. Then through what are we going to liberate God, who says He does not want to live? A reciprocal partner of love is needed. Anyone who does not need a reciprocal partner raise your hand. This is a problem directly affecting everyone. I am speaking in this way in order to stress that what I am saying is serious.
Thus, Reverend Moon has love, doesn’t he? He has life, doesn’t he? He has lineage, doesn’t he? He has a conscience, but only he knows it. When you meet the person. you love and you want to show your love, you begin by winking, don’t you? Do you know about that? Try it some time. Your eyes meet, don’t they? If your eyes directly meet, then next your lips meet. Then what meets next? I don’t know about that! [Laughter.]
If the meeting does not harmonize, there is no ideal. In order to become one, we must match ourselves to one other. We must match from top to bottom. Then what must we do? What has taken place so far is different from God’s original will of creation. People do match up, but how uncomfortable it is! People of the world are loving in a way that is different from God’s original created will.
Did Adam and Eve marry before or after they were cast out of the Garden of Eden? They married after they were cast out. Then did God seek out Adam and Eve and say to them, “Hey, hey, hey! You are so pitiful, so do this,” and then perform their marriage ceremony for them? Did Adam and Eve marry according to their own wishes, or did Satan hold a marriage ceremony for them? Can just two people have a wedding ceremony? There have to be at least three people. There has to be an officiator. We cannot deny that i:t follows logically that Satan was surely the officiator at their wedding. Saying that Satan was the officiator means that they were one with Satan.
Originally, the moment when God officiated at Adam and Eve’s wedding was to have been externally the wedding ceremony of Adam and Eve, the wedding ceremony of the True Parents. Internally, it was to have been the wedding ceremony of God, because the love of the absolute God was to have been there. Why is the love of the absolute God needed? It is needed for the reciprocal object partner of absolute love.
What could become God’s reciprocal object partner of ab-solute love? A monkey? These days there are many evolutionists, but what they insist upon is not correct. Can a monkey be the ancestor of humankind? There are 47 points of difference between monkeys and human beings. Because there are that many differences, they cannot become one. When a man and woman make love, can they always conceive a child? If there are only even one or two differences between them, they cannot conceive a child. Then how could a human being appear from a monkey when there are 47 points of difference? This is wrong. Through this teaching I am breaking down communism.
SETTING THINGS RIGHT
Anyone who does not need true love, raise your hand. There is no one. Anyone who does need it? Yes. Do you know God? How well do you know Him? Is God’s hand bigger than Reverend Moon or smaller? Is God’s eye bigger than Reverend Moon or smaller? You do not know. A woman who does not know her husband but is still seeking true love, is what she is doing crazy or not? Anyone who does that is crazy. Because everyone is crazy in this way, no one can find their place and they have created such a mixed up world. The person who is putting such things in their right places is Reverend Moon. Do you understand?
So Reverend Moon is a man who works magic, and there are all sorts of rumors that he must be a shaman or a witch, and so on. There are so many strange rumors about me. Because I came to know heaven’s secrets, the secrets of Satan’s world, and the secrets of history, I became the king of insults. Why? Because Satan’s world dislikes most what heaven loves, the Unification Church has been hated the most. We have been disliked by individuals, tribes, peoples, nations and the world, and even the spirit world on Satan’s side opposed us. Now that is all finished. If Satan’s world tries to oppose us now they cannot do it, can they?
If Reverend Moon had not carried out the international holy wedding ceremonies, would he have been slandered? People ask, “What is this international holy wedding ceremony?” They say, “It is wrong. Reverend Moon stole my wife. He took my sons and daughters and married them as he pleased. He is a thief.” At the time of the 36 Couples Blessing I sent out invitations. To the parents I wrote,
“Your son or daughter will be marrying on such and such a day. If you wish to see it, please come.” I gave them many conditions to fulfill, explaining, “If you do not do this, you cannot be admitted.” How on earth could some-thing like that happen?
Then does Reverend Moon not know the world? It is because I know the world better than anyone else that I am proceeding in this way. How much have I been slandered? As a well-known representative of the religious world, Reverend Moon is the one who has been slandered and persecuted the most. On one American television quiz program I saw them ask a contestant who the religious leader is who has been slandered the most in the world, and the person answered, “Reverend Moon.”
Yes, I have been slandered, but have I been destroyed? What has become of me? There is no principle in this world which can explain this. Usually one is ruined after being slandered. There is no aspect of Reverend Moon which the media has not attacked over the past forty years. Such a person as former President Nixon was ruined after one year and eight months. People in politics, even people who have been presidents, can be ruined within a month if the media attacks them. But Reverend Moon has been attacked and pursued by newspapers throughout his entire life; he has been imprisoned and suffered so many kinds of humiliation, but has he been ruined or has he prospered? [He has prospered.] Every-thing was done to try to kill him, but he didn’t die; he lived. People thought he would be ruined, but he has prospered. That is in unity with God’s creation. The secret creation of God is miraculous. Because God felt it would not do if I were not here, He saved me. Don’t you think so?
I am not that handsome a man, but I do not think I am so ugly either. [Laughter.] Why? Others say that. People who, can read faces say about me, “That man is to be a king of kings.” [Amen.] I am just telling you what I heard. Don’t say that Reverend Moon said that about himself. [Laughter.] If Christians hear that, they will forget that a face reader said that, and they might say, “Oh, no! On such-and-such a date, Reverend Moon said he Was the king of kings. He said he was better than Jesus.”
If a Korean_ person who is better than Jesus were to appear, would that be bad for Korea? Then even if Korea were destroyed it could survive! Even if the nation fell down there would be a way for it to come up again. Do you understand?
UNDERSTANDING GOD’S HEART
The problem is that centered on absolute love even God could not reach perfection. When we come to understand this, we can understand what kind of son Adam was to God. You have heard of seven generations of only one son, haven’t you? Adam and Eve were like the fruit of billions of generations with only one son. It was serious. Would God have made them so that they would eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and die? We must understand the heart of God who lost His only son and only daughter who were the descendants of billions of generations. We resemble God, don’t we? Imagine losing your only son.
When I sent Heung Jin to the spirit world, even my heart suffered. Mother and everyone wept and pledged to heaven. It was hard to endure. But when God lost His eternal only son and only daughter, His only son of tens of thousands of generations, He had to turn over the lineage and love, history and tradition. The nation and the world were broken. Would God, who directly suffered this, laugh or hold it in His heart?
To that kind of God fallen people have been praying, “Save me.” For forty years Christians have been praying, “Destroy Reverend Moon.” Well, has Reverend Moon been destroyed? It is they who have been destroyed. The Vatican has been destroyed. All the Protestant sects of America have been destroyed. They know that without my help, they do not have a way to survive. Ask them.
MELTING THE DARKNESS
If it is night, then the day is coming. The satanic world is night, and Reverend Moon is the day; he gives off a light like that of the sun. The satanic sphere must be struck and destroyed, and then everyone from the night is to be mobilized. AU individuals, families, tribes, clans, nations, ideologies, thought systems, religions and so forth are in the darkness of night. Among all those in the night, there is no one who has not opposed Reverend Moon. There is no sun at night, but in the day the sun appears. Because Reverend Moon is wearing the sun, the cold wind blowing from the north gradually moves, passing in the course of a year through spring, summer, autumn and winter; eventually winter passes. Because of the fall, humankind could not start from the spring and western civilization is going backwards. It is going through the realm of the Arctic civilization. Through the spring civilization, the summer and autumn civilizations and the winter civilization of communism are being corrected. Communism arose out of this realm of the Arctic civilization and then swept it away. It attacked religion, swept away democracy, and broke down all the traditions of human life. But when the spring comes, does the ice melt or not?
The spring light is Reverend Moon. Even communism melted in my hand. Democracy is also destined to fade away. The family, the world, everything is to be melted. Everything is in my hands. However, Reverend Moon is not the center. This hand which you see is my hand, but there is another hand which cannot be seen.
CONNECTING WITH GOD
You have a mind, don’t you? Human beings have a spiritual self and a physical self. What is your mind? Zen Buddhists meditate to discover what the mind is. They try to enter into a state of nonexistence. But the mind is the internal self which has received the lineage of God. We did not know this. It is simple. Because my mind is the internal I which is connected to the lineage of God, if we grab onto that lineage and pull, God will come running. If we call the Korean race, the people who wear white all come running, don’t they? The root of the tradition comes out running. [Translator’s note: Traditional Korean clothes were white and the Korean people called themselves the people who wear white.]
This mind is the self which is vertically completely one with and connected with the true God in a perpendicular relationship. The body is the horizontal self. The mind is the vertical self. Therefore, the person who can do as his mind wishes is an ideal human being. Today, are human beings being pulled around by their bodies, or are their minds pulling their bodies around? [The bodies are pulling the minds.] So the center is wrong. As one is being pulled, if the perpendicular line becomes level and one complete circle is made just right, this is good. But because people tum as they wish it is not level. Originally the level should be matched. Only if a 90-degree angle is established between the vertical and the horizontal can this become a perfect sphere. No matter where a perfect sphere rolls, it does not get damaged. Do you want a bumpy, imperfect sphere, or a perfectly round one? [A perfectly round one.] Why? Wherever a perfectly round sphere rests it meets the plane on the perpendicular. The place where it rests creates a definite 90-degree angle. The 90-degree angle is with the center of the sphere. It is absolutely perfect internally and externally. If you measure it from the inside it matches a 90-degree angle. If you measure it from the outside it matches a 90-degree angle. It is made like that, isn’t it? Being fallen means not being like this.
What Reverend Moon has taken the most pains about is where the absolute love of God and the absolute love of humankind can become one. This takes the greatest amount of hard work. God cannot teach everything. The answer is that true love communicates through a direct route. The 90-degree angle is the direct route. Neither 89 nor 91 degrees is a direct route. The direct route is definitely perpendicular.
If God’s absolute love communicates through the direct route, then humankind’s absolute love must communicate through the direct route. It is logically correct to say that they must meet at a perpendicular point. Then where must they unite? Logic dictates that they must meet at the center. Every-thing is the same. The angle is the same. Spreading out from the center there is no difference in the whole form from top to bottom or right to left; the top side, the right side all are mixed together. If there are twelve or however many, they must all be right. The problem is to locate the settling point for the ideal of love.
Have your mind and body become one or are they two? [They have not become one.] You must protest, “Why did the perfect God make us this way?” In order to solve this Reverend Moon has suffered more than anyone. Who will recognize me for suffering to solve this kind of basic problem? The world does not recognize me, but God does.
God, who is the subject partner of absolute love, needs an absolute reciprocal partner whom He can relate to with ab-solute love. God is vertical and humankind is horizontal. Therefore, at the point where vertical and horizontal become one, the mind and body centered on God must become one. If that is not love, they cannot become one. We cannot become one with God through strength. We cannot become one with God through knowledge. In order to destroy everything about humankind, Satan, from a far distance away rams down money, knowledge and power, which are all wicked things. Thus religion denies all these things.
LEARNING THE FOCUS OF LOVE
Therefore, if you do not want to fall, you must leave your home. This is what religious doctrines teach. Next, you must live a celibate life. What is a celibate life? Is a man to use the organ of a woman or not? What is that organ? [The sexual organ.] What? Oh! When the minister is leading Hoon Dok Hae on a Sunday morning from the pulpit, how can he talk about sexual organs? The Korean word for sexual organ comes from the Chinese character for birth, saeng, which means a dish for eating life. It can also be a dish for feeding and giving life to one’s spouse. That meaning is also possible.
What is it that God needs most from His object partners, humankind? Does God have a sexual organ as well? Who do children resemble? Their mother and father’s mother and father. The ultimate ancestors’ mother and father also resembled their mother and father. Humankind was born through God, and God is called our Parent, so we also resemble God. This kind of logic can be established. Then does God have a sexual organ or not? [Yes.] What kind of sexual organ? Try to answer. Because I talk about things like this, I have been criticized. If this area goes wrong for grandmother and grandfather and if the situation ends in failure for mom and dad also, is that important or not? Satan’s world says it is not.
Do you give a jewel randomly to just anyone? You give it to the person you believe most and are closest to. For a bridegroom, his bride is the only person he feels that way about. Bridegrooms, who are the animal called man, and brides who are the animal called woman are the owners, the lords. Reality is such that they cannot give this jewel to anyone else. If you want to divide it perpendicularly, the left and right must become one and be completely level. And if you want to become one with God, you must match your level of conscience to God’s level of conscience. If that happens, the bride about to marry says to the person to be her bridegroom, “Do you love me with a sincere heart?” Isn’t that what she asks? “Do you really love me?” Asking this is centered on the conscience.
The battle between humankind’s mind and body came about as a result of the fall. This battle has existed since the time of Adam and Eve, but if a person hears our Divine Principle this can all be resolved.
EXPANDING THE SPHERES OF LOVE
We must understand that God, Himself was not yet perfect. Because God is the Father of fathers, this Father is hoping for filial sons and daughters. Isn’t that so? This Father is the King of kings who is hoping for loyal subjects. He wants sons and daughters who will live for the nation. In order to become a loyal patriot, it takes hundreds of times more effort than to be a filial son to one’s father and mother at home. The father is the king of kings of the nation. That kind of king hopes for loyal patriots. Loyal patriots means people who live for the nation. Parents want sons and daughters who live for the nation. That’s true, isn’t it? In order to become a loyal patriot, one’s efforts must be hundreds of times higher than one’s efforts to be a filial child to one’s mother and father at home.
People today do not know that they are hundreds of times more precious if they represent tens of thousands of families. Therefore, expanding from the stepping stone of the filial child, one must hold the position of thousands of filial children in order to be called a loyal patriot. If you want to become a loyal patriot, you must represent your nation and love the king. It refers to this relationship.
Next, is God the King of only the nation? Since He is the King of the world, there is the duty of the saint. A saint is someone who does not love his nation only. He must love the world. Soon Shin Lee was a patriot of Korea, but an enemy of Japan. He was not a loyal patriot on the world level. He could not reach the level of a world patriot. In order to become a world patriot, one must not have any enemies. One must go beyond one’s nation. In order to have a larger center, since a power of that relative importance is hanging from one end, and because there is a larger foundation at the center, if one does not maintain a greater power which enables one to love one’s nation, the balance is not right. Even if one has to sacrifice everything beginning with one’s family up to and including one’s nation, this kind of person who lives for the world is a saint.
What is a saint? It is a stepping stone along the way to becoming the divine son or daughter. Then it is not the world, of balance; it must match the perpendicular world. It must keep the palace rule of the two worlds, the nation rule of the two worlds, and the laws of the two sovereignties of the Kingdom of God on earth and in heaven. Then, centered on the Kingdom of God on earth and the Kingdom of God in heaven, the way of the divine sons and daughters is to stand in the position representing the saints, the loyal patriots, and the filial children.
Which path do you want to take? [The path of the divine son.] The divine son? In order to become a divine son, must you go over the peak of the saint or not? [Yes.] And the path of the loyal patriot? [Yes.] And the path of the family? [Yes.] Since you think you must go over them, the person who wants to keep his life cannot become a divine son. From this viewpoint, Jesus said that the person who would give up his life would live. This means there is hope. It means we will live. But saying one lives does not necessarily mean he will succeed. He who seeks to die will live, and he who seeks to live will die.
The one who is the king of filial sons, the king of loyal patriots and the king of saints is the divine son. Have you ever had that kind of heart? Even God would want to come and greet such a person in order to receive his love. Because I say such things I have been criticized by the world.
LEARNING HUMILITY IN LOVE
Look at it this way. Love comes to us through our object, not through ourselves. Because love comes through the object partner and can have dominion over billions of generations, it cannot be exchanged for billions of dollars. In order to find this one and only love which cannot be bought for any price, I have to bow my head before my object partner. If you hold your ground like this, love flows away. But if you lie down like this and faint, then your object partner will take you in his arms. Stand together and be so grateful for everything that you bow your head and faint. Then would your object partner take you in his arms or not? [Yes.] This is not pride, it is humility. You must bow down your heads.
Have you become that kind of couple? Married women, have you been that kind of wife? Husbands, have you been that kind of husband? In order to receive love to that extent, God is looking for the level of people to whom He can bow His head through such a love. But when imperfect people like those who love today, who do not have a clue about God say they are going to love, they are like thieves-like robbers among robbers. Such a fallen standard of love as this should be done away with.
If I speak like this, wouldn’t love itself come and say, “Reverend Moon, I feel good. Wow! Thank you, Reverend Moon.”? Why is this so? Because love communicates east and west and in all directions. If someone from way back there says, “Oh, I want to follow that person, too,” he receives love. It follows logically that a person who lives for others can receive love anywhere.
We must realize that the fruit of true love which we must have is our family. These days people say, “We must go to the Unification Church!” In the West also people say, “If you go to the Unification Church, there are plenty of people to marry. There are plenty of men and plenty of women. If you marry someone there, the Unification Church members do not worry about nationality; they are willing to marry beyond national boundaries, whether they are yellow, black or white.” Thus international marriage is possible.
For this last marriage ceremony there were more than 70 million couples. In terms of the Principle, this number applies to everything: the 7,000 people who refused to bow down to idols in the Old Testament Age and the 7,000 centered on Christianity who, if John the Baptist had led them, would not have sold out Jesus. Because of precedents such as these, I brought 7,000 ministers to Korea to teach them. Do you understand? Therefore, around 7,000 couples are needed. For this reason, although I wanted to bless 3.6 million couples, 70 million couples were blessed. How many times more is this? It is almost 20 times the goal, isn’t it? Did Reverend Moon accomplish this? Who did? At any rate, it was done in Reverend Moon’s name; that much is fact. Do you understand?
MASTERING THE ABSOLUTES
Reverend Moon may seem like an enigmatic person in this age. But I am not an enigma. I sense the human aspect of the feelings of the five senses even more keenly than you do; I feel them completely. I am not a fake. Therefore, God cannot help but like me! [Laughter.]
Does God seem to love Reverend Moon? [Yes.] Whom do I resemble? [God.] How do I resemble God? [In true love.] What does it mean to resemble true love? It means being absolutely obedient to love-absolutely. It means being absolutely obedient for a thousand years, for ten thousand years, even if the world changes and becomes an evil environment. It means even if God runs away I will wait here. Even if God changes, I will not change. Then even if I would say that God gave in to me, God would not dislike it. Ask Him. Ask someone who can communicate with God. Pray and ask, “Reverend Moon says that in regard to love, You lost to him. Isn’t that heresy?” There will be an answer. I don’t know, but that might be the case. [Laughter.] I am a problem person because I speak like this.
Wherever I go, including this visit to Korea, I have been holding Hoon Dok Hae meetings. What is this all about? Whether through Hoon Dok Hae or any other kind of effort, it is about every person finding individual perfection and God’s love. It is about finding a family of love which God can recognize as a perfected family. It is about finding a tribe of love, a people of love, a nation of love and a world of love, all on God’s side. It is about finding the Kingdom of God in heaven and on earth. It is about connecting them stage by stage in such a way that one can pass through them as if on a highway.
If you cling to Reverend Moon, are you destroyed or not? [No.] You women! How many times have I been slandered because of you? When you come to the Unification Church you pay less attention to your husbands and to your grandfathers. Then there are the eldest sons, second sons and uncles, the whole band of men who seem less than ideal. Why? They are all archangels. Women are Eve who is being restored. Once you have met Reverend Moon, your husband, your son and even your grandfather seem less appealing. If you are not like that, you cannot join the Unification Church.
Since women were taken away by the archangel, they have to deny all men-the world of men who are in the position of the archangel. As the Lord of the Second Advent, Reverend Moon has found what Adam was pursuing. In the original world, due to Eve’s fall, children’s love was completely destroyed, brother/ sister love was destroyed, couple’s love was destroyed, and parents’ love was destroyed. The four great loves were destroyed. According to restoration through indemnity, that which was lost in a moment was destroyed by one man. Therefore, through one man you must be able to deny everything and come forward. The principle of indemnity is like that.
FACING CONFLICTING LOYALTIES
When women come into the Unification Church, the grand-fathers say, “That Mr. Moon enticed my grandmotherly wife!” and the fathers say, “He is captivating my wife!” All the men ask what is happening to their wives. I am also changing older sisters and younger sisters. I am restoring all women.
For the first time, a spring breeze is blowing in the world of humankind. Do you understand this? What does the Lord who is coming bring? He comes bringing love-true love. If the spring breeze of true love blows, your four limbs and your entire body all focus on one place. You cannot sleep, you cannot eat, and you cannot work. This kind of age has appeared. The winter season has passed, and the time has come to greet the spring season. For this reason, all women are sitting down and watching to see what I am doing. They are watching everything in the same way that unfallen people would have watched everything in heaven. They are living and watching what I do and where I go. In such case would unpredictable things happen or not?
I have gone through so many different experiences with women. They have given me so much trouble. [Laughter.] From the point of disliking them the most in order to make them good, I have converted them and remade them. I am living with one woman, my wife, and I am giving everything I have to her. Is this worth following or not? [Yes.] True love is living for others. For others. The person who is living more for others becomes the central being. You must know this. In front of heaven and earth, those who live for the sake of true love and are willing to even give their life for others are the beginning point of true love. Because I have known all this, I have been slandered and opposed; I have been through so many things, but in the end no one in the world can stand in front of me.
Is there any other person who can bring together the people of the world from 185 nations and marry 3.6 million couples transcending all races? There is no one on earth or in heaven. God Himself could not do it up until now. Even God could not subjugate Satan. If He could have subjugated him completely, He would already have made a good world. In order to be able to resolve all these things, the theory must be right. When one speaks, one cannot just open one’s mouth and then behave frivolously; nor can one accomplish it by rolling one’s eyes. One must have the content which makes people say, “That’s right!” So are you a group saying, “That’s right!” or a group saying, “That’s not right”? [We are saying, “That’s right!”] Is it right? [Yes.] Forever? [Yes.]
I am being very serious right now, so why are you laughing? When we think of true love, even if we are somewhat unsatisfied, since we must be a reciprocal object partner, we must know how to do so in relationship to one another. We must know how to match ourselves to our environment. Do you understand?
You see me standing at the podium speaking this kind of message, but I am a man of many different abilities. If I go to a place where people are playing sports, I can do sports; if I go someplace where people are fighting, I help stop the fight and fight as well. At a wrestling stadium I teach wrestling, and on the fishing grounds, I teach fishing and I fish. What is there that I cannot do? I have also been a leader in the restoration of men and women. God made me this way.
HOLDING ONTO TRUE LOVE
When we carry out Hoon Dok Hae, we are placing the very marrow of love in our hands. We should seek to become the prince or princess from whom that love cannot escape, to whom that love attaches itself for thousands of years and tens of thousands of years in the Garden of Eden. It was God who sought to make Adam and Eve into His eternal only children by having them eternally fulfill the duties of filial children, of patriots, saints, and divine children. In such a position, must one hold onto true love and then let go of it, or hold onto it and not let go? [Not let go.] Then what if my foundation is strong? If I am putting my life on the line, what about Satan? Because we received the realm of Satan’s lineage, when we deny Satan’s blood lineage God comes in immediately.
People who are in the realm of the fallen lineage whose mind and body are fighting absolutely cannot go to heaven, even if they are ministers or speakers at revival meetings. If your mind and body have not become one and you have not felt true love, repent. The Kingdom of God is at hand. If you have not burst out weeping such that your tears flow and your nose runs and even your saliva flows, then you cannot go into the Kingdom of Heaven. Do you understand? [Yes.]
Let us become people like the sunshine. Let us become people like the air. Let us become people like the water. And further, let us love forever with absolute love which is better than the sun, better than the air, and better than the water. We want, want, want true love! Do you understand? Try that one time. [We want, want, want true love!] On the individual level, family level, national level and then the world level. Once more. Want! [Want!] And heaven and earth, too, want! [Want!] Unity with God. How many levels is that? Individual, family, tribe, people, nation, world, cosmos, and up to God-this is eight levels.
EXPLAINING THE TERM “HOON DOK HAE”
The number 8 is the number of a new beginning. It has two circles. If one part of a gear turns this way, the other part goes in the opposite direction. This is the relationship between the entire heavenly world and the earthly world. The first human ancestors fell on earth while living for them-selves. Therefore, in order to straighten that out, we must go in a direction which is 180 degrees opposite. You must realize that without doing this you cannot meet true love. Do you understand? [Yes!]
The words I have spoken in my many sermons to you were not just spoken by me. It was not I who was speaking; heaven spoke through me. Wherever and whenever you hear those words your heart begins to be mobilized. That is the difference. I am not alone. Because I sought to speak from a position of matching the vertical and the horizontal, and because my mind and body are resonating, a vibration occurs. If my body vibrates, because my mind can be one with it, it vibrates also. If my mind is moved, a kind of revolution occurs in my body. I have that kind of power. So these words are not just my words.
I have already explained the character “hoon.” The character “dok” is made up of the root character “word” and the character “to sell.” You must pass the word on. If you just hold onto it, something terrible will happen. If you do not sell it, you must give it away. If you just store things and they rot, you are punished. If you sell these words to people, those who receive them become your children. There is no other business like this, in which you seek to feed and support all of your customers. If you cannot receive money for it, then just share it with everyone.
For thousands and tens of thousands of years become that kind of seed and it will multiply naturally. Words just flow out and expand, thus they are like the Will.
So we are selling the word, and selling it means receiving money for it. However, there is a more precious way than selling it, which is just giving it without receiving payment for it. That is the original meaning of Hoon Dok Hae.
Do you understand the meaning of Hoon Dok Hae? Even if I speak about Hoon Dok Hae all day I can say things that will move people the whole time. Therefore, no matter how unattractive a person might be, I think that if someone imitates me, that person can speak as if he were my shadow.
