Father’s Prayer at Pledge Service
Beloved Father, residing in the world of heaven, We, the True Parents, here in the earthly world, give thanks to You that we can celebrate this 15th occasion of Kae Cheon Il1, 14 years since its inception, at this special time when we have a new name to represent the Kingdom of Heaven, now, in the second year since the declaration of Cheon Il Guk.
Centering on You, the four great saints and five great religious leaders in the spirit world have become one in heart and body. Tightly bound together, together with the 120 disciples, all the rallies and expressions of resolution have been carried out centered on You…. Transcending the individual, the clan, the ethnic group, the nation, and all of cosmic history, combining the spiritual world, of course, and extending even to the physical world, to carry out, centering on one purpose and one mainstream ideological thought, in order to achieve the unification of the heavenly world and the earthly world, we will carry out all these rallies and affirmations of our resolution.
Now, centering on this Kae Cheon Il, and as we celebrate its 14th anniversary, and by carrying out identical resolution rallies on the individual, family, clan, ethnic, national, world and cosmic levels, the realm of the unified mainstream flow in the heavenly world, expressing all the victory of God, is to be bequeathed centering on the True Parents in the earthly world. In order that this may happen, we will carry out resolution rallies at an equal level. Therefore, deeply honored Father, in the presence of Your joy, I thank You that we can celebrate this Kae Cheon Il with this anniversary gathering, on the third day of the tenth month of this year, the tenth month, which is the month of liberation, centering on this second year of Cheon Il Guk, the tenth month, which is a historical month in which the Unification Church fought and cut off the persecution of Heaven.
From the standard of having one heart, one body and one mindset with God, who has parental authority in the spirit world, and True Parents, who have parental authority on earth, and in order to transcend the historical bitter anguish resulting from the loss of all that would allow for the proclamation of the ideal Kingdom of Heaven that unified both the spiritual and the material worlds, centering on the completion of the ideal of creation in the garden of Eden with the family at its core, the True Parents, in the new age, have indemnified, resolved and paid the price for all the sacrifices made by those in the religious sphere and by Heaven, which has suffered so much. By resolving all this, and obtaining the right of inheritance, the True Parents have brought into unity the framework for the liberation of the spirit world and the framework for the liberation of the earthly world.
We now greet this day, the fifteenth occurrence of Kae Cheon Il–and it is a new day, one where all the billions of ancestors in the spirit world, on the levels of family, clan, people, nation, world and cosmos, can become one in mind and deed with the six billion people living on earth to attend God in Heaven and in unity with the True Parents carry out rallies to express and solidify their resolve.
All of Your children gathered here today are here as representatives of the world. Therefore, please remember all these things, and let all things under Your influence become one in heart, one in body and one in mindset. From this place, this starting point, please weave them all together into the cosmic history, and let the law of the heavenly nation rule in both the spiritual world and the earthly world centering on Cheon Il Guk, so that finally this day can come when we can declare a new beginning in creating a new history. I thank You that such a day has come to pass.
Now, at this place, centered on God, please take Your position on Your throne. Centering on the four great saints in the spirit world, centering on the five great religious leaders and all the other religious leaders in the spirit world, may all these disciples make a new determination and resolution here on earth. Then, following the True Parents, and starting from the individual, which is the original domain of the ideal, may they bring completion to the family, clan, people, nation and cosmos, so that the Parent of Heaven and the Parents of Earth may find settlement here, on the earthly plane. Now, dear Father, please bless all nations, centering on the United Nations member nations with South Korea, Japan and the United States at the core. Please bless them so that they may form a global ideal, an extended family that You can claim and hold sovereignty over, so that from that place where Your will is completed, the spirit world and the material world can advance, in one accord, towards a liberated Kingdom of Heaven where they may set out towards the future in unity.
I have looked forward to celebrating this as a historic turning point. As all blessed families in the spirit world and on earth become one, and the Parent of Heaven and the Parents of Earth become one–the fulfillment of our aspirations–we enter the age in which this subjective authority can purge the root of all evils from the earth and bring even Satan to surrender. Inheriting the celebration, declared fourteen years ago, of Kae Cheon Il, which symbolizes Cheon Il Guk, this ceremony is to newly celebrate the establishment of the day’s victorious supremacy. Father, please be with us here and accept our offering with a joyful heart.
Father, please accept with joy everything that True Parents on earth want to offer to You with a joyful heart as we are completely one with You in spirit and flesh. And please make a universal beginning centering on the core of the realm of the resonance of heaven and earth, so that God’s subjective love, which is the one origin of all this, can begin on the cosmic level. Please, Father, I ask for Your blessing for all these things to be successful.
In this holy ceremony, held with all the leaders of the great religions who are in the spirit world, because everything exists on the unified level between the Kingdom of Heaven, paradise and hell, the earth also must be in accord with that standard of liberation. For this to come about, we must realize the realm of the corresponding counterpart of the spirit world on earth, through our resolve, by establishing one heart, one body and one mindset and offering this before Heaven. I earnestly ask Your blessing so that Your own fatherland and Your hometown–the unified world in which we can restore what was bound in the family and offer it before Heaven–can begin anew.
All of Your wishes and hopes centering on Your one mindset must all go well, make rapid progress and keep advancing to realize unlimited blessing and victory through Your will. I earnestly ask for Your blessing so that the earthly realm can keep up with that which Your all-transcendence, omnipresence, supreme authority and omnipotence are bringing about–according to the original blueprint–in the spirit world, that we can advance into the world, the heavenly kingdom and the spirit world. I earnestly beseech You to accept with joy all that I have asked of You, and earnestly report all this in the name of True Parents! Amen! [Amen!] Amen! [Amen!] Amen! [Amen!].
Father’s Speech at Pledge Service
You have to realize that the Family Pledge is your pledge, your family’s pledge. The Family Pledge that we use in the Unification Church doesn’t belong to heaven or earth; it is your Family Pledge. You have to have a firm sense of conviction about this point when you set out, when you make your start. Do you understand? [Yes.]
Up until now you didn’t think about yourselves, but rather went through the pledge thinking of something else. However, now you need to have “one heart, one body, one mindset,” so that your mind and body become one, and so that you have a unified philosophical approach. That is what the family is–a philosophy. The model family that is God’s ideal of creation! That is what needs to be settled, to be firmly rooted into place. That is the reason why we just completed the rally for the Realm of Life of the Unity and Completed Settlement of the Parents of Heaven and Earth. And that is why we need to come back to this place and take all these things and declare a new, unified beginning on earth. It really is a precious day!
So here we are on Kae Cheon Il. If we go by the number of occasions, today is the 15th, but if we go by actual years, today marks 14 years [since the initial declaration]. It is the same with Mother. After 14 years, in 1960 I returned to the same position and attended Mother.
All those kinds of things have to be done in accordance with the heavenly schedule. That is why we have to finish building Cheon Il Guk within the number 12, by the year 2012. If you can understand just how assiduously, how furiously Heaven is working for that, and become a family that can resolve to make that happen, and a family that can represent that goal, then by cooperating with Father, your family can inherit that entire history. Just as Father started out from the era of the individual and moved on to cover and go over the eight stages, to finally hold the Coronation Ceremony for the Kingship of God, your family can inherit that, and the start we are making today is the start that belongs to that kind of family. That’s what you need to understand. Do you follow? [Yes.]
Seen from this point of view, we can say that the Family Pledge is an oath, or vow, that the families of heaven and earth make in a public way; it is a public pledge. So that is why I’m telling you all to go to your hometowns. That’s the first verse: “Our family” has to seek our original homeland and establish the original ideal of creation, the Kingdom of God on earth and in heaven, centering on true love. In other words, those central families are you. And at this point, you have to resolve to do just that. You should hold your resolution rally and then represent Heaven, and you can’t do that by simply following the ways of the world.
If and when Korea becomes the restored homeland, all our families from across the world have to come here, and then we must undertake the formation of clans and the formation of a nation, starting from the formation of new families that transcend ethnicity. Because that has not yet been achieved, your families have to stand in the core position and initiate this work from the position of core families. This is a very serious undertaking. If someone should go astray or go amiss, Heaven will not simply ignore it or allow things to go unchecked. Already the time when you could simply repent has passed.
In the case of blessed families, the husband and wife live together after they get married, don’t they? But that sort of freedom is not what freedom is. This tradition shows just how important it is for blessed families to attend God and God’s family, in line with the original will of God. From that close position, they have to prepare a family-level foundation, a clan-level foundation, an ethic foundation upon which God can work. Of course, now we are able to bless all the people, and you here in Korea have to do just that, no matter how hard it may seem. If this opportunity is missed, it will become a problem. They will have to hand their place over to those who come in from overseas. In other words, we are now moving into the era of a colossal shift. You have to be aware of that point as you attend this ceremony.
We cannot have just anyone here to attend this ceremony. The church directors, who are like the priests, and then the family representatives, and then the peace ambassadors, representing the nation–we have to transcend these three levels of representatives.
So we have to make a new start as parents. And then what? The mother carries out the necessary education. The father establishes and teaches the tradition centering on the love of the realm of Heaven, and then works through the mother. That’s why God is not only the parent but also the teacher and guide. Once you become a teacher, you have to establish and raise a family that can take the owner’s role. Your families have been floating around like wandering clouds, but now all these things have to find settlement and take root in your families–your families are to be the landing pads. Do you understand what I’m talking about?
Rallies for the Realm of Life of the Unity and Completed Settlement of the Parents of Heaven and Earth…! We have to bring this realm down to earth, this is what we have to plant firmly on the ground. And this is why you here on earth have to make this resolution, just as God and the five great saints in the spirit world have done. They made their determination and reported this through their written resolution. Before the True Parents of Heaven and Earth, before the Heavenly Parent and the Earthly Parents, they are making a declaration. They are declaring, “No matter what, we will become a family that establishes the tradition of the Heavenly Kingdom, representing these religions, representing all individuals.”
What did Jesus say when he prayed? He prayed in the name of Jesus, of a blessed central family, right? [Yes.] Do you understand? It isn’t just some joke or game. This content has the power to go right down to the very marrow of your bones. And that is where it needs to go. The bone marrow is the place where life can be created. So things are going to get even more serious. Don’t just do as you please–smoking cigarettes or fooling around. Don’t just blurt out words that have no meaning, or the kinds of things that Satan likes people to say. This is what I’m telling you.
That is a difficult way to live, so we have to establish a standard by writing up a constitution that even deals with those kinds of things. Then we have to announce it. The evil world is not capable of doing that, so I am taking responsibility for it all. I am taking responsibility and holding back the tide until we can establish a nation. Because all of you are surrounded by that environment, if you cannot become a family that can live that way or do those things in my place, you will all be washed away. When it becomes autumn in an orchard, when the fruit is ripe and the harvest comes, then the leaves on the trees all fall to the ground and become fertilizer. That’s what I’m talking about.
So now, we are entering a time of that kind of crucial reformation. We are entering an era of colossal change and great revolution. And at such a time, we cannot get on by simply relying on our own way of thinking. We cannot simply say “I wish I could do as I like!” From this point on, the era when we can say to our parents “Please do this or that for me. I want this and that!” has passed. What you do has to conform to heavenly law.
From now on, you need to conform to the law. Kwak Chung-hwan cannot simply come up to me whenever he wants and chat about what suits him. He should come only after he has been called. And it is the same with the blessed families. The time when you could just do what you please is passing. The period of my public life is now passing, and I have to establish the heavenly schedule and program, the constitution and the laws. Before I go, I have to enact all the necessary commandments and precepts so that they can be implemented here on earth.
The spirit world is the unified world–the world of unification. Because I have opened up all the roads and pathways, you will not find hell or paradise or heaven there–because I have built a super highway. So we are getting everything ready–before the Parents go there. The same goes for you. You have to arrange things here on earth and also in the spirit world in the same way, so that you can follow your True Parents. If you don’t arrange and put things in order, you’ll be unable to follow True Parents. So you have to be absolutely clear that we are really starting things now for sure. This is the real start. Do you understand? [Yes, we do.]
In this sense, the Family Pledge belongs to you; it is your Family Pledge. You need to realize that it is a pledge that God has given to your family for the sake of your family. And that is why, when we carried out this recent rally, Jesus and the four great saints with him made the resolution and carried out the rally together.
Your minds and your bodies are divided, aren’t they? Well, your rally has to be a unified rally, unified, centering on all your ten senses–your five physical senses plus your five spiritual senses. And your family has to do that, and your clan has to do that, too. You see, what you have to understand is that we are entering the era when that kind of thing is possible. You understand this, right? [Yes.] This is the reason I asked for representatives of the world to gather here if possible.
So, please keep this in mind, and when you read the Family Pledge, read it with that kind of mindset. You know, you didn’t just come here alone; if you are a Kim, then you came here representing all the Kims. The spirit world representatives also offered a greeting, didn’t they? You have to bring people that Heaven likes. You must select and bring representatives of nations. Not just anyone should come.
And you need to sort out the situation of your Total Living Offering. It won’t be possible for someone with their own possessions to come. Do you understand? [Yes.] Your own knowledge or your own authority or your own money–if you have this kind of thinking, you won’t be able to participate. Those things did not exist before the fall. So you have to ignore all those things, put your own self at the center, and firmly establish [settle] a family that can be totally one with God.
Up until now, you have basically just made your families and lived as you’ve liked. You have even been fighting. But you shouldn’t fight. You mustn’t fight. A man is not allowed to hit his wife. So when you have made your new beginning, you have to set up a new way of education. The Cosmic Parents are showing you all the things that have never been taught. That was one source of God’s grief–He has never been able to educate His children. And this is what hoondokhae is made to fix; this is the education that God has been longing to share with His children. So keep that in mind, and just be aware that this Family Pledge is very important.
So in order to participate here, you have to be able to write everything you do every day in a diary, and mark each day with an X [bad, not meeting the standard] or with an O [Okay, meeting the standard]. You must be able to be in the position of having 365 days of the year marked O. You need to be able to have that kind of result to be able to come to these occasions. If you can’t meet that standard, then the ancestors of that country, all the people who have been forgiven, will be besmirched. That is why the ancestors from the spirit world will not simply let things slide–they will take action, and they will strike. Wherever you go, they will disturb you. All the situations in the spirit world will have to be indemnified beginning with the most difficult kind of lifestyle, the life of a slave. That is the kind of age we are now entering. Do you understand? [Yes.]
That is the kind of important era we are entering, so keep the attitude that “the pledge is my pledge,” and “the Family Pledge is my family’s pledge.” Make sure you understand that point. And in the future, when you come here, don’t just come alone. Coming alone is not an option. Come as a couple, or come in a group of three. If you can manage it, come with three other members of your family….
The church leaders don’t have their own possessions, do they? That’s exactly how it is with me. I don’t own anything. So what is the next thing? Centering on the love of parents, a true father has to become one with a true mother and raise the children. When raising the children, you have to raise sons and daughters who can meet and continue the standard of your own parents’ family, because that is the family from which you began. For that reason, children have to follow the way of absolute obedience. Absolute faith. Absolute love. Absolute obedience.
I know that this is the kind of era we are entering. That’s why I’m giving it to you straight today. If you get caught not meeting this standard, it won’t matter one iota whether you have lots of land or what position you’ve held or whatever. It won’t help you one bit when you get to the spirit world. None of that means anything. Be fully aware of this. So now we are starting out with the Family Pledge. You will have to be very serious about your pledge, to read the pledge with the kind of heart and mindset that represents history, and with which you can proclaim before the cosmos that this day is the day of determination, of resolution. Do you understand? [Yes, we do.]…
From the individual, to the family, clan, race [ethnic group]… You have to say to yourself: “The providential will has longed for the tradition of Cheon Il Guk, the providential will has long sought for the ideal of Creation. From a position that can unite completely with that will, my family will focus and unify the tradition of absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience–I will go forward to the nation, to the spirit world, and to the unified, cosmic Kingdom of Heaven.”
We have to become the partners of Heaven. We must center on our mental and physical resolve and our conviction based on “one heart, one body, one mindset” to follow the most proper path, the way Heaven wants us to go. I want you to inherit that same tradition standing before the absolute subject, God, standing before the True Parents (who stand as God’s object on earth) and standing before the cosmos. I want you to raise your hands as people who have brought to completion the family ideal, the ideal that will not divert from Heaven’s will or from True Parents’ will. Do you follow?
Repeat after me. Today… [Today…] on the 14th anniversary of Cheon Il Guk!2 [on the 14th anniversary of Cheon Il Guk!] we, [we,] the blessed families of heaven and earth! [the blessed families of heaven and earth!] as the family representatives initiating Cheon Il Guk! [as the family representatives initiating Cheon Il Guk!] now after 14 years! [now after 14 years!] will consolidate and prepare for the future [will consolidate and prepare for the future] our clans and our peoples and the nation and world [our clans and our peoples and the nation and world] and all the things required for this providence! [and all the things required for this providence!]
This is the stance we need to take when we pledge ourselves to this providence. Do you understand? [Yes, we understand.]
Our family pledges! [Our family pledges!] to establish a tradition! [to establish a tradition!] that will not deviate, be at cross-purposes to or go against! [that will not deviate, be at cross-purposes to or go against!] the well-being of our nation or of our descendants for a thousand generations! [the well-being of our nation or of our descendants for a thousand generations!] We will transcend! [We will transcend!] even absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience! [even absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience!], and head towards [and head towards!] the ideal of unification and ideal of creation [the ideal of unification and ideal of creation!] which dedicates the new individual, the new family, the new clan and people and nation and world and cosmos! [which dedicates the new individual, the new family, the new clan and people and nation and world and cosmos!] to the Cosmic Parents! [to the Cosmic Parents!]
Put all this in the record. [Yes.] At this point in time, you cannot simply live carelessly or according to your own desire. Today marks the day which True Parents have decided on as the start-out day, the starting point. The family represents the foundation for settlement, upon which we can pass through the standard based on the new constitution, based on the different laws. That foundation for settlement isn’t found in the nation, nor in the clan…. For that reason, we must think, “In my family, we will manifest absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience. We will create that kind of family, a family that has no shame in front of the realm of God’s all-transcendent, omnipresent, supreme and omnipotent being.” We must have that kind of thinking in everything we do.
And now that you have made this determination, you have to return to the satanic world and live with that kind of standard, a standard that makes other people say, “Those people went to Korea and came back very different.” Don’t do anything that will bring you into unity with the satanic world. Don’t even play or take amusement with the satanic world. We have to become the masters, the owners who can establish the tradition of our own nation, the nation of Cheon Il Guk. That’s the resolution I’m asking you to make, do you understand? [Yes.]
If you have a spare handkerchief or something, wrap a piece of this anniversary cake up, take it home with you and put it somewhere safe, somewhere where you keep your precious possessions. After you have a taste, of course. Keep it as a treasure you can leave for your descendants. Leave it as a keepsake of the time you shared this cake here with heaven and earth.
If you take this kind of material blessing to your house, and if you love and respect it as a memento of blessing and prosperity for your sons and daughters and descendants, then that standard, that respect becomes a condition in itself by which you can mobilize all your ancestors in the spirit world. You’ll be establishing the condition that they attended this ceremony. Do you understand? [Yes, we understand.] You really need to do that….
Don’t just steal things to eat in the satanic world, okay? And don’t swindle anyone just to earn your keep. You have to perspire and bleed and shed tears to raise your children, you know. There is nothing else that Heaven desires. So should you live well, or live in suffering? From the point of view of society, it means the most difficult living circumstances due to having offered ourselves totally as a living offering….
As I have brought everything together and accomplished everything, I must go to the place of liberation. Haven’t I arrived there? [Yes.] I have given you the special authority of liberation through which you can fully settle and live with God. This is the Realm of Life of the Unity and Completed Settlement of the Parents of Heaven and Earth. It is really an amazing thing that we have come to the realm where we can all live together with True Parents. If you make a mistake here, you’ll have to pay indemnity thousands of times greater than the indemnity Adam had to pay. I won’t give any attention to that kind of follower in the future. If someone falls, it would be better if they had no descendants. That’s how serious the matter is.
Father’s Speech at the Commemorative Service
What new resolution should we make? God has only one mind. He has nothing but one heart, one body and one mindset. With one heart, one body and one mindset God created all things in the universe. For whom did God create all things in the universe? For mankind. The momentous conclusion is that we must be the owners of the earthly realm who bring to fruition the path of filial children, loyal citizens, saints and holy sons and daughters of God whose hearts resemble His.
The Chinese character for Cheon (heaven), is made of two Chinese characters, the one for the number “two” and the one for “person.” Cheon Il Guk is the nation in which two people become one. It is the nation in which subject and object become one, mind and body become one, father and son become one, husband and wife become one, and elder brother and younger brother become one! Whether from the east, west, or south, two people must initiate love according to the great principle of heaven and earth, which is the beginning point of 360 degrees.
If we look centering on God and True Parents, it is the same from all 360 degrees. If we establish all 360 degrees, then because we are people who have subjective character like God’s, we can be like God and True Parents, that is, from all 360 degrees–even from a diametrically opposite position. We have to settle in a world where every degree of the 360 degrees resembles God and True Parents. This is God’s ideal of creation. The purpose of the history of the providence of salvation, which is the providence of recreation, is to realize such a world. We all can have God’s heart. We can live together with God wherever we are. It doesn’t matter whether we are in the east, west or south;…we can live together with God as long as we are one in heart, body and mindset with Him. Do you understand? [Yes.] Say it! One heart, one body, one mindset! [One heart, one body, one mindset!] One heart, one body and one mindset centering on true love is not God’s own self-centered idea. It means repeatedly investing for the sake of others with one heart, one body and one mindset. If the position of the parent is that of the subject, giving love based upon the principle of “one heart, one body, one mindset” over thousands or tens of thousands of years, everything can be equalized.
It is not individuals but families that have to be perfected in all degrees, in a complete circle, as the owners of the existing world. Do you understand? There are parents and children as well as elder and younger siblings. Those two parties must have the same value. The higher party must raise the lower party to the point where they are equal and things have leveled out between them. The higher party must be willing to accept the lower party.
If you have a father who’s very different in personality from you, you must center yourself on the ideal and be willing to accept your father and be of benefit to him. Only then, can your relationship with your father generate circular motion. Any circular movement can gradually reach its limit and stop. To make the circular motion eternal, you must invest your energy strongly enough to make the circle spin continuously, by going beyond the critical point in your investment. Just as God has invested and forgotten how much He has done for us, we must return without limit the limitless love we have received.
As my father’s personality and responsibilities are different from mine, I should invest myself to be of benefit to my father because I am connected to the power that teaches me to repay what I have been given. I must invest myself to be of benefit to the whole, completing the circle. The circle should be in perpetual motion to maintain its existence. God doesn’t have anything; He has given everything He has. What we have received from God should grow here to an extent equal to that which it grows in heaven. Looking at it from all 360 degrees, everything should be equal. Parents and children, husbands and wives, brothers and sisters must be one at the center. Eventually, they should all be one at the root of the heart of the love of all things.
Fourteen years have passed and we are now celebrating the 15th occasion of historic Kae Cheon Il, which signifies a broad conclusion [of the providence] and a new step forward. But how should we prepare for it? Based on what Kae Cheon Il signifies, your families should add something positive to the inheritance you have received on the foundation I have established. It means that you should be better than your ancestors. Parents want their children to be better than themselves. Elder brothers want their younger brothers to be better than themselves. Wives want their husbands to be better than themselves. Based on that very principle, in order to find the perfect foundation, you must be a benefit to the foundation you have received from your parents. If you are motivated by the love of God, you must establish families with the heart of God at their center, so as to eventually create tribes and a world belonging to God through expanding that family ideal.
By the same principle, that which has been a moving force for a myriad of years is still capable of molding the future vertically and horizontally for eternity. It moves the world eternally. With that in mind, you should always create one heart, one body, and one mindset when you interact with your elders. Your elders expect you to be of one heart, one body and one mindset with them when you are with them. You should receive everything of theirs 100 percent, and return something additional that you have created.
So it is absolutely logical that when one owes someone, he has to pay his debt. Do you understand? [Yes.] Am I right? [Yes.] When a person comes to Sutaek-ri in Korea to celebrate a holy day and to meet True Parents after having made a sincere foundation of heart by blessing his relatives and other people he knows, I am responsible to return something of greater value to him than what he has brought to me.
Because I must motivate people and inspire them to be devoted and giving, I have to return something more valuable to people who have come after having made sacrifices. If you owe something to someone, do you want to return something good or bad to him? [We want to return something good.] Are you sure? [Yes!] Those who are absolutely sure of that, raise your hands. If you are such people, you deserve to be true parents, true wives and true elder and younger brothers in your homes. You also deserve to be leaders of true-family tribes. If you have lived a public life with that principle in mind from the beginning of your lives to the end, then to the end of your earthly life and in the spirit world, you could surely be sons and daughters of liberation that are naturally able to transcend national boundaries.
We have to become one in heart [with God]. Say “One heart (Il-shim)” [One heart.] Il-shim means Il Ma-um.3 One body (Il chae)! [One body!] Mind and body have to be one, vertically and horizontally and front and back. One heart and one body; and next is thought (saeng-gak). One thought (saeng-gak), one mindset (nyeom), means one thought (hana-eui saeng-gak). The Chinese character for nyeom means “today’s mind.”
What is the most fearful human organ? What problems can arise from that organ when you stand in God’s court in the heavenly nation? In God’s court, you’ll be asked whether or not you lived as your own primary owner or whether you lived your life as though you were owned by your spouse. You’ll be asked whether you were the first or second owner of yourself….
Male and female, subject and object are supposed to be one. If you oppose that, you are violating heavenly law. That’s why a bride and her groom should make an oath in front of the heavenly law: “I will offer all of myself to my spouse for eternity!” You must swear an oath and keep it. It is a matter of having one mindset. Keep that in mind; from today you must begin with new resolve….
When the time of the great upheaval comes on the road of the dispensation, everything will be turned upside down. A grandfather will be like a grandson. A father will be like a son. An elder brother will be like a younger brother. Things that no one ever imagined in all of history will become real in front of your eyes. That’s why all the doors must be open and I am opening those doors. There will be a great upheaval.
What’s today? It’s Kae Cheon Il [literally: the day of the opening of heaven], isn’t it? We’re opening heaven. Think about it. Remember–one heart, one body, one mindset! Do you understand? [Yes.] The seed of an ideal family is the seed from which an ideal nation and world grows. Where does such a seed originate? It originates in a family. A president of a nation is born into a family, isn’t he? [Yes.] A king is born into a family, too, isn’t he? [Yes.] Everyone’s origin is the same. You must remember that.
God’s plan of “one heart, one body, one mindset” could not become an entrenched reality. You must try to realize this, in place of Adam and Eve, by achieving a perfect standard. You can directly communicate with God if you have the same heart wherever you are–above, below, in the east, in the west or on any other of the 360 degrees of a circle and at whatever stage you are at–from the level of the individual to that of the world. Sons and daughters of the ideal unified world that are one in heart, body and mindset [with God] are without a doubt princes and princesses.
You must all go over the new mountain pass today on Kae Cheon Il. Starting from the day you register as people of the heavenly nation, you must change your life. You must have a new mind, a new body and new thinking so as to become families that eternally inherit the realm of peace and expand it. Those who have made up your minds to do so should stand up. As you stand, you should all raise both of your arms and make a pledge before God that can never be forgotten! [Amen!] (applause)
