The FFWPU-SENEGAL along with UPF-SENEGAL organized on Thursday, January 19th of this year, the celebration of the 5th Anniversary of True Mother’s visit to Goree Island. Were present the National Leader of Sengal, Dr Abderrahmane GAYE, the UPF-SENEGAL President, Excellency Dethie DIOUF, the UPF-FRANCE Vice-president, Mr Patrick JOUAN, Goree Island Deputy Mayor, Mrs Henriette PINA, WFWP-SENEGAL President, Mrs Paule Cecile SAGNA, WFWP-SENEGAL Vice-President, Mrs Veronique DIOP, Renowned Senegalese Actress and Peace Ambassador, Mrs Mame Victor Samb and a few Peace Ambassadors as well as members of the HPHC-SENEGAL.
The event went as follow: A moment of prayer at the House of Slaves was guided by Mrs Paule Cecile Sagna who read True Mother’s prayer of January 19, 2018 along with prayers of representatives of Christianity and Islam. After moving to the Mayor’s office, Mrs Henriette PINA, gave a welcoming speech in which she thanked UPF and True Mother for their visit and the boat offered to Goree 5 years ago. Following her speech, a recap video on the Senegal events of January 2018 was displayed. Right after, Dr Abderrahmane Gaye took the floor centering his introductory remarks True Mother’s January 2018 Speech, reminding the participants of the mission given to them 5 years ago.
The meeting then continued with a speech from Excellency Dethie Diouf in which he spoke about the unique vision of peace developed by Father and Mother and exhorted the participants to live following the values of Interdependence, Mutual Prosperity and Universal Values. After his speech, Mr Patrick Jouan gave his remarks and talked about the history behind the acquisition of the boat offered to Goree by True Mother, what, to him, this action meant and the impact of True Parent’s lifelong work for peace.
Afterward, 2 new Peace Ambassadors were presented, Mrs Begué Dieng and Mrs Aissatou Gueye. Each of them gave a speech full of thanks and determination for the mission they have received. Then, videos interviews were shown in which the Mayor’s Chief of Staff, Mr Lamine Gueye, the Head Nurse of the health station, Mr Virgil Ribera Ndeye and the Pilot of the boat the “Victoria”, Mr Issa Ndoye, spoke about the impact of the boat on the lives of the island’s citizens as they recounted a couple of impactful instances and thanked UPF and True Mother for the invaluable gift.
A video of the interpretation of the song “Tajabone” by The Little Angels was displayed followed by songs offered to True Mother by the BFD Director of Senegal, Mrs Marie Yamuwa Diedhiou and her daughter, Mrs Yun Sook Pauline Diedhiou Gaye. After what a few to the floor to give remarks of thanks and determination, among which Mrs Mame Victor Samb.
Dr. Gaye then took the floor to thank the participants and conclude the event before the congregation proceeded to the cake cutting.
