Abidjan, December 23, 2025 – On the eve of Christmas celebrations, Ivory Coast resonated with the spirit of excellence and peace. The Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) officially bestowed the prestigious title of Global Women Ambassador for Peace upon Her Excellence Madame Euphrasie Kouassi Yao.
This high distinction honors a stateswoman of immense responsibility: Special Advisor to the President of the Republic on Gender, National Coordinator of the Compendium of Female Competences of Ivory Coast, and UNESCO Chair for “Water, Women, and Decision-Making Power.”
National President of WFWP Ivory Coast, Madame Enan Marie-Thérèse, decided to confer this honor following a high-level report presented at the United Nations in New York. This report, reviewed by experts from the World Bank, SIGI, and various African representatives, established Ivory Coast as an African champion in gender equality.
With this appointment, Madame Euphrasie Kouassi Yao becomes the first Ivorian woman to join this elite circle, alongside prominent figures such as H.E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (former President of Liberia and Nobel Peace Prize laureate), as well as several current and former First Ladies from nations such as Sao Tome and Principe and Malawi.

Media Acclaim for National Expertise
The ceremony saw record-breaking mobilization from national television, radio, and print media. Speaking to the press, Madame Enan Marie-Thérèse reiterated that this distinction is the fruit of the leadership and gender expertise demonstrated by the laureate during the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW 69) in New York.
Reflection
From the Laureate: A Consecration of Scientific and Peace Expertise For Madame Yao, this award recognizes her scientific contributions (UNESCO, SIGI, CSW 69) and her status as a national icon for peace. She stated:
“Received on the eve of Christmas, this recognition strengthens a deep conviction: peace is not a slogan; it is the foundation of all sustainable action. Whether working for gender equality, developing the first National Action Plan for Resolution 1325, or launching CREA-PAIX to mobilize women and youth as peacemakers—it all stems from a single commitment to creating more just and resilient societies.
I thank the Women’s Federation for World Peace and its National President, Madame Marie-Thérèse Enan.
Mother Moon is a very good person. Often, those who serve God suffer greatly—even the Saints and Sages throughout the history of Divine Providence. It is an injustice, especially given her age! May Almighty God ensure that this situation is resolved quickly. I have been to Korea, and I know that Mother Moon is a very good person who has accomplished great things for the world!”
For WFWP Ivory Coast: This event has significantly strengthened the moral authority of National President Madame Enan Marie-Thérèse, demonstrating the organization’s capacity to engage the highest levels of state government and the national media.
