Beloved brothers and sisters,

Warm greetings to you all.

Last week, on the theme “The Suffering of Our True Mother and Our Mission: A Time to Awaken and Make Changes,” we explored the Three Great Blessings that our Creator, Heavenly Parent, desires and longs to see fulfilled. Today, we will focus on the First Blessing, “Be fruitful”—which is perfecting our individual character—and take time to reflect deeply on how we can practice this in our daily lives while attending True Parents.

The Providential Definition of the First Blessing: The Path to Becoming the External God

The words “Be Fruitful” are the first blessing Heaven gave to humankind. Genesis 1:26 says: “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…” These are precious words that reveal the secret of the creation of human beings in God’s image.

True Parents said the following in relation to this:

“As Adam and Eve mature and perfect their individual character, attaining divine nature, they become the substantial object partners who resemble God. Achieving this state, we human beings become the external God, and the invisible God becomes the internal God.”

The First Blessing means that each of us unifies mind and body to become a “small substantial Heavenly Parent” who resembles the Creator Heavenly Parent both internally and externally—that is, a person perfected in “true love.” This is Heavenly Parent’s desire and Word for us, and at the same time, it is the most fundamental goal we must achieve in our life.

The Practice of Individual Perfection: Unity of Mind and Body (True Father and True Mother)

Dear brothers and sisters, True Parents gave us these words regarding individual perfection: “Before you desire to govern the universe, perfect your dominion over yourself!”

These words still move our hearts. Among the countless teachings True Parents have bequeathed to us, this teaching forms the core of the First Blessing and the foundation that shows us how we should live.

1 Corinthians 3:16 heralds this state of perfected individuality: “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?”

Thus, when our mind and body become one centered on Heaven, we become temples in which Heavenly Parent dwells and substantial beings upon whom Heaven’s Holy Spirit descends—this is the essence of the First Blessing.

Our Foundation and Growth Model: True Parents

Then, how can we achieve individual perfection?

The first step is to be aware of the foundation we stand on and follow the model course of True Parents who walked this path before us. That foundation is clear: we must recognize the fact that we are beings born from the Creator Heavenly Parent. Upon this foundation of awareness, we practice true love for the world according to the words of True Parents who have restored the original position before the Fall.

Early on, True Parents showed us the model course toward individual perfection. Starting from the position of “servant of servants,” they achieved victory through all eight stages vertically and horizontally, and upon that foundation, through the declaration at Cheon Hwa Gung in Las Vegas on April 14, 2012, True Parents proclaimed: “The two persons, Sun Myung Moon and Hak Ja Han, have returned to the position of Adam and Eve before the Fall.” On the basis of this victorious original standard of creation, they proclaimed Foundation Day in 2013 and opened the gates of Cheon Il Guk.

The model course True Parents showed throughout their lives is the path we must take toward individual perfection. This path begins with a life of seeking to resemble True Parents, that is, by attending to True Parents in our lives.

The Key to Establishing Heavenly Parent’s Identity: The Status of God the Mother

Beloved members,

The second essential point we need to understand in order to attain individual perfection and become true children of True Parents is to know the status and essence of the Only Begotten Daughter, True Mother.

In the 6,000-year course of the history of God’s providence, of human history, through the Only Begotten Son Jesus and through True Father who had inherited his mission, the providence of salvation unfolded centered on God as the Heavenly Father. During this time, the position of the Heavenly Mother remained veiled, and the world’s understanding of the Divine was centered solely around God as the Heavenly Father.

However, God the Creator is not just our Father. Through the birth and mission of the Only Begotten Daughter, our True Mother, the long-hidden position of Heavenly Mother has at last been revealed. Mother has clearly proclaimed to humankind that God is our Heavenly Parent, in the position of both Father and Mother. Through Chambumo Ron, The Epic History of the Chosen Han People of Korea, and her autobiography True Mother has awakened us to this evident truth.

Conclusion: Our Mission as True Parents’ Children

We who have received the Blessing from True Parents are their children.

True Mother has clearly spoken to us/ the blessed families, about our mission: “Let us proudly testify to True Parents and love them!”  These words convey our essential mission —to clearly reveal True Parents’ identity and essence to the world. This is the outward expression of our faith.

Now, let us consider what this command truly implies. Only those who can take pride in, and love themselves, their family, and their faith community can genuinely take pride in and love True Parents truly.  Therefore, the first step is to be able to take pride in and love oneself.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Individual perfection is not achieved through material success or the worldly honors that others may admire. The perfection of character as taught by True Parents is only fulfilled when we are reborn in the new life and new lineage they have given us. Because of this, the path to individual perfection will open when we continuously strive to follow the life course of True Parents, who have shown us the model course to that perfection. Thus we must not stop along the way; we are called to walk this path throughout our lives.

The path might feel lonely and difficult sometimes, but Heaven’s glory and blessings will be there when it ends.  As we practice true love in our daily lives and are thus transformed, Heaven will surely rejoice—and that joy will be evidence of our progress toward individual perfection.

I believe that each small step you take toward individual perfection becomes a step that fulfills Heaven’s hope and a seed that will bring transformation to you, to your family, and to your church community.

I hope that, also today, you will continue to advance without pause on your journey toward individual perfection within the realm of True Parents’ love.

Next week, building on this week’s discussion, I propose we explore practical methods for implementing the First Blessing, under the title: ‘Confidence in Witnessing to True Parents: Presenting Hope Through the True Love Community.’

I hope to see you all again next week. Until then, I wish for Heavenly Parent’s blessings to be upon you and your families.

Thank you.
