Where Hearts Gather, There Is Hope

It has been one week since True Mother was detained at the Seoul Detention Center. During this time, some reports and stories may have caused confusion and unrest among our members. Now, more than ever, it is essential that we uphold the absolute standard of our Heavenly Parent and True Parents and hold on firmly to each another, unshaken. We offer our deepest and heartfelt gratitude to all members who have supported with unwavering hearts until today.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning (September 23), when the decision for True Mother’s detention was announced, our youth pastors were the first to respond. Walking the public path under Mother’s love and blessing, since Monday (September 22), they have been undertaking demanding tasks without hesitation, remaining steadfastly by True Mother’s side throughout every step of her journey. Having fervently prayed for the warrant to be dismissed so that she could return to Cheongpyeong, the news of her detention struck them with deep sorrow. With heavy hearts, they made their way to Cheongpyeong, seeking guidance on how best to proceed.

During this sudden situation, the two Inheritors of Heaven’s Love and Blessing were the first to offer comfort to the young people’s hearts. The next day, they talked with representatives of the youth leaders, deeply understanding their love and devotion for True Mother. The youth pastors gained strength from this honest conversation and returned to the Seoul Detention Center. Instead of protesting, they turned it into a place of prayer where members’ hearts could be gathered and lifted up to Heaven. From that day, they took turns keeping vigil, keeping the flame of prayer alive.

Later, a special prayer gathering drew more than 500 young people from across the country, including its southernmost provinces. Contrary to some misunderstandings, our young members are enduring these hardships not out of political calculation or mistrust, but with a single, burning heart as True Mother’s children, devoted solely to loving and protecting her. Each and every one of their actions is born from pure filial piety towards their Parents, transcending the outside opinions and conflicting judgments of others. In our community, their pure hearts have touched a chord and brought hope: we, the members, are sending our appreciation and deep respect for their dedication and efforts.

United through our interactions and harmony

Since Tuesday (September 23), many members, including district church leaders and heads of various organizations representing the Family Federation in Korea have expressed, in various ways, their concern for True Mother and their hope that we may wisely overcome this trial. The Inheritors of Heaven’s Love and Blessing, along with the True Family Four-Position Foundation, met directly with these leaders, listened carefully to their words, cleared up misunderstandings, and shared True Mother’s true intentions with them.

The role of former presidents of our Family Federation was particularly important throughout this process. They engaged in meaningful discussions with the Inheritors and members of the Four Position Foundation about challenges currently faced and about the way forward, reaching a consensus to unite and work together actively. Thanks to their initiative, on the 27th, a valuable roundtable was held to gather perspectives from various sectors—including National Messiahs, senior pastors, the Heewon student association and Blessing group leaders. Moving ahead, the former FFWPU presidents have pledged to serve as bridges of communication, relaying the diverse voices from the field to the council of representatives. Seeing so many members step forward despite their busy schedules, with a proactive desire to protect True Mother has brought us all great inspiration and hope.

From Anxiety to Trust

Even in this challenging time, when everyone is going forward together with one heart and shared wisdom, it is regrettable that differing opinions and unverified stories have sown seeds of anxiety and confusion among our members. In moments of trial, our hearts are easily shaken, and even small cracks can threaten the unity of the entire community. It is precisely in such times, however, that we must not be swayed by emotional turbulence or unverified reports. Instead, we must reaffirm in our hearts the absolute standard that forms the foundation of the providence and strengthen the following guiding principles with unwavering resolve:

First, True Parents are leading today’s providence in complete unity centered on the will of our Heavenly Parent. They are our joint central figures guiding the providence with one heart and purpose. Therefore, to separate one from the other or to impose a hierarchical order between them from a human perspective is to misunderstand the very essence of True Parents. Such a view undermines the integrity of the truth and can cause unnecessary confusion within the community. That is why we must stand firmly upon the absolute standard of unity that True Parents embody. This is the very center of our faith that will allow us to overcome the current turmoil.

Second, we have always striven to attend True Parents—the embodiment of the Word—as if they were life itself, and we have striven toward the realization of Cheon Il Guk. The Word is not merely a collection of letters recorded in books, but a living truth that breathes and unfolds with the progress of the providence. Because True Parents are the embodiment of that living Word, it is through them that we have responded to the challenges of our time, following the ever-deepening and expanding revelation of Heaven’s Will. Our faith is not anchored in the past—it is alive in the present, holding fast to the life-giving words of True Parents, who guide us at this very moment.

The Inheritors of Heaven’s Love and Blessing have emphasized the importance of embracing even those with differing views as we move forward together. They cautioned that thoughts such as “Only I truly understand True Parents” or “Only I truly love the Family Federation” can become expressions of pride that bring pain to our community. Now is not the time for criticism, but a time to compensate for each other’s shortcomings, and to unite our hearts.

Dear beloved members,

We are all enduring a time of sorrow and hardship. Yet even in the midst of these challenges, we continue to walk the path of mature faith—practicing True Parents’ words: “Forgive, love, unite.” We are transforming anger into love and conflict into harmony.

To all members who willingly join us on this journey, we offer our deepest respect and heartfelt gratitude. We firmly believe that on this foundation of united filial hearts, Heaven will surely work new miracles.

마음이 모이는 곳에 희망이 있습니다
  참어머님께서 서울구치소에 머무르신 지 일주일이 되었습니다. 그동안 여러 가지 이야기들로 인해 우리 식구님들께서 마음에 혼란을 겪으셨을지도 모르겠습니다. 그러나 이러한 시기일수록 우리는 하늘부모님과 참부모님이라는 절대적인 기준을 바로 세우고, 흔들림 없이 서로의 손을 잡아주어야 합니다. 오늘까지 한결같은 마음으로 중심을 지켜주신 모든 식구님들께 깊은 감사의 인사를 올립니다.

  어머님 곁을 지키는 청년들의 순수한 효정

  지난 화요일(23일) 새벽, 참어머님의 구속이 결정되자 가장 먼저 움직인 이들은 청년 목회자들이었습니다. 참어머님의 사랑과 축복 속에서 공적인 길을 걷고 있는 이들은, 월요일(22일)부터 궂은일을 마다하지 않고 어머님의 모든 여정에 함께했습니다. 영장심사가 기각되어 어머님께서 청평으로 돌아오시기를 간절히 기도하던 청년들에게 구속 결정 소식은 감당하기 어려운 아픔이었습니다. 이들은 비통한 마음을 안고 앞으로 무엇을 해야 할지 답을 얻고자 청평으로 향했습니다.

  그 갑작스러운 상황 속에서, 가장 먼저 이들의 마음을 따뜻하게 위로해주신 분들은 천애축승자 두 분이었습니다. 다음 날, 천애축승자는 청년 공직자 대표들과 허심탄회한 대화를 나누었고, 어머님을 향한 청년들의 순수한 효정을 깊이 헤아려주었습니다. 이에 용기를 얻은 청년 목회자들은 다시 서울구치소로 향했습니다. 그들은 그곳을 투쟁의 장소가 아닌, 식구님들의 마음을 모아 하늘에 올리는 기도의 중심으로 만들었습니다. 그날부터 매일 교대로 자리를 지키며 기도의 불을 밝히고 있으며, 이후 전남과 경남 등 전국 각지에서 모여든 500여 명의 청년들과 함께 특별 기도회를 열기도 했습니다. 일각의 오해와 달리, 우리 청년들은 그 어떤 정치적 계산이나 불신이 아닌, 오직 참어머님을 사랑하고 지켜드리고자 하는 자식 된 뜨거운 마음 하나로 이 모든 어려움을 감내하고 있습니다. 이들의 행동 하나하나는 외부의 시선이나 엇갈린 평가를 넘어선, 오직 부모를 향한 자식의 순수한 효정에서 비롯된 것입니다. 바로 그 순결한 마음이 우리 공동체에 큰 울림과 희망을 주고 있으며, 이들의 헌신적인 모습에 우리 모두가 마음 깊이 감사와 존경을 보내고 있습니다. 

  소통과 화합으로 하나 되는 우리

  화요일(23일) 이후, 한국 교회를 대표하는 교구장님들을 비롯한 많은 식구 단체장들께서도 참어머님에 대한 걱정과 이번 시련을 지혜롭게 극복하기를 바라는 마음을 다양한 형태로 표현해주셨습니다. 천애축승자와 참가정사위기대는 이분들을 직접 만나 목소리를 경청하며 오해를 풀고, 참어머님께서 진정으로 바라시는 뜻이 무엇인지 함께 나누었습니다.

  특히, 이 과정에서 전직 협회장님들의 역할이 컸습니다. 전직 협회장님들은 천애축승자 및 참가정사위기대와 만나 현재의 어려움과 앞으로 나아갈 방향에 대해 깊이 있는 대화를 나누었고, 하나 되어 적극 협력하기로 뜻을 모았습니다. 이후 27일에는 전직 협회장님들의 주선으로 국가메시아, 원로목회자, 희원회, 축복가정 회장단 등 각계각층의 의견을 수렴하는 귀한 간담회도 가졌습니다. 앞으로 전직 협회장님들께서는 현장의 다양한 목소리를 모아 대표자회의에 전달하는 소통의 다리가 되어주시기로 하셨습니다. 바쁜 일정 속에서도, 이처럼 많은 식구님들이 주체적인 의지로 참어머님을 지키고자 하는 모습에 큰 감동과 희망을 느꼈습니다.

  불안을 넘어 신뢰로

  이처럼 모두가 한마음으로 지혜를 모아 나아가는 어려운 상황 속에서도, 일부 다른 생각과 확인되지 않은 이야기들이 식구들의 마음에 불안과 혼란의 씨앗을 뿌리는 안타까운 일이 있었습니다. 시련의 때일수록 우리의 마음은 쉽게 흔들리고, 작은 균열이 공동체 전체를 위협할 수도 있습니다. 그러나 이럴 때일수록 우리는 감정적인 동요나 불확실한 이야기에 휩쓸리는 것이 아니라, 섭리의 근본이 되는 절대적인 기준을 다시 한번 가슴에 새기고, 다음과 같은 중심을 더욱 굳게 세워야 하겠습니다.

  첫째, 참부모님은 하늘부모님의 뜻을 중심하고 완전한 일체를 이루시어 오늘의 섭리를 이끌고 계십니다. 두 분은 하나의 심정과 목적으로 섭리를 이끄시는 공동주체이십니다. 따라서 어느 한 분을 분리해서 생각하거나 인간적인 관점으로 두 분 사이에 위계적 질서를 두는 것은 참부모님의 본질을 온전히 이해하지 못하는 것입니다. 이러한 시각은 진리의 완전성을 훼손하며, 공동체에 불필요한 혼란을 야기할 수 있습니다. 그렇기에 우리는 참부모님께서 일체되신 절대적 기준 위에 굳건히 서야 합니다. 이것이야말로 지금의 모든 혼란을 이겨낼 수 있는 믿음의 중심입니다.

  둘째, 우리는 언제나 말씀의 실체이신 참부모님을 생명처럼 모시고 천일국을 이루기 위해 노력해 왔습니다. 말씀이란 단순히 책 속에 기록되어 박제된 글자가 아니라, 섭리의 진전과 함께 호흡하는 살아있는 생명의 진리입니다. 참부모님께서는 바로 그 말씀의 실체이시기에, 우리는 그분을 통해 시대의 도전에 답하며 더욱 깊고 넓게 밝혀지는 하늘의 뜻을 따라왔습니다. 우리의 신앙은 과거에 머무는 것이 아니라, 지금 이 순간에도 우리를 이끄시는 참부모님의 생명력 있는 말씀을 붙드는 것입니다.

  천애축승자께서는 이러한 다른 의견을 가진 분들까지도 모두 품고 함께 나아가야 한다고 강조하시며, “나만이 참부모님을 안다”거나 “나만이 가정연합을 사랑한다”는 생각은 우리 공동체에 아픔을 줄 수 있는 교만일 수 있다고 말씀하셨습니다. 지금은 서로를 비판하기보다, 서로의 부족함을 채워주고 마음을 모아야 할 때입니다.

  사랑하는 식구님,

  우리 모두가 안타깝고 힘든 시간을 견디고 있습니다. 어려움 속에서도 우리는 ‘용서하라, 사랑하라, 하나되라!’는 참부모님의 말씀을 실천하며, 분노를 사랑으로, 갈등을 화합으로 승화시키는 성숙한 신앙의 길을 걷고 있습니다. 이 길에 기꺼이 동참해주시는 모든 식구님들께 진심으로 존경과 감사의 마음을 전합니다. 이렇게 하나 된 효정의 터 위에서 하늘의 새로운 기적이 피어날 것을 굳게 믿습니다.
