The Holy Birthday of True Parents and the Holy Ascension of True Father are celebrated annually as part of the New Hope Academy’s official calendar in Honiara, Solomon Islands. On Friday, August 15, 2025, New Hope Academy honored True Father’s Holy Ascension with a vibrant cultural event themed “Peace and Unity in Cultural Diversity.”

Students were grouped according to their respective islands and invited to showcase their unique cultural heritage. The event drew over 500 participants, including the Chairperson of the New Hope Academy (NHA) School Board, early Japanese missionary Mrs. Chinami Norio, the Director of Police, and many parents of NHA students.

The program began with a formal school assembly, where students recited the school slogan, “Crown of Glory.” Former National Leader Rev. Christopher Bokabule shared heartfelt reflections on True Father’s final days on earth, emphasizing the significance of the occasion and encouraging everyone to celebrate with joy and gratitude.

Following the tribute, a commemorative cake was cut, and each student group—alongside their teachers—presented traditional dances, songs, and costumes representing their island cultures. The performances were both beautiful and deeply meaningful.

Through this event, students and teachers gained a deeper understanding of True Father’s life and legacy, while also learning the value of unity and collaboration.

Reflections

Parents and students alike expressed great enjoyment and appreciation for the program. The Secondary School Principal noted that the cultural presentations helped learners connect with the founder of New Hope Academy and discover the richness of their own cultural identities—especially important for younger students who may not be familiar with their heritage.

The Chairperson of New Hope Academy was deeply moved by the event and extended heartfelt thanks to the school management for organizing such a meaningful celebration of Father Moon’s legacy.
