Fourteen new Ambassadors for Peace, from different provinces and areas of activity, were appointed by UPF-Argentina on April 17, 2024, at the monthly meeting held in the Golden Hall of the Legislature of the city of Buenos Aires, with more than 180 participants.
Those recognized – from the solidarity, artistic, educational, journalistic, social and spiritual fields – were Norma Cano Ballester, José Chaves, María Leandra García Pérez, Fernando Zunino, Silvia Hojenberg, Cecilia Labanca, Miguel Lanzillotte, Rosendo Martínez, Mariela Montes, Oscar Muñoz, María Cristina Nemesio, Juan Carlos Pallarols, Enrique Torrendell and Federico Vassallo.
Dr. Sung Jong Seo, president of UPF South Cone, presented the diploma, accompanied by Mr. Miguel Werner, president of UPF Argentina, who spoke about “UPF and Principles of Peace,” and Prof. Julio Nardini, Ambassadors for Peace in Argentina, who at the end encouraged the new Ambassadors for Peace in their task and mission. Both together with their respective wives, Alba Luz Tangarife and Rosa Holgado, who helped in the delivery of the “Leadership and Team” Manual for Cycle 2024 and the UPF pin, were the most emotional moment of the day for the new Ambassadors, nominated by their colleagues: Andrea Fernández Bevans, Angélica García, Ailén Marquesano, Julio Nardini, Luba Opeka, Christian Oreb, Marisa Pasarin, Irma Sosa Rosales and Miguel Werner.
Welcoming remarks were given by Martín César, director general of Citizen Services of the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, and opening remarks were given by the masters of ceremony: Ambassadors for Peace Luba Opeka, PR UPF-Argentina, and Christian Oreb, advisor to UPF-Argentina.
An introductory video of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) was shown at the beginning and the Municipal Vocational Choir of Florencio Varela, a town in the province of Buenos Aires, directed by Nicolás Argento, sang at the end.
