On November 3rd, 2023, we organized an interfaith prayer breakfast in Lima, Peru, at the national office of IAPD (International Association for Peace and Development). Religious leaders from around the nation responded such as a delegation of the Orthodox Apostolic Catholic Church whose representatives from various nations: USA, France, Morocco, Chile, and Ecuador, were visiting together with their International leader His Holiness Nicolas 1, Orthodox Catholic Patriarch of the Nations.
Dr. Trevor Jones, president of UPF Peru, Jaime Fernandez Tupac UPF Secretary-General, Dr. Pastor Orestes Sanchez Luis, former Congressman, and IAPD Peru Secretary General, embraced the guests and led the event.
During the meeting, the Declaration of the UPF International on the Response and Call to Action on Israel and Gaza was shared with all those present.
Each religious leader then offered prayers and spoke about the need for unity of all religions in these difficult times. His Holiness Nicolas 1 was appointed as an Ambassador for Peace and pledged his support for IAPD.
