Our monthly meeting for all Ambassadors for Peace was held on August 9, 2023, at Casa de Galicia, a Spanish center in the city of Buenos Aires. During the event, 18 new Ambassadors for Peace were appointed. Participants shared their emotional testimonies of life and examples of community commitment in the most diverse areas of action from the provinces of Misiones, Chaco, Jujuy, Catamarca, and Buenos Aries. During the event, the city of Luján de Cuyo, in the province of Mendoza, was announced as the venue for the Argentina Peace Road 2023, sponsoring by the renowned television journalists María Areces and Julio Bazán.

The new ambassadors for peace received their diploma of appointment, a UPF pin, together with the Manual “Leadership and Team” Cycle 2023 UPF Argentina. All of them are involved in valuable works in their profession and respective areas of social and educational service, ranging from the prevention of drug addiction and the application of playful techniques for comprehensive health to the care of children with cancer, the help of older adults, and people with sensory disabilities.

At the event, the opening remark was offered by the Ambassador for Peace Benito Blanco, a reference for the Spanish community in Argentina. The welcoming remark to the new Ambassadors for Peace was given by Julio Nardini, the referent of the Peace Council of UPF Argentina, who with his wife Rosa María Holgado presented the diplomas together with the president of UPF Argentina, Miguel Werner, and his wife Alba Luz Tangarife.

In closing, Luba Opeka, Public Relations of UPF Argentina, announced the renowned journalists and TV hosts María Areces and Julio Bazán as brand-new sponsors of Peace Road 2023 with the theme “Argentina chooses Peace”. Miguel Werner, president of UPF Argentina, presented a short video, proposing a natural and beautiful venue in Luján de Cuyo, in the province of Mendoza, for this year’s Peace Road event.

The meeting was moderated by the Ambassadors for Peace María Laura Arnejo, general director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Cultural Studies (CIDEC) Argentina; and Emanuel Sayavedra, General Secretary of UPF Argentina. The singer and showman Roberto Danelli oversaw the entertainment during the event.
