With the participation of 40 members of the political committee of the Christian Socialist Party, including the president of the party, Dr. Soraya Aquino, a Divine Principle and Blessing seminar entitled: “Leadership and Good Governance” was held on July 1st and 2nd, 2023, at Hotel Gran Jimenoa, in Jarabaco. For this seminar, 16 staff helped us greatly.
The seminar started at 10:30 AM at the main conference room of the Gran Jimenoa Hotel. The opening remarks was given by the national leader of the Dominican Republic, Mr. Bernardo Cruz. Then there was a propitiatory prayer by a pastor, member of the political committee. After that Rev. Leonidas Belliard, regional director of subregion 5, gave the welcoming remarks. Then we had the first session of conference lead by new UPF president for Central America and the Caribbean, Dr. Ricardo De Sena. Dr. De Sena ignited and inspired the hearts of the participants with his lecture, highlighting the mission of UPF founders Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon.
Later the Lic. Cesar Regalado, the secretary general of the UPF in the Dominican Republic, gave a lecture on the principles of establishing an ideal society, based on the content of the first chapter of the divine principle. Then Mr. Bernardo Cruz, gave a lecture on the origin of the problems of human society, which was based on the content of chapter 2 of the Divine Principle, the Human Fall. The next session lead by Mr. Cesar Regalado, gave a lecture entitled: The Principles to restore an ideal society, which was based on the Principles of the Restoration, the third part of the Divine Principle.
Dr. De Sena, director of the UPF in Central America and the Caribbean, gave a lecture on the International Politics and Good Government, where he explained the ideology of True Parents for the establishment of the kingdom of Heaven, in which he quoted several thoughts of True Father and True Mother.
The Q & A section, which lasted approximately 45 minutes, was very interesting, specially because among participants there were 5 pastors from different denominations of Christianity and several theology graduates, 4 university professors, a judge, and several lawyers.
The seminar ended with a blessing ceremony, in which 7 couples participated. The couple went through all the steps of the blessing, including the indemnity stick. They were so excited that they shed tears of joy and thanked UPF for such a wonderful blessing.
Dr. Soraya Aquino gave the closing remarks expressing gratitude to UPF for this great seminar which undoubtedly enriched the knowledge of the participants and pledged together with UPF to continue bringing education to her party members. She said: After this first seminar, which we are going to hold many, we are going to educate the central committee of our Party and we are going to continue to multiplying the blessing of Father and Mother Moon. She exhorted the members who received the blessing to honor the commitment they had made before God and True Parents to maintain fidelity, not to use violence and to maintain unity as husband and wife and to be the multipliers of this blessing. She also said that those who came without their partner this time, should come with their partner in the next seminar to receive this great blessing.
