The Pacific Christian Leadership Conference (PCLC) held its 13th online fellowship on the theme “Encountering God as a Loving Parent” last June 27, 2023. The event gathered 474 overall participants coming from 24 nations across the Asia Pacific.
Rev. Masaichi Hori, now the Regional President of the entire FFWPU Asia Pacific Region and Chair of the PCLC Executive Committee, gave inspiring welcoming remarks.
The messages of the two main speakers were very powerful!
Rev. K.B. Rokaya, President of the National Council of Churches of Nepal, was the first speaker. He mentioned that Christianity is not a religion but a personal relationship with God; and knowing God and encountering Him as a loving parent is what makes life meaningful, purposeful, joyful, and beautiful.
Dr. Robert S. Kittel, Co-Chair of the PCLC Executive Committee, delivered the second presentation. At the onset, he clearly mentioned that the concept of God as our heavenly parent is the very ideal that Father and Mother Moon have always been advocating in their lifetime. He gave an ontological discussion on how God is as a parent and presented proofs that God has feminine attributes as well as seen on the creation being created in pairs (Rom 1:20), in the biblical imagery of a woman used to portray God’s love as well as on the original logos as mentioned in the bible.
Following the very moving messages, new Pastors from different churches offered their sincere and touching reflections and strong prayers for the people and the world. All the participants had a lovely experience not just learning together in fellowship but enjoying as well the beautiful performances of the different church choirs as one family.
Until the end, the atmosphere was very powerful which made all the participants refreshed, encouraged, and charged to go back to the greatest work of Kingdom building!
