On Friday, June 16, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. in the Sessions Hall of the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of the Republic of Paraguay, the ILC International Leadership Conference was held , with the theme: Peace of the Chaco and Historical Empathy and Appointment of new Ambassadors for Peace. Among the participants we had three National Deputies, the mayor of Quiindy and about 80 participants among which 40 active Ambassadors for Peace, local leaders stand out and other special guests.
The program featured the musical opening of the National Police Chamber Orchestra singing the Paraguayan National Anthem and Commemoration Songs. The invocation was made by Father Jorge Mendoza Ruiz Paraguayan National Apostolic Catholic Church.
The Welcome Remarks were delivered by Rev. Evaristo Fernández Sandoval, President of UPF Paraguay. Then we share the Video about the World Summit of Leaders 2023 and the Celebration of the 80th Birthday of the co-founder of UPF Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. May 2-7 in South Korea.
Then we had the testimony of Representatives of Paraguay at the World Summit of Leaders. Pastor Estanislao Obregón Founder of the Torre de David Church who composed a song dedicated to the Mother of Peace.
The signing of the peace treaty between Paraguay and Bolivia in 1935 marks the day of reconciliation between two sister nations that clashed over the war. The Conference “La Paz del Chaco and Historical Empathy” was moderated by Rosi Dueck de Giuliano. International Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Women’s Federation for World Peace.
The first speaker, the Ambassador for peace, Dr. Víctor Oxley, spoke on the theme “Guerra del Chaco: 2da. battle of nanawa and ingavi, peace conference of Mendoza, peace protocol and peace and friendship treaty of Buenos Aires”. then the second speaker the Ambassador for peace Prof. Lic. Ramón Antonio Vargas Chamorro. “Signing of the armistice for peace in the war for the Chaco, antecedents and anecdotes” and to close this section the Director of education of the UPF Paraguay, Prof. Mg Gustavo Giuliano presented the conference “historical empathy”, giving a vision of the Analysis of history with empathy and altruism.
Next, the delivery of special recognition was made by the Federation for Universal Peace to descendants of Heroes del Chaco
And the delivery of Special Recognition to 3 ambassadors for Peace was also made, from the Federation of Women for World Peace to the Honorable Deputy Esmérita Sánchez de Da Silva and the Honorable Deputy Del Pilar Eva Medina de Paredes as well as Dr. . Susana Barua Coordinator of the Ñapuake Program of the Office of the First Lady.
The representative of the Human Rights Commission, Deputy Sánchez, at the time of receiving the award, was grateful to the World Peace Federation for the recognition received.
“For me it is a great honor to receive this recognition; Now more than ever, both adult men and women, we have to understand that our young people and children need us, from where we are, starting with our homes. We must continue to work in a multidisciplinary team, observing everything that surrounds us and doing good, ”she meant.
For her part, the parliamentarian Del Pilar Medina, was grateful for the recognition, and recalled that for 10 years she has been part of this organization that aims at Universal Peace.
“I take the Federation as a family; I feel comfortable, happy and I can produce and thus also help for the benefit of our country; it’s too big a commitment, it’s not just a title,” she said.
Lastly, the appointments of 10 new Ambassadors for Peace were delivered, including Eng. Roberto Meza Cubilla. Dr. in Electrical Engineering and Freddy Franco Alfaro National Deputy
In addition to performing an Artistic presentation, a Paraguayan dance, with the 80-year-old Ambassador for Peace Olga Fernández.
