On Saturday, April 15, 2023 we have celebrated the 31st anniversary of the federation of women for world peace in the Dominican Republic which took place at our Headquarters in Capital Santo Domingo. We had 50 women leaders from different areas of Dominican society participated at the event.

Our participants included:           

  • Mayor of the Town of Juan Adrian Mr. Eduardo Cruz.
  • Mrs. Amada Manzueta, Vice Minister for Women in the Dominican Republic.
  • Clara Venedicto, Former rector of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD)
  • Francisco Anthonio Peralta, Former mayor of Piedra Blanca.
  • Mr. Leonidas Belliard, Caribbean FFWPU Director .
  • Mr. Bernardo Cruz, National Leader of Dominican Republic.
  • Ms. Miho Okazaki, in charge for public relations of the WFWP.
  • Mrs. Diana Contreras, President of the WFWP.
  • Ms. Yumiko Vice-president of the WFWP in the Dominican Republic.
  • Mrs. Belgica Ramirez, professor at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).
  • Mr. Rafael Reyes, Professor of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).
  • Mr. Eduardo Cruz Rosario, Mayor of Juan Adrián.
  • Mrs. Mercedes Hernández, Vice Mayor of Juan Adrián.
  • Mrs. Margarita Cornielle, Educator and Physician.
  • Mr. Francisco Suero, Representative of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs.

Our theme was “To recall how the women’s federation began in the Dominican Republic and to thank all those who have been part of the process for their support and efforts”.  That is why during the event we also held the awarding ceremony for some women leaders for their great contribution and sacrifices for the development of the women’s federation in the country.

Dr. Margarita Cornielle, former rector of a prestigious university in the country, gave her reflection after reading the autobiography of True Mother, expressing that True Mother is undoubtedly the mother of peace and that all women should join her to create a world of peace.

Mrs. Miho Okazaki director of the women’s federation in the Caribbean region made a summary of the main activities developed by the WFWF since its foundation highlighting its great contributions to the education in values in the Dominican Republic and the development of women’s leadership in this country.

The president, Professor Bélgica Ramires, and the vice-president, Mrs. Yumiko Yamaguchi, were in charge of preparation and the awarding ceremony at this event.
