On February 6th, 2023, at 4:17 am, Turkiye experienced an unexpected horrible natural disaster 7.8 mg earthquake. The epicenter is in Kahramanmaras the southeast of Turkiye and the Northern Part of Syria. Millions of citizens are affected and hundreds of thousands of houses are collapsed as of now more than 45,000 people are killed much life is still under the rubble. Turkiye Government, AFAD, and other organizations immediately mobilize to rescue and relocate people from the affected area to the safe zone.
From the different cities, local governments and citizens immediately started to collect necessary materials such as warm cloth, food, and tent. Because of the distraction, many roads are damaged, and hard to reach the city center to villages. That is why many relief materials are put in the city center’s logistics center. Because of snow and cold weather people can’t reach the center to collect the items. After a few days, the situation is improving, and people started receiving help from AFAD and other organizations.

We also immediately plan to move for support in the affected area we decided to go to Hatay Antakya based on the local authority’s suggestion. Finally, on the 7th day of the earthquake, our team reach the field with relief materials such as Blankets, Generators, Food, and clothing (inner clothes for children, women, and men). Because of the earthquake, the entire city was damaged and there is no space to live, so many people left the city. We carry our relief materials to each neighborhood in their tent shelter. That is why impossible to gather many people same place. One week from early morning until the next day morning at 2 am our volunteers work very hard to deliver relief materials. People stay the whole night under the open sky for more than a week.
I am very grateful for all our main supporters from the EUME region family and Heavenly Parents Holy Community and collaboration with UPF/WFWP/FFWPU/YSP Turkiye. We distributed 743 Blankets, 5 generators, and 2000 clothes, Tents, and food. Local peoples are very grateful for you and your generous support.
In the second stage, We find out that in one school in the village living more than 150 families and more than 500 children. we are planning to renovate it and will provide the necessary facility for children to go back to school and we will support training for women to have a sustainable income and support for their families because of the earthquake many people lost their jobs.
