Excerpts from Father’s speech at the commemorative service for the tenth Chil Pal Jeol, the Declaration of the Realm of the Cosmic Sabbath for the Parents of Heaven and Earth, on July 31, 2006 at Cheongpyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center
What is today? [It is Chil Pal Jeol.[1]] Chil Pal Jeol! That’s a term that only we know the meaning of. Chil Pal Jeol; its content is rather complicated, isn’t it? It is more complicated and incomprehensible than any problem in the world; but I’m sure you know what we are commemorating on Chil Pal Jeol.
What is it that God is trying to fulfill after Chil Pal Jeol? You need to know that there was a time in Eden, when God created Adam and Eve, untainted by the Fall, and placed His hopes in them. He idealized what was yet unseen of the future, and He caressed them and smelled the fragrance that came from them, as if they were flowers or fruits. He took delight in them.
What providential term do we use for that time? It was similar to what is in the booklet of the Peace Messages, which contains all there is to know. It was a time when God was dreaming of an ideal family, the ideal family with God at its center, not only during the day, but even after the passage of years (which to God are like a single day), God could not stop thinking of the ideal family even in His dreams! That family had such significance; yet God’s ideal, the family was all lost, and it was as if God Himself had been evicted. And this world, which should have become the brilliant kingdom of heaven and the nation of bright hopes, instead became one of darkness in the place of light, a wretched and piteous world completely dominated by pitch-blackness. Then there was no way for God to acquaint us with the world of the hereafter….
Furthermore, in the ideal family under God, there should have been parents, children and siblings that could come together in the background as one family, but even traces of the various aspects of that family were lost. And the reference points on the basis of which someone could explain that the ideal family of God was in such and such a form, were all gone! Such a world is the miserable, fallen world, the world of hell dominated by Satan. You need to know that there are no other words to express this conclusion.
You all have this booklet with the Peace Messages, don’t you? Within this booklet is hidden the actual knowledge by which the ideal family of God can be found if you live in accordance with it and are in the position of a liberated owner in accordance with it. You can’t see the information in plain words, but in this small book are recorded the words that point to it.
Then what was God planning to do with the ideal family He desired to see? Passing through history, the fallen world of today has stained this planet with the blood of death through war, and those deaths have given form to the essence of sadness. That is something that, if the living God exists, will have stained His heart black.
If that were not enough, if the world had arrows they would have shot at Him, and, in keeping with this day and age, if they had atomic bombs, they would have attacked Him with those. They would be telling Him that it is a world in which He can be rejected, a world in which He has lost all He had, while mounting attack after attack against Him in complaint over His having come back to this world. However, God has nevertheless sought the recovery of the world through such a history, and such have been the days of sadness He has had to live through.
Even while living through such experiences, what He has thought about, even in His dreams, is the content of this booklet. That is the kingdom of the peaceful, ideal world. Say it aloud! [The kingdom of the peaceful, ideal world!] You have it, don’t you? It is the kingdom of the peaceful, ideal world. [It is the kingdom of the peaceful, ideal world!] If it were the kingdom of peace, it might be referring to just one nation, but what we are talking about is the ideal world of peace. If we were to speak of it in our own terms, we would add the words “heaven and earth” to it.
At this point, we will unveil to the public the subject matter of restoration, but what is behind the heart of restoration is known only to God. It is something that only He, the one who can become king in the kingdom of the peaceful, ideal world, can know. And now, by living on the foundation of the commencement of the kingdom of the ideal world, we will form the tribe, people, and nation. We will create the family of the peaceful, ideal world and progress up to the tribe, people, nation, and world, thus bringing the kingdom into existence! It is not something that can be created in a day. It will take a long time.
Therefore, the providence of restoration takes such a long time. If God exists, He is an absolutely able king who could do more than just plan and accomplish the providence of restoration in a day; so why couldn’t He just do that? He could not do so because there were things that inevitably prevented Him from doing so. What were those things? They were things that neither the ancestors nor the descendants should know about. Yet because of them, even though God has authority as the absolute, unique and unchanging God, God’s ideal family was broken and the ideal world of peace destroyed.
The more people who understand that very fact, the less God will be a focus of attendance and praise; the more they know about it, the broader it becomes the basis upon which those people will reject God. This is because they will come to wonder increasingly why God, the almighty Lord, who created the great universe, is in such a sorry state. The emotional grounds on which we can hold Him in awe and which link us to Him through a deep connection of heart, would be enveloped in personal doubts about Him, ultimately causing those grounds to disappear. Because that would be the result, knowing too much is a problem, but not knowing at all is also a problem. If you fail to fulfill something even though you know everything about it, there is less possibility for you to receive forgiveness than if you don’t know anything about it. Therefore, the responsibilities of God and of the Savior are tremendous owing to the fact that they must embrace this secret that the rest of us cannot know about. I have told you this because this fact is a precondition to understanding Chil Pal Jeol. Do you understand? [Yes.]
Seven. Repeat after me: Seven [Seven!] Seven represents the central point at the intersection of the six directions (one and two being upward and downward, three and four being left and right, and five and six being in front and behind). What is the center? It is the point that can be the central nucleus. No matter how vast a place is, its central nucleus is the smallest of such points. Everything branches out from that nucleus, which is no bigger than a particle of dust.
Therefore, if there were a great sphere, its central focal point would be the origin of its bones, which would be connected not only to what is visible but also to the invisible world behind. That center would be connected even to the universe. If by any chance that center were separated from it for eons, it would be excluded from the universe and become a nonexistent entity. Even after thousands or billions of years, it should be connected through that nucleus, because if it were ever to fall out of oneness with the universe the value of its existence would diminish and it would disappear completely.
So, is the nucleus necessary or not? [It is necessary.] What is the nucleus? Is it money? It could be, to a certain extent in limited circumstances. In saving a family struggling from poverty, the nucleus of their salvation could be money, for a brief period, but it could not be the eternal nucleus. It cannot be the nucleus of the universe.
Next, comes knowledge! In the case of knowledge, even if the Korean people came to have complete knowledge, they still couldn’t possess understanding of the truth that all of heaven and earth and the universe regard as the single nucleus, the genuine truth, because there is a hidden nucleus that cannot be explained. In light of this, without acknowledging the fact that there must be that one nucleus in the universe, we cannot commemorate Chil Pal (7.8) Jeol. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven! This is why the number seven is the number of happiness! Is that clear? [Yes.] …
Don’t become a widow, and don’t divorce. If there is a woman who wants to become a young widow, should she be chastised, or carefully educated? Which is better? [She should be carefully educated.] She must be taught, even it has to be forcefully. Who should teach her? If she has a mother and father, they should do it. If she has older brothers or younger siblings, they should do it. If she has uncles, they should do it. In short, her entire clan should unite in teaching her, by force if necessary. How wretched would she be if she ended up lonely and all alone!…
“I am number one! A-men,” could also be said, “I am the number one man!” A person who can endure a long wait may just see the missing central nucleus come to be. Someone could bring it and plant it, couldn’t he? That is, only if you are ready to wait longer than God is. Someone may come to you and say, “Hey, you! You’ve been waiting so long; do you desire the nucleus that much?” and just bring it and plant it for you, so the one who waits has a greater possibility to get closer to the nucleus and become its next-door neighbor than the one who does not wait. There isn’t such a possibility, is there? [There is!] There is not, you scoundrels! Whoa! [There is!] When I say it like that, you can answer, “Yes there is, you miscreant teacher!” [Laughter] That’s okay.
They were heavily in debt and on the verge of going to prison, and they came to me and said, “Teacher, since you are the father, please pay back our debts.” You’re curious to know how much I paid back, aren’t you? These women are in a more miserable state. And since I’m trying to live for others more sincerely, adore them and serve them more sincerely than those women, if I do something for one and not for another, for instance if I help a woman from Jeolla Province and refuse to help a woman from Hamgyeong Province, I will be criticized….
Raise your hands if you have the Messages of Peace booklet. I’m giving you special instructions today. The more you read this booklet, the more you will realize its true value. If you read it a thousand times, it will have even more than a thousand times the value of reading it once. If you read it ten thousand times, the value of doing so will increase more than ten thousand times. On the other hand, if you don’t even read it once, it will be worthless. Even worse, it will remain worthless forever.
A person with ten siblings who understands this should buy ten booklets for each of them, even if he had to fast in order to buy them. Hwang Sun-jo, how much is this booklet? [\800.] \800? [Yes.] Wow! The money for one lunch could almost buy ten booklets. Anyone who is unwilling to give the \ 5,000 from his lunch money to his brothers and sisters is a stingy person who deserves to be criticized.
What I’ve just said is judgment. To avoid that, you should buy this booklet for your friends, your brothers and sisters, your mother, father, their brothers and sisters, and even your great uncles and aunts, and so on. The question is who will buy the most copies of this booklet for people they know.
If, among those who have bought the booklet for their relatives, one person has given a hundred people this booklet who in turn have all read it a record number of times, the total number of times could be over 100 million. From now on, the question will be who has read this booklet the most number of times, and who has loved this booklet the most. In other words, the issue at hand is the ideal family of God that He is trying to establish, and His kingdom of the peaceful, ideal world.
Therefore, the person who has repeatedly set conditions until those conditions overflowed, will become a leader of the ideal family of God. The person who comes next in line in setting conditions on behalf of the kingdom of the peaceful world will become the granddaughter-in-law, the relative, or the son-in-law that can receive the blessings of the world’s king of kings. This is what is waiting for you right here. So I’m instructing you to achieve this and make preparations in light of it.
The responsibilities deriving from the significance of Chil Pal Jeol are conclusively expressed in this booklet. Therefore God’s ideal family and the kingdom of the peaceful world are without a doubt the homeland of peace that you need, or, if you are in need of a home country, they will serve as the home country of the ideal family. Without becoming the owners of the two places, you can say goodbye to the positions of the citizens or owners of the kingdom of heaven forevermore. Do you understand, or not? [We understand!]
Then if you are thinking, “Oh, we should be number one in the ideal family of God. Our clan should be number one. Our nation should be number one,” then you should read the booklet that much more. Why is what is in this booklet important? How many books of Father’s speeches have been published in this year? [(Korean church president Hwang Sun-jo:) Twenty-four volumes.] How many books are there now? [In total, there are 458 volumes.] I was under the impression that the total number of books published topped six hundred. [Including other books, the total is 650 volumes.] From those six hundred and fifty volumes, the most important, essential content has been closely concentrated into this booklet. So, if you have any questions, this booklet can serve as a reference book. It’s the concentrated form of what I’ve explained in more than six hundred other published books combined, as well as in other speeches that could more than push the total number of books to more than a thousand….
Would it do if a student does not have a reference book for the subject he’s studying? Even in this morning’s hoondokhwae, the dates on which the speech excerpts were originally given is mentioned. If you traced them back to page something-or-other in volume number something-or-other, you would see that what was left out on that page is recorded in this book. Because all such material is included in this book, if you savor what it says and can come to know its taste, with this book as reference you will be able to savor and taste the contents of God’s secret storeroom in Heaven, and analyze that flavor….
If the thumb and the middle finger were brought together like this, what would it symbolize? It would symbolize God and the thirty-eighth parallel becoming one. This represents the leader, which is God, isn’t it? It is the unifying of the mother and father, who have dual characteristics….
You are all Japanese; I see only a few Koreans. Are all the people standing up Japanese? [Yes.] The representative of the Japanese people, come out front. His son should come out too.
Then should Otsuka—father and son—prosper forever, live under a peaceful reign, or have everything go well for them? [These are three mottoes written as sets of four Chinese characters] Which of the three would be best? Aren’t you all Japanese? Aren’t you all from Japan? Even Japan must listen to my commands in the kingdom of heaven. You must never forget this.
Now, Otsuka is Japanese. Should he prosper forever, live under a peaceful reign, by which I mean the kingship of God—in other words, should the kingship of God thrive forever? Which should it be of the three choices! Hyo-yul! [Father calls Rev. Peter Kim, using his Korean given name.] [Yes.] In the motto we wrote that day, what were the last words? Was it “to have everything go well,” to “live under a peaceful reign,” or “to prosper forever”? [It was “to have everything go well with us.”] Yes. After “to prosperity eternally” and “to live during a peaceful reign” comes “to have everything go well with us.”
So, of the three, eternal prosperity, a peaceful reign or perfect well-being, which should we choose to say at this time? Most of those here are Japanese, so I’m asking which would be the best to wish for the Japanese people, and the representative father and son standing right in front of them. Eternal prosperity refers to the kingship, doesn’t it? Peaceful reign also talks about the peaceful reign of the king. So what comes next? It is to have everything go well! By this, a person could triumph wherever he went. So, which of the three would be befitting the occasion? [To have everything go well.]…
What marks the beginning of the vertical world is God’s ideal family and the kingdom of the peaceful, ideal world. There has yet to be a family that has settled down centering on the peace ideal. Therefore, since it is being achieved for the first time, God’s ideal family and the kingdom of the peaceful, ideal world is beginning. Without forming an ideal family, the family of peace cannot come about, so the two are naturally connected. God’s ideal family and the kingdom of the peaceful, ideal world! With the passage of time, as families increasingly come together and fill the nation and go beyond to fill heaven and earth, the world will become the kingdom of the peaceful, ideal world! You see this, don’t you? [Yes.]
Bearing this in mind, the 6.5 billion people of the world are trying to live in such a way. Of these people, only those whose standard is higher than average will show themselves, for those below that line will be as if under water, not visible. Only when they are above that horizontal line can they be seen. In this way, they will be the center, and our family will make a stand at this central point, where all can come together and thus become the husband and wife, the family, that lives in attendance to God, the focal point of the nucleus I have mentioned.
That would be none other than the True Parents, the Savior, the owner who will save the world, the Messiah, coming to bring the religious realm, which is in conflict, into unity. After Jesus came the first time to the Jewish nation, the Lord, when he comes the second time, is to fulfill the purpose of Israel. That is what the True Parents have to accomplish. What we need is simply the True Parents—but they also have all these other titles attached to them.
The Savior, the Messiah, the Second Coming and the True Parents—we don’t need all four. Only the True Parents, the liberated True Parents unrelated to the Fall, who can play these four roles at the same time. And the place God has longed for from the outset, since before the Fall, and that can stand as the standard of value by which the 6.5 billion people today can enter the kingdom of heaven as if the Fall had not taken place is the kingdom of the peaceful world! Is that clear? That kingdom is the nucleus of all nuclei. It is the horizontal as well as the vertical nucleus.
Based on this central line, the line from front to back can be drawn. Those who’ve gone to high school know what I’m talking about, don’t they? I’m sure you have taken design lessons. If you draw lines like this, and form a sphere, within that sphere would be the eras of the individual, family, tribe, race, nation, world and the entity that is heaven and earth combined. From the perspective, based on the eight stages, which connects them vertically and horizontally, centered on the one nucleus, which is at the center, are the Cosmic Parents, the Parents of Heaven and Earth, and the parents of heaven, earth and humankind.
Without becoming parents of heaven, earth and humankind, you cannot have your offspring. So grooms and brides should come together in unity to become parents of heaven, earth and humankind! Because we have completely uprooted and thrown away the fallen lineage of Satan on the fundamental level, the parents of heaven, earth and humankind should become the nucleus, and then the world can never slip out of this principled realm.
When eras on the eight levels of individual, family, tribe, society, people, nation, world and cosmos are established, these eight eras will drive away all the impure things infesting the world, and spherical motion can continue forevermore, for which reason the ideal, immortal family can continue forever! It can never be broken. You need to be aware of this.
Do you couples that have received the blessing think your families will go to the kingdom of heaven just because you have received the blessing? That’s not the case. It has to happen together with the rest of the world!
To become the nucleus of the world, to become the central point from which you can supply the motivating force in all directions, you must be directly connected to God. If not, you cannot be linked to all forms of creation in the world, down to the very last. Then you cannot be in the position of the representative nucleus, which in turn would render impossible the existence of people who can live in the palace of the kingdom of heaven as members of the royal family. Thus, even if you could become citizens, you could never become part of the royal family.
You need to become members of the royal family and develop as citizens. Originally, it was members of the royal family of the kingdom of heaven who are meant to spread out horizontally to become its citizens. They would do this from the position of inheritance wherein they can receive good fortune in the position of the second son in the place of the elder son. Do you understand?
Therefore, people cannot exist apart from the kingship that is the nucleus. Without the nucleus, there is no value to their existence. Because it is absolute, it becomes the absolute grounds for our ideal in our absolute nation. Then when we go to the spirit world, God, the King, will live with us. It will be different from the satanic world, the fallen world, where exploitation and domination have existed. The families that continue to exist in conformity with the model—in the position of the one, unchanging nucleus of the kingdom of God—can bring about the unity of heaven and earth, and will naturally live in the unified kingdom of heaven on earth. Thus, this world will become one great nation and the ideal, unified heaven and earth that can be assimilated into the one bloodline. Amen! [Amen!] [Applause]
Since on this Chil Pal Jeol, I, and even the mother of the horizontal standard, have come forward, what is to be done next is the preparation of the vertical standard. This should be completed within twelve years from the beginning of Cheon Il Guk. What that means is that the vertical standard, which has remained a source of grief for thousands of generations, must be completed in this one generation by January 13, 2013.
The way things have turned out after thousands of generations must be resolved in one lifetime, my own. Since what exists now is the result of one person’s mistake, it should be resolved through the efforts of one person. By resolving the situation and emerging triumphant, I can become the Savior, and connect even those who do not believe to the bloodline through the blessing. This bloodline must not be broken.
No matter how much Christianity boasts about how excellent it is, if there is conflict within it, the bloodline will split up. The nation of Israel, Judaism, and the Islamic realm are also fighting with each other, causing the bloodline to split even further. The nations of Israel and Korea are in a similar situation.
In establishing the standard of the Adam-type family, Israel is engaged in a fight between brothers centering on the direct lineage of Abraham, Sarah and Isaac on one side and Hagar and Ishmael on the other. Ishmael was older by thirteen years, but though he was the elder brother, he was chased out. Though Hagar gave birth to the firstborn son before Sarah did, she was driven out with him. That’s where the bloodline first began to split. If the bloodline is not united as one again, all of humankind will perish….
Everyone should listen to my instructions; even the number one man in Korea should listen to me. This is the public opinion of the present, and is even being taught in schools, but the politicians are saying, “We’ve achieved this much after struggling for ten or twenty years, whereas Rev. Moon has traveled around gaining in renown and has been back for only a year. What has he to do with us that we should follow him and consider him to be right?” I say, “Don’t follow me then. You think I have been on this path for ten years? I have been walking this way my whole life, from the time I was very young.”
Centering on the one purpose, I have lived for the sake of the nation and the world. I am the representative leader in living for the sake of others…. Because I am in the position where I can do so wherever I am, be it in Japan or some other nation, I am considered the most problematic and enigmatic figure in the world. Though it seems that I don’t, I know everything, and though it seems I may be unable to do something, I go ahead and do everything.
Though Chil Pal Jeol in itself seems like a dream, in the prayer offered my life story has been told, hasn’t it? Has everything been accomplished, or not? [Everything has been accomplished.] Though the political world has opposed me—as has the religious world—there is nothing they can do now. What I am advocating is the age of kingship. Since I am not advocating the era of democracy but that of kingship, we are now here at the Cheon Jeong Peace Palace centered on kingship.
What is Cheon Jeong Peace Palace? Since the political and religious worlds have come together in harmony without fighting, the two worlds must follow their way here and become one at this place. Otherwise there can never be peace between South and North Korea. Which means there can never be peace in the world.
About seven months ago, I told three people, Yang Chang-shik of the United States, Joo Dong-moon and Kim Hyo-yul, that the Bering Strait project was ours now, and that we should be the ones to accomplish the project. When we made our plans public, the world was amazed and exclaimed, “How did he come up with such an idea? Who is this man that has drawn up such a plan? Wow! In all of history, he is the first person to talk about the concept of the unity of heaven and earth. He is the king discussing the establishment of the family centered on the bloodline. So what is that he is pushing for?”
From that day, we can hold intercultural marriages between people from Russia and the United States. The gates to the palace of peace, the twelve pearl gates, the twelve gates of the palace, will all be opened up to the world. The kingdom of heaven is very simple. If intercultural weddings were held, that is, if everyone from the top-level executives in Russia to the laborers holding demonstrations were married interculturally, would there be any more union strikes? Would there be conflict?…
People believe it is an aspect of fundamental human nature that conflict exists between the mind and body. They don’t know about the Fall. They don’t know that the lineage was altered. In ignorance, they couldn’t care less about it. But now that they have been taught about it, they have been turned completely upside down. In such a way, they can be righted, and this booklet is the secret document that teaches them how. Do you understand?
The era in which this secret code had to be deciphered has passed. Now, all you need to do is read this booklet and practice its contents to become princes and princesses of the liberated kingdom of God. The princes and princesses of the kingdom of God can now receive the blessing and bring the seed to fruition by giving birth to sons and daughters—something they could not do until now—and thus become the heirs to the ownership of the fruit. Because I know all this, I went to Switzerland this time, mustered the entire religious world, and proclaimed the establishment of the kingship of the religious world.
So the two worlds should accept all this. In Japan, suppose the emperor, the prime minister and the Diet had united as one and attended Rev. Moon—Koreans and Japanese being enemies—suppose Koreans and Japanese had been married cross‑culturally, that their married sons and daughters had given birth to children, and that the grandchildren had intercultural marriages….
Even now, there are Japanese parents who say they will never again meet their children because their children joined the Unification Church despite the parents’ opposition and then married Koreans and are currently living in Korea, but do you think they will keep to that?
Nowadays, those same parents say that they want to live with their children, and are willing to come and live with them in Korea. That shows how much the world has changed. So, since from experience we know how everything will turn out, there is no reason to worry.
