Father’s sermon at the commemorative service of the fourth anniversary of the Coronation of God’s Kingship, held at the Cheong Pyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center on January 4, 2004.
There are many revolutions and reforms and the like going on in the world, but our Unification Church members, as well as God Himself, emphasize revolution on a fundamental level. A revolution means more than a basic change or reform.
The first target for such a revolution is our bodies. Whatever we possess in the world of material in which we have been living up until now, every possession that is connected to our physical bodies, and the entire creation, has been the bait that Satan has used to trap us. Now the problem that is facing us is how we can institute a revolution that can bring us into harmony and connect us to our original minds. Until now we have not known to bring this about.
So what revolution are we talking about? Repeat after me: We must pass beyond the era of revolution through indemnity!
Our bodies are the main problems. Centering on our physical bodies, the external world, the entire universe, is in the sphere of lamentation. That is why in chapter eight of the book of Romans it talks of “groaning in travail.”
Through offering sacrifices from the creation, we were able to move to the position of adopted sons, and now it is up to us to completely rid this suffering world of Satan, so that no trace remains. That is restoration through indemnity. You must know that in order to complete restoration through indemnity, we need to go over the hill of revolution through indemnity.
So what is first? [The era of revolution through indemnity.] When we’ve accomplished that, Satan will no longer be able to reside in our bodies and oppose our consciences. The next revolution we need is one of conscience. Through a revolution of conscience, the lineage will be transformed; the path of love, life and lineage will be transformed.
That is because after the first revolution has been carried out, we will be in the positions of Adam and Eve before the Fall. Adam and Eve’s consciences did not play their proper roles. Because of the Fall, the conscience, which should have guided the body, has instead been controlled by it. Before you can cross over to the next stage, that of revolution of heart, you must go beyond revolution of conscience, a revolution that absorbs everything connected with the satanic world. The second point, therefore, is to go beyond the time of the revolution of conscience.
The next step is to be one with the realm of heart of the blessing, by purifying your lineages from the individual level to that of the family, tribe, ethnic group, nation, world and cosmos. You cannot enter the kingdom of heaven if you are not one with the realm of the heart of the blessing.
Even once you’ve gone through revolution of conscience so your body and mind are united, at least three generations from your families–which have lost the four great realms of heart–must be established on earth. Otherwise, the realm of heart in relation to God, your parents, your husband or wife, your children, your kin, your nation, and heaven and earth will be lost. You must understand that only when you have gone through a revolution of heart can the era of God’s fatherland and the peace kingdom finally emerge.
You cannot take part in bringing about God’s fatherland if you persist in the errant ways of the world. You must go through revolution through indemnity. Unless you overturn everything in the world that your body has liked, you cannot free your conscience or revolutionize it. Unless you go through conditions of indemnity, you cannot separate yourself from Satan or the material world.
The major attributes of God, who is centered on true love, are absolute love, unique love, unchanging love and eternal love. You must center on the standards that are based on God’s attributes. The members of the Unification Church are already aware of the fact that God’s four major attributes are the mainstream of the spiritual world and the realm of heart in their everyday lives, and since they already know this, they will not have problems bringing about revolution.
If your finger is infected, you must boldly cut off that finger before the infection spreads to the rest of your body. You do not need anyone else for this task; you can cut it off yourself. The world of desire centered on your physical bodies has connected itself to heaven and earth, even to the spirit world. It has completely surrounded God’s throne, so God has remained imprisoned until now. All this was brought about because we have not carried out the revolution through indemnity. If you want to go through revolution through indemnity, you must get rid of what blocks the one-way street to your absolute conscience.
This is an Old Testament Age task. Therefore, as man was defiled, we must shed blood to purify ourselves just as the Israelites went through circumcision to purify themselves. After circumcising yourself, you must be baptized, and afterwards consecrate a holy marriage. That is only logical.
The anniversary of God’s coronation ceremony is on January 13, but we are celebrating it today. The most important part of the Coronation Ceremony for the Kingship of God is for you to participate in the celebration and to become representatives of God. For the individuals, families, nations and the world to come under the kingship of God they must walk the path of indemnity.
How much blood has been shed in paying indemnity? Material things, the tangible things that we can see, are our enemies. They work as the devices of the enemy. You must cut yourselves off entirely from these things. You must throw away all your property, even your nation, into the Pacific Ocean. In the same way that God may cast someone aside on judgment day, you must throw everything you have into the Pacific Ocean as food for the fish.
At the time of the great flood, Noah’s family did not achieve the realm of liberation through absolute heart, absolute conscience and absolute indemnity. As a result, the family of Noah brought about the second fall: the sons and daughters did not become one with their parents. The scars of the Fall were passed down to Noah’s descendants.
Now that we have become owners who can do away with all the problems caused in the past, we can stand in the third era1, in the position of the three lords of creation–the Cosmic Parent, the Parents of Heaven and Earth, and the Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind. From such a position, we need to restore Satan [Lucifer], to liberate him from hell, into which he has been cast, and to reinstate him in his original position. You must understand that we need revolution through indemnity for all this to happen. Everything must be cleared up and accounts settled. As a means of bringing this about, I have instituted a movement for the revival and purification of the blessed families, and on that basis declared the unification of everything.
To explain all these complicated and intertwined details in simpler words, revolution through indemnity is the most important thing. You must be ready to cut off your finger, to cut off every infected part of your body if need be, in order to prevent the infection from spreading to the other parts of the body. You must ruthlessly control yourself.
That’s why I tell you to fast, to serve others, making effort till your blood vessels burst. I am not telling you vaguely what to do. These are not abstract ideas. This is real, connected, in each moment, to our real life. What that means is that if we do not effect a revolution through indemnity, every moment we breathe we will be driven away from going through that revolution. Because of the connection to the material world! That is why in the Unification Church we ask you to make the total living offering and forget your possessions….
What is the foundation for the Messiah? It was for Israel, for the Jewish people, to make the foundation for revolution through indemnity, and transcending the eras of the individual, family, tribe and nation, to welcome the Messiah as their parent, completely change their lineage and connect themselves to God’s true love, true life and true lineage. However, they made a very serious mistake.
They should have gone through the era of revolution of conscience and gone on to the era of revolution of heart, but they could not do so. What is the meaning of the phrase “chosen people”? What is needed is a revolution of the body. Unless they [the chosen people] become the citizens, form the nation, and have the sovereignty that can resolve to cast the wealth of the nation of Israel, the nation itself, and everything in it into a fire–do away with everything–they cannot go over the hill of revolution through indemnity. Without a revolution through indemnity there can’t be an era of liberation through the revolution of conscience. You must understand this.
First, before you offer any more prayers, you should achieve a revolution through indemnity. Who has accomplished that? The Cosmic Parent, the Parents of Heaven and Earth and the Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind have given their own flesh and blood to accomplish this on your behalf. After establishing the basis for liberation, they even went through a revolution of conscience.
Your body and mind are fighting, aren’t they? Well, are they or not? Unless the mind, the conscience, holds absolute authority over the body and can exercise enough power over the body such that you could cut off your flesh and skin and feed it to eagles, and grind your bones down to the marrow to be used as manure, you cannot achieve a revolution of conscience.
If your conscience does not go through revolution, you cannot enter the realm of the revolution of heart. Although you know about God, your mind and body are not united, so you cannot serve Him as your parent. Every one of your cells must be able to recognize your active and vibrating self. You should be united with God to the extent that when He feels sadness you feel sadness instantly; when He feels happiness, you feel it instantly. It should be like this every day of your lives.
Only then can you draw up the royal laws of the realm of the royal family, centered on revolution of heart, which can move the internal nation of God’s kingdom. At present, the laws of ordinary nations are becoming the laws of the heavenly nation. It is the responsibility of you blessed members to correct this situation on behalf of God, True Parents and the Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind. Though you are fallen individuals, you will not have any problems correcting the situation because you have learned how the history of liberation works through conditions of indemnity….
Only when God’s heart and your heart are entirely united can the heirs to the eternal world of God come into being; that is how you can inherit this world. At present, there is no one who can inherit God’s world. How can you inherit it, if your body and mind are in constant conflict? That’s the way it is. Revolution of heart!
You can become citizens of the kingdom of heaven only when you become representative sons and daughters of God, in the position of the Cosmic Parent, the Parents of Heaven and Earth and the Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind, because only then can God come to you personally and discuss things with you. If there are many people in the royal family, if there are many brothers and sisters in the family, once the central sibling inherits the kingship, the others can form a protective fence around him on the level of the family, ethnic group and nation. This protective barrier will protect the sovereignty for tens of thousands of years, so that no one can attack it. Since God, and even the cosmos, will protect the sovereignty in addition to that protective barrier, nothing could cause any kind of harm to the sovereignty. I hope you will renew your resolve to become members of the royal family and to become the fence that protects the sovereignty….
What did I say comes first? [Revolution through indemnity!] Revolution through indemnity means denying the body. You must put yourself in the fire. There cannot be personal possessions. You should know that if you have any private possessions, you cannot achieve revolution by indemnity. How can you have personal things when you know very well that you are the descendants of the fallen archangel? It is the same as buying stolen goods. When you buy stolen goods, you must return them to their rightful owner, and restore the situation to its original state. The main purpose of having a body is to provide room for the conscience to reside and grow, so anything the body desires that opposes the conscience, should be cast away.
Revolution through indemnity should be connected to the beginning of revolution of conscience. All the nutrients taken in by your body should help the conscience to grow. You must transform, in a revolutionary way, anything that does not do so, especially those things that, rather than help the conscience grow, suppress and fight it. With this confidence in the revolution of conscience, you, as a representative of the God of heart who represents the cosmos, and with perfected Adam and Eve and their family at the center, must go beyond the realm of revolution of heart, which is rooted in God’s true love, true life and true bloodline.
In this realm, the settlement of noon will be ever-present; night will not exist. In this realm, where the sun shines constantly over your head and so casts no shadow, you will become one in heart with God, you will be united with His body, lineage, life and love, and have the same value as the realm of oneness in heart. You will take the same position as and live in the same realm as God. Thus, you will be enthroned as heirs to the cosmos. This realm will be one of absolute liberation and freedom. Amen!
From now on, every step you take will be part of the process of restoration through indemnity, the revolution through indemnity. Every step you take will take you closer to the conscience, which until now has not been able to control the body. You must experience God’s love. You must be in a position to give directions to others based on the heart of God. In order to be in that position, you must cleanse yourself over and over and over again, until there is not a trace left of the stain of Satan’s love. You will automatically be on the path to that position.
When you reach the standard in which your conscience can give orders to your body and it obeys them voluntarily, after your conscience has gone through revolution, you will connect automatically to the tradition of love. Then your families will be able to spread out horizontally throughout the heavens and the earth, in the era of the settlement of families of the Cosmic Parent of love, the loving Parents of Heaven and Earth, and the loving Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind. Your families will become factories creating the realm of the royal family of the heavenly nation. Everything will turn out as God had desired on the foundation of three revolutions and on the basis of the restoration of independence to God’s fatherland. Amen! You must understand this clearly.
Claiming that your bodies belong to you is like rejecting revolution through indemnity, revolution of conscience, and revolution of heart. These revolutions will surely happen in the not too distant future. The Fall was brought about because Satan centered on the material, on physical love. You must therefore cleanse yourselves and always be on the same path as God, so that He can use your bodies any time He wants, as their owner. Today’s celebration is significant in that through it we can become the owners who are unashamed in front of the creation.
What comes first? [Revolution through indemnity!] What comes next? [Revolution of conscience!] And what is third? [Revolution of heart!] You must go through these revolutions; you must be able to claim your conscience and your body as your own. You must be able to tell your body that since your conscience has been revolutionized, your body should be revolutionized as well.
Next, tell your body, “Since I’ve passed through the realm of the conscience in the world of heart, you should too! Everything exists as my object, to help me in serving Heaven. As a created being, you exist to nurture the element of love bestowed to you by the Creator. That is your original purpose, isn’t it?” It is my hope and wish that you, as the owners of your own bodies, will continue to live thus, that you will lead righteous lives and that you will not fall and stray from your path. I also hope that you will record what I’ve told you today, safely keep it, and pass it on to your descendants to come.
Everyone who pledges to do so, raise your right hands in solemn oath! Now raise your left hands and make the oath! Lift your faces and pledge to do it! [We pledge!]
From now on, the celebration of God’s coronation will be held on January 4. Because what I have proclaimed today is the last declaration and is in accordance with the declaration of God’s fatherland and the peace kingdom, we will hold a celebration on this day from next year.
Today is a very important day. It is a day that has won over True God’s Day, the Day of Victory of Love, and the realm of death. January 3 is Jesus Christ’s birthday, and January 4 will be the day of the birth of the restoration of the independence of God’s fatherland. You must remember that today is the day on which God’s kingship and the kingship of the parents were begun on the foundation of the beginning of God’s fatherland. This celebration is a great and historic event that will bring about a great transition in the world. Now that we are almost at the conclusion of this celebration, you must resolve to connect this celebration to your everyday lives and to become exemplary people whose life courses and those of the people around you are shining.
You must carry out such a celebration as this one, through which you can meet God face to face before you meet True Parents. Things have changed now, which is why before having breakfast or some good thing, you must first offer it before God and the Parents of Heaven and Earth. That is a condition that you have to set.
It was part of the old tradition to throw part of one’s food away from the table to pacify Satan. You also keep such a tradition: realizing you are going to continue with the revolutionary task that lies before you, you must blow on your food three times before you eat.
If you don’t have holy salt, you should blow three times as a ritual of purification. You must know that if you do not carry out this task as seriously as you would any other religious rite, you will lose the privilege of being a citizen of the heavenly nation.
You must understand that unless you leave behind you a path of more devotion than Christians or Muslims or Hindus, you cannot become the heirs to the sovereignty of the heavenly nation. I hope you will keep this in mind, and become the rightful heirs.
