Father’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, we have newly ushered in the third year of the Cheon Il Guk. Last year, we concluded a busy schedule under the motto “Mansei for the Completed Settlement of the Cheon Il Guk of Freedom, Peace and Happiness, which is the Ideal of the Parents of Heaven and Earth” under your aegis.
Today, in welcoming the new year, we have announced this year’s motto: “Let our family perfect a true family of filial children, patriots, saints and divine sons and daughters in Cheon Il Guk, through true love.” We shall begin this new year, in which all families on earth and in heaven are to take root by perfecting themselves, centering on the True Parent, True Teacher, True Owner and True King, and go on to inherit the True Parents’ tradition of uniting heaven and earth.
You, Father, the source of all blessings, sent us, the True Parents, to the earth, and had us indemnify numerous peaks of resentment, and now heaven and earth can publicly stand on the same horizontal line, following the completion of the Rallies for the Harmony and Unity of Heaven and Earth, and the Holy Burning Ceremony of Peace, Unity and Liberation of the Parents of Heaven and Earth, and as we herald the Age of Equalization of the the Peace and Unity of Cheon Il Guk, heaven and earth can publicly be on the same level standard centering upon the ideal of oneness, from the individual all the way up to the cosmos, advancing toward one purpose.
Adam and Eve were created by the objective standard that was absolutely necessary to perfect the ideal of reciprocity and the ideal of love desired by Heaven, as the incarnation of harmony which is able to catalyze mind-body unity centering upon individual perfection based on one heart, one body and one mindset. Without the ideal partner of love, centering upon the unifying standard of harmony of the one heart, one body and one mindset of the parents of the incorporeal heavenly kingdom and the corporeal substantial parents, the purpose of the mainstream ideal of God’s attributes, namely absolute love, unique love, unchanging love and eternal love, cannot be perfected.
Therefore, You utterly and unreservedly invested Yourself over and over again entirely from the smallest to the greatest, all the while forgetting the fact of having done so, in order to fulfill that lofty and cherished hope of true love, namely Your absolute wish, absolute hope, and absolute desire for absolute faith from Your object of love, whom You esteem as precious above all else, in order to leave behind for posterity the sublime and vast realm of the ideal of love.
In the midst of this, the ideal of creation consisted of Your hope for the third generation, the sons and daughters issuing out of the conjugal bond of Adam and Eve within the substantial realm of sung sang and hyung sang, after You fashioned Eve in Adam’s image following his creation, into which You poured everything, so as to realize the visible substantiation of Yourself, the invisible substantial God–namely Adam and Eve as the partners of love representing the objective realm.
Yet the fall of the first ancestors of the human race left no room for Your Will to be realized, and they ended up being bound in blood ties to Satan in opposition to You, centered upon false parents, false love, false life and false lineage, leaving You in solitary isolation without a foothold in this world through countless aeons, until You eventually realize Your Will through re-creation and emerge as the long and eagerly awaited Heavenly Parent of whose existence humankind has hitherto been ignorant.
You revealed the secrets of the spiritual and physical worlds through us, the True Parents, who uncovered the origin of Satan and his identity as the enemy of God’s love, the adulterer, thereby blocking his path and defeating him, in order to restore the original standard for which You had invested Yourself totally, that we might create the oneness of mind and body, the oneness of mindset, and the oneness of harmony, You having made the foundation on behalf of Adam for the substantial parents on earth, by originally creating Adam and Eve as Your partners, centering on sung sang and hyung sang, and minus and plus, and wanting everything perfected in four directions, aiming to have the family based upon the father-son relationship, the ideal destination of the substantial world, which however was nowhere to be found upon the earth prior to the advent of the True Parents, who revealed everything and thwarted Satan from the individual level, through the familial, tribal, racial, national, global, all the way up to the cosmic level, thus freeing and restoring the realm of power that had once opposed Heaven, consequently succeeding in bringing forth the new historic epoch.
With the establishment of God’s Kingship, together with the Realm of Life of the Completed Settlement of the Parents of Heaven and Earth, and the Holy Burning Ceremony of the Peace, Unity and Liberation of the Parents of Heaven and Earth, we have set the standard in the Age of the Equalization of the Peace and Unity of Cheon Il Guk. Please accept the foundations made by the ancestors born from those hamlets, and by the loyal subjects, virtuous women, filial children, saints and divine sons and daughters born from the local villages of this land as well.
Centering on the founders of great religions, we have called out those who dedicated themselves to heaven with their loyalty, filial piety and chastity in the spirit world. We had all of our good ancestors resurrected on earth to restore the realm of failures of the Cain side through indemnity so that we could all stand on the foundation of the restored realm of the elder son, centering upon the Abel realm. The heavenly kingship is realized in the age of equalization in which we can establish a reign of peace on earth, from every individual level to the level of the entire cosmos, and all unite in the realm of liberation without any satanic interference. We are truly grateful for Your grace allowing us to welcome this world of freedom and unity, Heavenly Father!
Standing on such foundations of true love, our family should realize the family of filial children, the family of loyal subjects, the family of saints, and the family of holy sons and daughters together with the Parents of Heaven and Earth, who are True Parents, True Teachers, and True Masters, in making the new start to establish the true kingship. We are truly grateful today to be able to begin the third year of Cheon Il Guk, in 2003, and to proclaim the motto for the new year. May all nations eternally praise and glorify Your unified victory of having united the spiritual and physical worlds. With Your ever increasing victories and accomplishments, we pray for the realization of Your glory in heaven and Your prosperity on the earth. We are truly grateful that we can pledge before You that we will advance again and again to liberate the heavenly nation of the unified victory on earth and in heaven. Please reign over us as the King of eternal peace, and allow the Kingdom of God on earth and in heaven to be realized.
All blessed families must be loyal subjects who can take responsibility for everything and be the owners who can serve the nobility of kingship. Through the appearance of the original family on earth, You have enabled us to reach the age when we can offer before You the “mansei” of victory of liberation in all of heaven and earth. In all Your comings and goings and abiding, may Your victory be bountiful and Your glory eternal. Be the King reigning peacefully over all kings eternally! We pray with all of our hearts for the tradition of the victorious heavenly kingdom to begin at this hour as we, the True Parents, put our hearts and minds together. We hereby proclaim our motto before heaven and earth. Amen. Amen. Amen!
Father’s Speech
What’s the motto today? “Let our family perfect a true family of filial children, patriots, saints and divine sons and daughters in Cheon Il Guk, through true love!”
This expresses the entirety of God’s ideal of creation–the individual, family, tribe, race and nation, all together, must inherit the tradition of filial children, of patriots, of saints and of holy sons and daughters centering on true love. That is how royal authority [kingship] can be established.
Inheritance can be actualized on the foundation of kingship. One must deny everything belonging to oneself as an individual and one’s own nation. The things you have in this fallen world should have never existed to begin with. They are the fruits of the fallen world, which you must leave forever. God doesn’t want even a bit of shadow in this world, stained by the blood of His enemy. Although countless people in this evil world have been killed–in wars and in other disasters–and have experienced countless ups and downs, God could not intervene.
On the other hand, the original means for humanity to recreate itself still remains. Based on that original standard, from the smallest to the grandest universal level, God has reorganized things, and an age in which He can take control has dawned. You have no idea how hard it has been for God. You should understand that recreation has been tens of times or hundreds of times harder than creation.
As soon as Adam’s family is perfected, God’s work is done. In a perfected family, when the children of the original couple have children, the original couple can be the grandparents as well as king and queen. They become the parents of the heavenly world. The invisible God embraces the realm of substantial parents…. If people perfect themselves on earth and go to the spirit world, they can be the substantial foundation in the spirit world for True Parents establishing a perfect foundation there by becoming one with invisible God. Only then can God and the Parents of Heaven and Earth finally become one and be able to control the physical and spiritual worlds. Before that, God cannot be in control of the two worlds. This is the principle of creation. This is the fundamental principle.
Without following the basic principle, God’s will cannot be fulfilled. That’s a certainty. However, this world is stained by the blood of Satan…. There are many advanced countries and Christian nations in the world, but they were not built by God. There are numerous nations in the world; centering on those nations of the satanic world, Satan has done everything to stop individuals, families, tribes, races and nations from making a new beginning for God’s nation.
Because humanity fell in the realm of dominion based on accomplishments through the Principle, into the realm of Satan’s dominion, Satan can do as he pleases, because this world has not established the realm of oneness with God centering on love by fulfilling our responsibilities and because man deserves to be thrown into the garbage can. Man fell before reaching perfection.
The fact that man did not reach the level of the blessing through fulfilling his portion of responsibility has always been a condition Satan can accuse. Satan has done whatever he wanted to do with mankind.
Only after overcoming the fallen realm, the standard of the satanic world, can God intervene in the affairs of man. Major religions of the world have been the instruments in history to overcome the satanic world throughout the Old Testament, New Testament and Completed Testament Ages. In order to establish major religions, subsidiary religions came about. Hinduism in India, Confucianism in China, and Zoroastrianism in Mesopotamia [in what is now Iraq] were the three foundational religions God created to prepare for Jesus. Jesus should have unified them all.
What the chosen people should have done is to serve Christ as their true parent, true teacher, true master and true king. And they should have fulfilled their responsibility as true filial children, true patriots, true saints, true divine sons or daughters before true parents. That’s how they could have established God’s kingship. When people have the authority of God’s sons and daughters, the kingship of the heavenly nation can be established. Based on that kingship, God can ascend to the throne and the satanic world will disappear.
It was to achieve this standard [the establishment of God’s kingship] that the religious realm emerged. What is the good that the religious world has desired to attain? God lost His hometown and nation. Although people were born in a religious realm, which is guided by God, they were not born in the land or hometown God originally intended them to have. Religious people were born with satanic ties of blood. They have had to fight to make unity between mind and body. Without unity between mind and body, even if people were restored to God through their absolute faith and love, Satan could take them away again because they would still be in his realm.
That’s why the heavenly side has to apply the strategy of being beaten first and then taking things back. No matter how many times one passes through crises that bring one to the point of death, one must never betray God. Only then can God establish the age of the individual, the age of the family, the age of the tribe and the age of the nation. That’s why the Israelites had to go through misery and suffering.
Because of the existence of kingship in the satanic world, the evil satanic sovereignty, anyone from anywhere, among all of humanity, who moved to build the heavenly nation, restore the heavenly kingdom, God’s hometown and nation, would be caught and brutally killed. When people risk their lives and obey God to the end, things can turn around. Isn’t it miserable for God that He has had to work in that way?
Throughout history, numerous religious people have been sacrificed. Billions of people have been sacrificed in order to create original families free from the fall. Do you understand? God must restore His sons and daughters to be completely free from the realm of the fall, free from the stain of satanic blood and free from any shadow of fallen nature. To realize this purpose, God sent the Messiah four thousand years after the fall. The Messiah is the king of the religious world.
The Messiah should have connected the Old Testament Age of the first Israelites with the New Testament Age of the people of Israel…. The nation of Israel was in the position of Cain and Judaism was in the position of Abel. Cain and Abel should have created unity and served the Messiah, their parent. Why is that so? In the very first family, Adam’s family, Cain killed Abel. It was a horrifyingly miserable situation. A murder was committed in the very first family of God.
Thinking of the history that God had to re-create, He would surely have cried out in anguish, but He did not want to do anything in front of Satan that was unworthy of Himself. He bore and forbore as, through the blood of the countless sacrifices made by those who wanted to surrender to God’s side, He brought the providence forward.
Focusing mainly on the chosen people of Israel, God fought to realize individual perfection, family perfection, tribal perfection and national perfection. Finally, the nation of Israel, with the chosen people at its center, was established. The nation and faith–Israel and Judaism–should have made unity in the position of Cain and Abel. If Jesus had come on that unified foundation, he could have completed his mission in three and a half years, or within seven years. He could have given the blessing.
Because of improper marriage, the blood lineage became stained. False parents were born. Through true love, True Parents must clear up all the whole mess the false parents created. This is impossible without true love. True love is directly connected to God-centered love. Without true love, our families cannot bring forth devoted children, patriots, saints, divine sons or daughters, kings or queens in Cheon Il Guk. Do you understand?
There is no true love in the satanic world; there is only false love. Because of false parents, false love, false life, a false lineage and false families came about. God has watched families, tribes, races, nations and a world of sorrow; He had to find one individual who could reverse all the pain and sorrow in the world. That’s why He had to send the Messiah.
The Messiah could come only after the blood lineage had been purified. Isn’t that true? You know the history of Tamar. After the blood lineage had been purified, Jesus came and said, “I’m the only begotten son of God.” The begotten son of God signifies the most revolutionary, historic change. Centering on God, the begotten son was born, therefore, the relationship between God and humanity can be restored to a relationship of parent and children connected by blood lineage, centering on love. After having been children, people grow to the point at which they enter into conjugal relationships and eventually become parents. These are all positions that were lost because of the fall. Individuals must unite mind and body to begin with in order to find the [standard of] parents lost because of Satan. That is how things can start being put to right.
Whether you joined the Unification Church or not, and no matter how faithfully you believe in its teachings, you cannot enter the heavenly kingdom without creating mind—body unity. Because the mind and body are fighting, a shadow is cast. When you received the registration blessing, I used the phrase, “the high noon settlement.” At high noon, one doesn’t cast any shadow. You, too, should not have any shadow. Without making unity between your mind and body, when the sun shines, you’ll have a shadow on the left side if your mind is in a higher position. If your body is higher than your conscience, you’ll have a shadow as well. That’s what I meant by your having to settle in the “high noon” position. Up, middle and down, all should be in a perfect vertical line. Up, middle and down all should be vertical.
What comprises the “up”? God, the first generation, Adam, the second generation and their children–the third generation–were unable to create a vertical line. God has never had His own grandchildren. Humanity hasn’t known how sorrowful God has felt at not having His own grandchildren. Since the fall, humanity hasn’t known that God is our ancestor, the teacher of all teachers, the master of all masters, the king of all kings and that He has fallen into the most miserable position. There was no way anyone could have known that. Finally, True Parents came to this earth and uncovered the root of sin and the true nature of the blood lineage. When we clearly know the truth, re-creation is possible.
Today’s science-based civilization was established following a certain formula. Only on the basis of that formula, can any civilization be built. That’s how the world develops. If the formula is wrong, everything breaks down. No matter how hard people invest into building their civilization, if there is a flaw, problems arise with everything.
As I told you yesterday, it takes a year for the earth to go around the sun. People estimate the age of the earth to be 4.5 or 4.7 billion years. If there were one second of error every year, what kind of difference would it make for 4.5 billion years? It would mean a difference of about 143 years. One second of error would cause a 143-year difference. Such a difference could have destroyed the universe. Everything might have disappeared. If you thought in that way, you could figure out how the universe is made precisely according to the principles of an eternal and unchanging formula. What motivated God to take great pains to create this world is true love. The order of true love is more thorough than that of anything else.
God’s essential attributes are that He is absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal. This is His inner nature. There are many kinds of inner natures. There are inner natures for the eyes, the nose, limbs and so on. The essence of those inner natures is love. Absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal love. That is, true love.
True love should be absolute. There cannot be two loves. Love has to be unique–just one. It cannot be changeable either; it should be eternal. God began to exist centering on love. When God created heaven and earth, what did He center on to begin with? It was true love. God began to exist because of true love.
You must certainly maintain the dream of true love. Don’t you have dreams? Little children do not know, but as you grow up, you have hopes and dreams about the opposite sex. The object of your dreams is not material–possessions, money, knowledge or power; it is love. You dream about the object of your love. Men want to be one with women, and vice versa. The unity between men and women indicates the oneness of heaven and earth, of left and right, of east and west and of front and back.
You should understand that the word “up” already presupposes the idea of “down.” And “down” assumes the existence of “up.” Do you understand? “Up” and “down” came about because of one another. The word “men” acknowledges the existence of women. Men were created to be absolutely and eternally one with women. Men and women wish to have divine nature, like God–absolute love, unique love, unchanging love, and eternal love.
That is why a person can only reach the height of his potential when he seeks the ideal of love. Money only brings about fighting and violence. People fight when they have money. They fight to find out who has more money. They try to dominate with power and also with knowledge. When we look at this in relation to famous scholars, where ideological material is concerned, they fight about whether a scholar had read the material in the original language or a translated version….
When a person has money, he lacks the impetus to live for the sake of others. Politics, also, doesn’t carry the notion of living for others. All these avenues lead to ruin in the end. Knowledge, too, is not imbued with a sense that we need to live for others.
But true love cannot be lost, even if the whole cosmos is lost, because true love absolutely needs an object. For that reason, and because God is the origin of true love, the hope based on true love increases everyday. We must first be centered on true love and high ideals. After that is accomplished, we must give from the smallest things to the largest, and forget, and give and forget, and carry on in this pattern.
If one has something rated at a value of 100 and invests all of that 100, that’s the end of it. However, if one has the attitude that desires to invest limitlessly again and again, there is always a way to develop more. That way is the way of true love! Repeat after me, “True love!” [True love!]
The family of true love is the model of God’s ideal of creation. What should the family of true love do? Members of the family of true love should become devoted children. Look. The three-object purpose and the four-position foundation are iron rules for us to keep. There are eight positions: grandmother, grandfather, mother, father, husband, wife, son and daughter. If Adam’s three sons had their own spouses, Adam’s family would have completed the number eight. Noah’s family completed the number eight. The number eight should be completed and we should go beyond those eight stages.
Without completing the four-position foundation and three generations–that is, without having grandchildren–the number eight cannot be completed. If one asks whether or not Adam and Eve were kicked out of the garden of Eden after they fell or before they fell and after having their own children, the answer is obvious. They were kicked out after they fell and before having their own children.
Then who wedded Adam and Eve? The sexual organs are called sung-ki. Here, sung did not originally mean “sex” or “gender” but “holiness.”1 That’s what they were supposed to be–the holy organs of men and women. So, no matter how strongly the world opposes me, it doesn’t bother me a bit. The three-generational realm means God is above, Adam and Eve are in the middle, in the position of True Parents, and the third generation is below. So I say to them, hit me if you can. I know that those who hit me will only destroy themselves in the end. There is nothing to break this vertical three-generational realm. If the entire universe were to attack this, the entire universe would be destroyed.
What is the mystery my life presents to the world? It is the fact that I have risen in the world despite all the persecution I’ve been under. People of the world wanted me dead or destroyed and did all sorts of things. They persecuted me in various ways, but I have succeeded in the satanic world.
When I went through the individual persecution stage, all of humanity opposed and persecuted me as an individual. Then, I went through the family persecution stage. The world has done everything they could to my family. Tribes, races, nations, the communist, democratic and religious worlds all opposed me. Several decades ago, I said that Jesus, Confucius, Buddha and Mohammed were all my disciples. That remark drew so much more persecution. Did those who opposed me really know whether or not they were really my disciples? How could they know the truth? I said it because I knew the truth. No matter what, I said it because I knew it was true, but they opposed me out of their own ignorance. Ignorance can never win over the truth. It will lose in the end. Do you understand? You must know that clearly.
It’s been thirty-three years since I first arrived in the U.S. This is the thirty-fourth year. Jesus should have taken control over the nation of Israel at the age of thirty-four and sent ambassadors to Rome. That’s the kind of role our Ambassadors for Peace must fulfill. Ambassadors for Peace, please raise your hands.
Ambassadors for Peace are like tribal chiefs among the people of [ancient] Israel. Jesus would have been the chief priest. Ambassadors for Peace are also in the position of archangels. Ambassadors for Peace are supposed to connect up and down to help the first, second and third generations to stand vertically. They are in the position of archangels who have not yet perfected a true family of devoted, filial children, patriots, saints and divine sons and daughters. This year, new Ambassadors for Peace will be appointed, not only in Korea but in 180 nations. No matter how small a nation is, we’ll send Ambassadors for Peace to it.
Ambassadors for Peace should win the hearts of people in good positions in their hometown. They should win them over to their way of thinking and convince them on the basis of our philosophy. They have to make Satan retreat in every respect–on the ideological side, the religious side, and in the area of accomplishments in life itself. The Ambassadors for Peace must know that we are entering a forward-looking, revolutionary era of world history.
From now on, the number of these ambassadors will increase. Before, they were representative of their nations, but now we are in the midst of appointing millions of Ambassadors for Peace from every walk of life. These peace ambassadors must serve the public purpose of reconciliation. Reconciliation! Satan started the war between the mind and the body, and it is still going on! When a husband and a wife fight, it is nothing but hell.
According to the Unification Church, what is the first thing that has to be accomplished? It is mind—body unity. When God created heaven and earth, He did it with absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience. When I speak, what I believe becomes reality. If it does not appear, I invest more effort to make it come true. Even the biggest things come true when I command them to. Because I invest according to the ideals I desire, things are fulfilled.
That is why I say true love engenders the highest hopes. These hopes are not wasted ones. God is a being of character. What are the main aspects of the God of character? God has to be a being of character, able to settle down in a family where the husband, wife and the children have become one, centering on absolute love, unique love, unchanging love and eternal love.
That is why absolute faith seeks true love. When something is begun centering on true love, we can center on the absolute ideal. When we consider the mineral kingdom, we find positive ions and negative ions, in the plant kingdom we find stamen and the pistil, in the animal kingdom, males and the females, in human beings, men and women, and heaven and earth in the cosmos. Everything is relational.
That is why, for a being to exist, the first thing to do is to live for the sake of the partner. God is the king of kings and He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent; He is the absolute owner of all things, but He cannot be happy alone.
If a person can be happy living a solitary life, he is crazy. He is a crazy man, living in a world of his own. Why do I say he is crazy? He is crazy because he started as the first generation and will end as the first generation; he will not leave any heirs. If a man lives a solitary life, although he may achieve many things and may have many possessions, when he dies all is lost. Satan takes everything. If he has descendants, he can leave everything to them. If he has obtained all the money and power he desires, but has lived his life alone, he will lose everything when he dies and will later weep and feel regret. If you cannot fulfill your responsibility, this will be your situation.
Blessed families must be owners of Cheon Il Guk through true love. Therefore, you must become devoted filial children. You can be owners of Cheon Il Guk, after becoming devoted sons and daughters. Then what? You should be in a true family of patriots, saints and divine sons and daughters. That’s how you can be the owners of a true family.
I’m not just saying this blindly. I’m not just trying to catch some wind from the air, so to speak. I’m talking about heavenly principle that no one can avoid. With absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience, no matter how difficult and painful a situation you’re put into is, you must be able to be grateful to God hundreds or thousands of times over and march onto the world of infinity.
Centering on the religious realm, you must feel the sorrow and pain God must have felt for the ones He loved and trusted that had to be sacrificed. Imagine the sorrow God must have felt when He couldn’t do anything while people He loved were being sacrificed. You should weep deeply. You should be soaked in your own tears, blood and sweat; it is only then that Satan can never invade you–because of the tears, blood and sweat you shed for God and other people. Satan is an individualist and selfish. Individualism cannot enter the place of tears and blood shed for others.
Unless you create unity between mind and body, you should never think about entering the heavenly kingdom. If you’ve decided to create unity based on your knowledge of the Principle, you must wait in the other world. There will be paradise and hell of the blessed families.
There is no race of people who have shed more blood than the Korean people. Koreans, women especially, had to undergo tremendous bloody hardships. Why? Korea has been located between powerful nations and attacked 934 times. The satanic side has done all sorts of evil things by forcibly entering this nation.
There is nothing I haven’t experienced as a man in this world. What haven’t I experienced? I have experienced the jaws of death, the difficulties of both men and of women, hell and heavenly joy in the spirit world. I have reorganized both heaven and hell and established the tradition of True Parents. I have applied the strategy of being beaten first and then taking back. That’s the way of the Unification Church.
I’m telling you this because we are entering the third year of Cheon Il Guk today. Through true love, our families… What is Cheon Il Guk? It is the house and nation where the True Parents, True Teacher, True Master and True King reside.
The people of Israel killed their true parent, Jesus, who couldn’t actually become a true parent because he was unable to marry and have children. That is why they had to wander around on foreign soil for two thousand years. They became a most miserable people, who were kicked here and there on various fields of war. Because the time came for Korea to gain independence in 1948, centering on the United States, the second Israel, both the nations of Israel and Korea had to be built again.
Even if the United States abandons the whole world, it must not abandon Korea. If she does, she will be destroyed. That is why I could not abandon America, although she has no idea of the value of what I have done for her. I have been persecuted and ridiculed in various ways for thirty-three years there. Government administrations have done all sorts of things to me. Christianity has done its worst. Nevertheless, you’ll see who will win through in the end.
After establishing God’s kingship, can we liberate God? The founders of the four great religions, religious people from those four great religions and cultures, and other people who had contributed to the world spoke out as representatives, claiming that “Rev. Moon is the Savior, Messiah, the Lord of the Second Advent, and True Parent!”
I’m over eighty-three. Eighty-four by the Korean method of reckoning age. Including today, I am eighty-three years and one day old. Three times eight is twenty-four. There are twenty-four divisions in a 12-month period.2 You don’t know what I’m going to do for True Mother’s birthday, do you? This birthday of ours will make a clear line. We will make lines vertically, horizontally and from front to back so that we can build a spherical shape. The spirit world will pester anyone who deviates from the lines once they are clearly made. Have you created true families through true love? There should be one heart and one body. Mind and body should be one. There should next be one mindset, one way of thinking. Even if you reach the level of one heart, one body and one mindset, you cannot do things as you please. Your eyes and nose must not act recklessly without thinking of the whole. Do you understand?
Let our family perfect a true family of filial children, patriots, saints and divine sons and daughters in Cheon Il Guk, through true love. Originally, it was to say that “our family will” perfect them, not “Let our family” perfect them. I made it “Let” to express our desire. It is our responsibility. There is a grand universe for us to work on. One family wouldn’t be enough to do all the work. That’s why I had to give us some space by making it “Let.”
Do you want to be devoted sons? Do you want to be devoted daughters? You must become a husband or wife of filial piety. You must understand this. If you’re a real couple of filial piety, you would live with your parents and parents-in-law in one household. Daughters-in-law should be able to manage that. How could they do that? Eve fell, didn’t she?
I’ve clearly taught you the heavenly principle. Those who follow my teachings precisely will enter the house of God, Yahweh, and be able to find their own hometown and nation and freely exercise their independent rights in the spiritual and physical worlds.
On the other hand, if you don’t follow the principle I’ve taught you, you will end up in paradise or even in hell. Then your children will ask you, “You were also members of the Unification Church. How could you end up here? What have you, mother and father, done while living on earth?” What would you do in that case? You never believe in what I tell you and you live as you please, don’t you?
It’s a big problem. This isn’t something you should let go in one ear and out the other one. Let our family perfect a true family of filial children, patriots, saints and divine sons and daughters in Cheon Il Guk, through true love. This is not just a passing phrase. This is a manifesto. If you don’t reach the standard by even a few percentage points, you’ll not achieve a passing grade.
The age of salvation is over. Why are you still begging for things in prayer? What does our pledge say? “As the owner of Cheon Il Guk, our family pledges to seek our original homeland and establish the original ideal of creation, the Kingdom of God on Earth and in Heaven, by centering on true love.” If that is all you achieve, you can go to the heavenly kingdom. What is the second part of the pledge? “As the owner of Cheon Il Guk, our family pledges to represent and become central to Heaven and Earth by attending God and True Parents; we will perfect the dutiful way of filial piety in our family, patriotism in our nation, saints in the world, and divine sons and daughters in Heaven and Earth, by centering on true love.” That’s how you can inherit kingship. If you just ask God to give you the blessing, you become thieves. The blessing cannot come to you. Do you think things will work out that way for you? The blessing will turn out to be your curse. If your sons and daughters don’t have perfect faith, your sons and daughters will fight and even kill each other over the blessing you’ve received. That’s how Christian churches are these days. Ministers and elders fight each other.
If I exercise just for seven minutes a day, I’m okay for a whole twenty-four hours even if I push myself through a very stressful schedule. Those who exercise for several hours a day cannot beat me. Am I not strong even now? I have trained myself in the midst of prison camps where people died, and where I was tortured. Because my body is being trained by heavenly command, I can control myself with my mind.
Without the will to risk your lives thousands or tens of thousands of times, you cannot reach the place where God is. I hit the mark straight like a cannon ball or bullet. That’s how to make others give in. Anyone here who thinks that I am your enemy, raise your hand. There is no one. Then will all of you receive the blessing?
To be a family of filial piety… All women here must represent heavenly wives, queens, grandmothers, mothers and pious women. Only when you establish the four-position foundation, can you enter the heavenly kingdom. A man must take a wife. Once he is married, he must love his wife and have children. A woman must make the entire family naturally surrender to her even if her father-in-law, mother-in-law, husband or brother-in-law opposes her. That’s the course of a woman. Unification Church women would welcome a spouse from any race of people. Those who once opposed our sisters now think highly of them….
You should serve your grandfather and father as you would God or the king of the world. You should also be able to serve your own sons and daughters as you would God, as they are the successors of True Parents. You should build a family like that. There shouldn’t be any place for individualism in your family. Individualism is doomed.
People are supposed to learn things in their families. In a family, there are babies, a wife, a mother and a grandmother, aren’t there? There are a grandfather, a father, a husband, sons and daughters. That’s the model. There are numerous families in a nation; however, they are all the same. The three-generation formula–grandparents, parents and children–is fundamental.
What are tribes? A tribe is like a family, only thousands of times bigger. Do you understand? If you ignore your tribe, there is no heavenly kingdom for you. There will be no way for you. Those families who misuse relatives for their own families’ sakes cannot last long. Once the head of such a family dies, its entire fortune will be gone very soon, too. Do you understand?
Being a devoted, filial child is the beginning point of being a patriot. There are thousands of families in a tribe. If you think your entire tribe should center on your own family, you are a thief.
Being a patriot is the beginning point of being a saint. Saints go beyond the level of a nation. That’s why religious leaders and saints are in command. They are the owners of religion. Satan cannot control them. Do you understand? That’s why they can go to paradise. That’s the sure formula. You should know all that in order to be confident when you go to the spirit world. Whatever could you do if you didn’t know any of this?
St. Augustine, St. Paul, Jesus, Confucius, Buddha, Mohammed and Socrates all have claimed that “Rev. Moon is the Savior, Messiah, the Lord of the Second Advent, and the True Parent.” I didn’t ask them to do that. I don’t want any of their acknowledgements. If I am the real True Parent, why would I want their acknowledgement to begin with?
You’ll see once you reach the other world. No words are necessary. You’ll figure things out right away. Do you think the four founders of great religions will come and greet me? Jesus asked me, “True Father, please save the people of Israel.” And that’s why I told you to take down the crosses. That’s the only way Christianity can live.
The cross was just an instrument to kill criminals. You should ask Jesus. If Jesus could have created his own family, there would have been no popes in Rome, no St. Peter’s Basilica. Jesus’ sons and daughters could have created God’s nation before the 6th century. Since that didn’t happen, the Israelites were kicked out of their own land in the 7th century and Islam emerged. That’s what really happened in history.
Why was that? History waited for the number 6. It was miserable. Because I knew history, I felt so sorry for Jesus and wanted to ease his pain. I also knew how sorrowful Mary, his mother, was and wanted to ease her pain, too. Because Mary abandoned Jesus, you’ll see what will happen to Catholicism and Protestantism. There will be no next generation for them. They will be like graves.
That’s why I said that they must abandon their crosses. That’s what’s going to happen….I’ll watch whether or not churches in America follow this new direction.
The tradition of filial piety can lead to the tradition of patriots. From the patriotic tradition the religious realm emerges, established by the leaders of faiths–such as Christianity, Confucianism, Buddhism and Islam. They are the true saints whom Satan cannot dominate, so they are in paradise. How do you know all that? Didn’t it become clear to you when you read the book on the reality of the spirit world? How much ridicule I have endured! People said, “What? The establishment of God’s kingship?!” Who really believed it? Because you don’t know, you cannot act. I have to teach you everything. If you are stuck in the middle realms of the spirit world, don’t call out, “Father, I am here.” Your own children will accuse you. They will say, “So-and-so’s family entered the house of God and realized the heavenly kingdom of liberation with the authority of the inheritors of heaven and earth. They can freely do anything on behalf of God. But what about us? Why didn’t you teach us correctly when you had the chance?” Do you understand what I mean?
Your model is the family of filial piety. You should exemplify a family of filial piety of Cheon Il Guk through true love. You must exemplify a blessed family of filial piety. Then you should exemplify a family of patriots and chaste women. When I talk about a family, I’m talking about a family of three generations together. Have your three generations realized unity? If they haven’t, you’ll fail.
I don’t have so much time left before I go to the spirit world. Don’t you know that the spirit world is waiting for me to come? Once I go there, everything will be revolutionized at once.
God is love. God knows what I am. Strictly following the principle, there is no place for any of you. Therefore, you must repent. That’s the point. On what date did Satan surrender? [March 21, 1999.] That day was the day I went to Japan, which was our country’s enemy. It’s really fascinating if you think about it. Do you understand?
You must become devoted sons and daughters and create married couples of filial piety. You must be the second generation in the place of Adam and Eve who failed, and connect the third generation, your own sons and daughters to God. The third generation!
Why do you need my blessing? You need to have a third generation. The second generation is not as important, no matter how great members of the second generation are individually. Cain and Abel should have been blessed by Adam and Eve. Once a man has a wife and children, he should do everything, wearing himself to the bone, to take care of them.
Now you must return. You must return and become one. Then you must return to the invisible God. This is the Principle. The Principle! It’s the formula. Once you return to God with a family-level foundation, you must build the nation that was lost in the beginning of history. Therefore, you must have your own tribes join in the blessing. Knowing that, how can you so comfortably eat, sleep, play and waste time as you do? You must not live as you used to, according to the habits you’ve developed in the Unification Church. There will be no way for you to go. I won’t be there for you any more.
I recently gave away things I have used as gifts to members. I had gone through all sorts of suffering–sweating and crying–in the clothes I gave away. I want those who received clothes from me to remember that whenever they look at them. Otherwise, the clothes will accuse them. I gave speeches in those clothes; not only did I give speeches but I also made substantial what I’d taught. They are sacred items.
You should perfect the Old Testament Age, perfect the New Testament Age and perfect the Completed Testament Age. Without having substantial accomplishments such as that, you cannot liberate the nation and cannot enter the heavenly kingdom. Do you understand? You must find the nation even if you have to sacrifice your own lives.
Am I a patriot? [Yes!] In my case, the Chinese character means not love, but sadness.3 I am a man who has shed a tremendous volume of tears of sadness to find the nation. I am the embodiment of sadness.
I love Kim Jong-il. I should save him by loving him. That’s why communists, such as Marx, Lenin, Engels and others in the spirit world say that I am the Messiah of the communist world. They are fervently asking people on earth to serve me as the Messiah. Do you understand?
What this also means is that saints in the spirit world are ahead of you. People of conscience and intelligence will take your positions. Who does the Bible say takes the kingdom of heaven? [Men of violence take it!] That’s why you must invest yourselves.
When you go to the spirit world, you should teach the saints and holy people. You blessed couples had children before they did, didn’t you? Because we don’t have a nation, we at least should have the name of a nation. Once the family of the king restores the nation, those who are with them can participate in honored positions. If you live as you please without having any clear concept of what you must do, you’ll be devoured by Satan in some dark corner. I’m warning you.
Do you want to be a family with 100 percent filial piety toward God? Is there anything more to desire once you achieve that? No. That’s it. There is nothing more. For that, you must offer everything you have, from the seventh generation of your ancestors down to your generation. Even if you have to sell your own nation to realize that, you must do so.
I have asked you to make the Total Living Offering, but you’re so reluctant to do even that. Do you know the story of Ananias and his wife Sapphira, who sold a piece of property and cheated Peter by keeping back part of the money for themselves? What happened to them? They fell down and died on the spot. You need to know that a more fearful time is now at hand.
I asked those who had entered Seoul University and other universities [in Korea] to transfer to Sun Moon University. Those who already graduated from other universities should attend university again, but Sun Moon University this time. That’s a secret that I’m telling you.
Knowing that, your family should and will perfect a true family of devoted children, patriots, saints and divine sons and daughters in Cheon Il Guk, through true love! Even though you might fulfill your responsibility, there are the problems of the whole world for me to deal with…. Even if you cannot find the nation, I must somehow offer it to God. You cannot. That’s why I used the world “let” in the motto.
You must find the nation. Will you or not? Your own nations are doomed. North Korea, South Korea, Japan and the U.S. will all be in difficulty, with no way forward. Those nations that have opposed the Unification Church will find themselves in miserable situations. The sun is rising for the Unification Church, but the sun is setting for those nations. They will go down rapidly. You’ll see.
Aren’t I famous for predicting things? Which one of predictions I have made did not come true? Today is the age of e-mail and the Internet. When I said that such a time would come fifty years ago, everybody said that I was crazy. However, the time has come. Those theologians who opposed me then and went to the spirit world couldn’t be forgiven even if they were to beg for forgiveness on their knees. However, you should know that because I liberated even Satan, they can join that group of liberated souls, and, beyond national borders, receive the benefits I am offering.
Therefore, the model of a family leads to a patriot, the model of a patriot leads to a saint, the model of a saint leads to a divine son or daughter and the model of a divine son or daughter leads to kingship. Do you understand? Therefore, in Cheon Il Guk, in which True Parents live, there are true parents, owners, teachers and kings! Do you understand? And also devoted filial children, patriots, saints, divine sons and daughters–and kingship. Inheritance can take place once you have gone through all of these stages. I am teaching you everything clearly. You must complete all of these stages. Don’t think that there are other ways to be blessed by God. Death comes to everyone. If you understand the things I have just mentioned, you are on the way to go to Heaven.
Kwak Chung-hwan! You adopted the written resolution, didn’t you? What is the first point of that resolution? [Know and have faith in the absolute true parents, God and True Parents.] The next? [The absolute true teachers, God and True Parents.] After that one? [The absolute true owners, God and True Parents.] What comes after that? [Act with faith that True Parents are the substantial manifestation of God and are true parents, teachers and owners!] The True Parents must become king and queen! Do you understand? True parents, teachers and owners. Everyone must be an owner, right? But there can only be one king and queen.
I know that I have told the blessed families of the Unification movement to attend the family of True Parents as the royal family. There can be no question about this. Through this, you may receive the inheritance. You have to become a prince of a kingdom in order to receive the royal inheritance. You must become divine sons and daughters to receive inheritance. You will be caught in the spirit world if you do not fulfill this condition.
Things will not happen as you wish them to. Heaven does not follow you. God doesn’t follow Reverend Moon. When Reverend Moon does what God should do, God comes to look at it and says, “Well! You have done what I haven’t been able to do. Well done.” But that’s not all that God says. He tells me to go and climb over another mountain.
God has no mercy towards me. Try praying and asking about it. Satan blocks the way. Satan’s tribe will disappear. Satan will beg forgiveness and return to God’s side. Satan has to do this. I have to make God and Satan reconcile and stop fighting. I work out what God and Satan want and then I tell them to stop fighting. Because I reconciled things early, I was able to return to my hometown and the unification of our fatherland will be possible.
What is the nationality of Japanese people? [Korean.] [People of the Cheon Il Guk nationality.] Korea will cease to be. So will Japan. Cheon Il Guk. It is about two or more people becoming one. Cheon Il Guk is the nation in which two people have become one. The people of the world cannot go against this. They cannot oppose it.
Do you think that God taught me this, or that I found it? [God taught it to you.] [You found it on your own.] What had been lost by false parents must be recovered by true parents.
If you don’t receive the blessing again, you cannot go to Heaven. This is absolute. The festival of the blessing should be 12 times, 120 times, 1,200 times, 12,000 times better than the festivals of the fallen world. Without much indemnity, you cannot receive the blessing. You received the blessing for free so you think that it is free. You must offer up your nation and your tribe. You have to deny yourself.
Do not forget what I have said. My desire is that you all become families that receive this blessing! [Amen!] Not Amen. Mansei! [Mansei!]
