These excerpts from Father’s speech have been translated from the transcript of the recorded words of True Father at the Pal Jeong Shik ceremony (The 13th Celebration of the Ceremony of the Eight Stages) on August 31st, in heju international training center Korea.
From now on, you should not distinguish between people by nationality. You should be able to see them as your own family members regardless of racial and national differences. Those who are blessed in this new age cannot just belong to a nation that began with Satan. Germans are not Germans; they are family members from Germany. They are your brothers and sisters. Do you under-stand? [Yes.]
Unificationist brothers and sisters must not see brothers and sisters from Japan just as Japanese, but they should be able to see them as heavenly family members who happen to have been born in Japan. The same goes for Russians and Americans as well. You should call them brothers and sisters from Russia or America. You must not l acknowledge Satan’s national boundaries.
The heavenly nation, one world, is not yet realized. If you distinguish between your brothers and sisters solely by nationality and do not truly see them as your family members, you are admitting the fact that you still belong to the satanic world. Do you see my point? [Yes.] The world must not be divided by national boundaries. Only because the world is still satanic do people differentiate one person from another by nationality. We must see the world as one nation, one world under God. We are all in the same blessed family.
What do you call the rite of giving holy wine to a fetus in a mother’s womb? It is a rite of rebirth. Those who go through the rite of rebirth within the womb must go through the rite of revival at kindergarten age, middle or high school age. After going through the rites of rebirth and revival, the next level of blessing is the rite of eternal life. [In Korean, Father uses the words Joongsaeng-shik, Buhwal-shik and Yeongsaeng-shik] All three stages of the blessing should have been accomplished. The thing is that you did not fulfill your responsibilities. Because your country (Korea) did not fulfill its responsibility, the entire providence was prolonged. Because, thanks to God’s blessing, we see the world as one centering on blessed families there cannot be differences between Germany, England, Japan, Korea and so forth. Centering on God, we should not call our brothers and sisters from Germany “German” but simply our “brothers” or “sisters,” or “family members.” We can call them “German brothers or sisters,” but the center should not be their nationality but rather the blood lineage we share thanks to the blessing. You are all real brothers and sisters who have the same Parents-God. The question you must ask yourselves is how you will have a brotherly heart towards all the people in hell when you go to the spirit world. Hell should not remain hell forever.
When you look at hell, you must have enough compassion to see the people there as your own family members or relatives whom you must liberate. In the same way that you take care of your family members-your parents, your brothers and sisters, your grandparents, your children and grandchildren-you must take care of those in hell. Think of them as members of your extended family. You, who have served God on earth, must work hard to create the unified heavenly kingdom when you go to the spirit world. You should ask someone where he is from not because he looks different but simply because you live in different places. The answer should not be that he is German or any other nationality. If the answer is “I am German” or “I am Korean” or “I am Japanese,” they are not acting as blessed family members. Every single country in this world was created by Satan. From now, we must create heavenly families centering on God with all our hearts and be the people of the one world of the godly kingdom on earth and in heaven.
We are progressing towards fulfilling the goal of the Pal Jeong ceremony. It has been thirteen years. It is now the age of God’s kingship. Eight months have passed since the establishment of His kingship. Because it is time for you to return to your hometown, starting today, as August ends and September begins, the satanic world can be defeated. Because now the satanic world and the world of nature have been dominated, those of you who received training this time must go back to where you came from and teach people about nature as nature’s true masters. That is the main purpose of the workshop this time.
When you talk about the way of God’s will, you should understand that it is not someone else’s way, but yours. It’s not just Father’s but really yours. Your will. Do you under-stand? [Yes.] You should now be able to cross the boundaries made at the time of restoration through indemnity. Boundaries and environments are changing. You should not have as many boundaries as you used to have. Nothing should be able to stop you from going anywhere in the world. You can go anywhere freely with brotherly love and on behalf of True Parents. You have entered that kind of time zone. With that in mind, the blessed families should have one unified heart. Only then, can you inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. Only then can you be sons and daughters of God.
Through the ceremony of the eight stages, I completed the vertical and horizontal eight stages all together. Although I have purged the environment, those of you holding on to that will have a different direction from God in the spirit world. The angle of the sunlight at noon is ninety degrees. If you have an even slightly different angle from that ninety degrees, you may end up very far away from the original point. That means if you have a different angle from the main providence, your families will end up too far away from God to meet Him directly even in the spirit world. Therefore, I advise you to gather your wits before it’s too late. The purpose of all the proclamations we have made was to hold the ceremony for God’s coronation so that we can be patriots, saints and holy people in His kingdom. To realize His hope we had to prepare a foundation to establish His kingship. Now, the King (God) has to be born again; the King of true filial piety, the King of true patriotism, the King of true sainthood, the King of true holiness and the King of true divinity. Because of the fall, the Creator, God, became the God of sorrow, but now He is the victorious God who has successfully completed. the restoration providence. Only on the foundation made by successful restoration, can His kingship be established.
The Pal Jeong Ceremony was to have been the procedure to establish His kingship, but it has been an obstacle. Based on the Pal Jeong ceremony, the following day (September 1, 1988) was the declaration of the Realm of the Ideology of Heavenly Father (Cheon Bu Ju-eui), which came into existence for the first time in history centering on the new kingship.
You have learned Unification Thought and the Principle. You know the content of the providence of restoration. The next step is unifying the world of ideologies, the religious world, the world of media and the academic world. Through this workshop, I hope that you are better prepared to carry out your mission. Now, you must inherit God’s royal authority and become the victorious people to liberate God, the Parents of Heaven and Earth, and all the royal family.
So far, the Parents of Heaven and Earth have not been liberated. The right environment has not been prepared yet. To make the perfect environment, centering on the registered families, the Parents of Heaven and Earth should make complete unity with the second and the third generations. But where are the second and the third generations to work together? We simply do not have enough people, therefore, we cannot create one people and one world. You should not even speak of country names. Satan takes great advantage of people due to the divisions between different countries. Germany, France, Britain, the U.S.A. and the Soviet Union all took advantage of other countries in the name of their national interests. They have been slaves to Satan. They have even turned against religions. They have all embraced humanism, denied God and eventually fallen into the trap of seeking only physical pleasure. Materialists also deny God. With Liberation Theology, even religious people have pro-claimed that God is dead. We must untangle all these problems with our own hands. Do you understand?
We held the Pal Jeong ceremony after the Korean Olympics. The Olympics saw a division between the Western countries on the side of the United States and those on the side of the Soviet Union. At the Seoul Olympics, though, all the countries could come together in Korea. The most able athletes came to Korea and competed against each other as representatives of the Cain side. However, as representatives of the Abel side, our church missionaries came to Korea from their mission countries to support the athletes. They did the best they could to make the condition of loving their mission countries unconditionally. To support them I gave away a total of about 24 billion won worth of gifts to the athletes. As a result, many of the athletes said that they wanted to marry Korean people and stay in Korea for good. Some of them even gave me gifts of the medals they’d won.
I did what Korea as a nation could not do. Centering on the unifying point, we began with 160 families in 160 coun-tries. We put everything in the right order by going through the eight vertical and eight horizontal stages. We have not come this far easily. It took us twelve years. Now, we are making a new start with the ideology of Heavenly Father. We thought about holding this celebration in Kodiak, but we chose Cheju Island instead. At this time of year, there are not enough fish in Cheju, so many fishermen do not even go out to sea, but we caught many fish. Other fishermen came after us. It was very strange. Even yesterday, the weather forecast predicted that it would be stormy with a lot of rain and wind, but the sky was clear and there was a bright shin-ing moon as if to congratulate us on our cultural festival.
Wherever I go, things work out miraculously. When I was going to Alaska, people told me that I should not go there. I do not know whether God likes me or the place likes me or, maybe, the fish there like me. Somehow things worked out very well for me there, too. The environment seems to welcome me wherever I go. God pro-tects us. The realm of God’s liberation is at hand, thanks to His grace. You must be grateful.
Then how do we set up kingship? Do you understand the establishment of kingship? We can totally subjugate Satan. Are your minds and bodies saying 110″ or 11X”? [Teachers in Korea and elsewhere mark a student’s answer as correct with an 110″ and as incorrect with an 11X”] Aren’t your minds and bodies struggling? They are fighting right now. It means that your minds and bodies are saying “X.” You must tum the present situation upside down and downside up.
Because heaven is down, if you want to go to heaven, you must go down to the bottom. Humanity is situated where false love should change to true love and false lineage should change into true lineage. Everything should change. Those who create complete unity with God centering on true love must unify their minds and bodies and their families. If parents make complete unity with God, their children can only say 110.” There won’t be any X’s. Those families can create God’s nation. There will be always O’s in that world. You know yourselves the best. You know the right way to live.
Are your minds and bodies united? That is why you always have to welcome God, Jesus and the Second Corning into your lives. If you center your lives on the Second Com-ing, Jesus and God will naturally come into your lives; so will all humanity. Once you set up the right tradition, humanity will instinctively follow you to the original world. Just like all things change following the changing of the sun. All things in darkness will head toward the light naturally. Even if you do not try to live righteous lives, you may all of a sudden came to hate evil habits. You will simply become sick of evil. You will just hate drinking and all other evil practices.
When I eat rice, I can immediately tell if it has been pre-pared with a truly serving heart or not. My hand naturally knows and does not even go to food that was not prepared with the right heart. It just does not move. You may think that it is something I do consciously, but actually, that is not the case. My hand simply does not move toward rice that hasn’t been prepared by someone with a good conscience. Those who prepare my meals have noticed it for a long time. Things they’d buy with sincere a heart, I would eat enthusiastically, even if they were not especially well cooked. But if they’d cook something with the thought of wanting to give it to their mothers, fathers or husbands, I would not touch the food, even if it were cooked especially well. Isn’t that strange? But that is how my mind works. When I need to decide what I should do, I do not pray. I simply ask myself.
“Shall I go or not?” If it is the way to go, my mind will start before my body. That way, my mind sets the right direction for my body. That is the way you can also be protected by God, and every-thing somehow works out wherever you go. Do you understand? [Yes.]
As the Heavenly Father’s realm has been made real, it is time to save your relatives. Your relatives have opposed you until now. Your nations have opposed you. Formation stage! Growth stage!
Completion stage! Since we have reached the completion level, even if you accidentally fall from your bed and break your legs or even your skull, you can still go to heaven. God will fix you and send you there. So, what is there to worry about? Simply leave it all up to God. You must be the princes who can establish the realm of Heavenly Father’s kingship. From now, you must save your relatives. Invite your clan and hold a great feast for all of them, and then have them drink the holy wine and purify them with holy salt.
Sharing a holy meal, holy wine and holy salt is so much more precious than anything in the thousands of years of your entire ancestry. So you must determine that “not a soul from my clan should miss this, otherwise, they may end up at the bottom of hell.” Do you understand? [Yes.] …
Even those who are at the bottom of hell can be registered into the heavenly realm. You cannot exchange this opportunity with anything in the world, even with the world itself or the entire cosmos. It is that precious. So, are you going to do it or not? [We will!] …
When I met Gorbachev in the Soviet Union, I could see more clearly that the final obstacle for humanity is finding the quality of heart within oneself to love their enemy nations. God told us to love our enemies. Russians should marry Americans; Russians should marry Chinese; Russians should nations can create world peace in an instant. How should we teach people to do that? We should teach them about God and the Kingdom of Heaven. Then, there won’t be any problem. Am I right or wrong? [Right.] …
Why do we have five senses? They are for God! Why does God like us to have five senses? Because they are the foundation for us to find true love. When a man and woman come together, they can be one centering on their sexual organs, concave and convex; they fit perfectly. Wherever one goes, the other follows, even in death. Do you want to create such a bond of destiny with your spouse? [Yes!] …
Now the time during which Satan rules over the world based on the divisions between nations is coming to an end. Since God’s kingship has been established, we put Him as the first ancestor, Adam and Eve the second, and their descendants as the third, fourth, fifth, sixth … thousandth, ten thousandth … Likewise, there is only one way of going straight to the heavenly kingdom on earth and in heaven, one and only one tradition. That is the conclusion.
Our movement has faced opposition from society, but now we are to take responsibility for this area of a new direction within society. People have become fallen, maintaining history’s horizontal standard. Beginning within each family, we should help the fallen world set up the right tradition and standard to be God’s children. Vertically on behalf of God and horizontally on behalf of True Parents, we should help the world to build one nation of God with the ideal of the heavenly kingdom on earth and in heaven, an ideal in which equality and harmony for every individual and every family within that entire nation is forever protected. That is the perfection of the four-position foundation.
The perfection of the four-position foundation means the completion of three ages: those of the Old, the New and the Completed Testaments. Humanity did not have the right parents, ancestors, spouses or children. Only in the Completed Testament Age could we make the foundation for the right parents to live with us. We should be the ones who embody the essence of the common ideal of the Old, New and Completed Testament Ages and complete the four-position foundation, fulfilling the three-object purpose. If you set up the right tradition of God, He will want to come and live with you. The Messiah will want to come to you, too. Families of filial piety, of patriotism and of holiness will want to come to your family.
Members of central blessed families should have answers for the issues revolving around the relationship between parents and children, and between husbands and wives. Blessed families should complete the family ideals of the Old, New and Completed Testament Ages.
Originally, we were to be the central beings who took the straight road from the heavenly kingdom on earth to the heavenly kingdom in heaven. We were originally supposed to inherit ownership over the ideal nation and the world of eter-nity centered on the standard of mainstream families, tribes, nations and the world. The foundation for this was to have been blood relatives [ a tribe] and a nation. All these were lost because of the fall, therefore, the spirit world and the physical world are dysfunctional and disfigured. True Parents have to establish a model family and above that, have to expand that God’s most valuable assets are love, life and lineage. You must become the true self that has the same love as God’s love, the same life as God’s life, the same lineage as God’s lineage. You must know that, as a subject centered on God’s love and blood lineage, you can stand as His equal from beginning to end with no difference in position.
The lineage is the thing. Love and life are only for one generation. Just for one generation. They pass. No matter how much a couple loves each other, their generation will pass away someday. However, their children are connected to them by blood, and their children’s children-on down through the generations, it will continue forever. Whether or not the children go up or down from the standard their parents established is a very serious matter. In the world of love, truth and true lineage, people want others, especially their children, to be better than themselves.
When you plant a seed, you do not expect to harvest only a single fruit from it. More is always better. Farmers expect to see ten times, a hundred times, or, if possible, one thousand times return in terms of fruit from the seed they have sown. Based on your blessed families, you will have descendants one thousand and ten thousand generations from now. Can you be really sure all the things you determine here and now will remain unchanged even a thousand generations from now? Can your descendants of a thousand generations from now be exemplary representatives of the main path to heaven? When you really think about it, isn’t it a serious matter? …
In the library, there are documents opposing God and the Unification movement. What did they oppose us with? They did not oppose us as individuals, but did so wielding nation-al authority. They oppressed and cheated us. All the tragedies though history perpetrated by dictators were enacted with national authority. After the end of World War II, the newly-established United Nations went beyond national-level interests. So did communism. Communism was based on the idea of one world. It’s ideal was actually beyond that of the UN.
The first thing we have to do is to set up a nation. Global communism fell to the national and then the tribal level in front of Reverend Moon. Democracy has also fallen from the worldwide ideal to the national level. They are supposed to go down like that. The national level ideal should be achieved by the establishment of a nation and the ideal of one world then inherited. To do that within the religious sphere we should proclaim Godisrn, the absolute truth, which opposes communist materialism. We should teach people the truth so that we can establish a period of paying back our enemies, not with hatred and vengeance, but by embracing them with true love. We must set up that kind of tradition. For the sake of that very undertaking, we have endured for so long.
What we absolutely need is proper families. What is next? Your nations. Your nations are in fact God’s enemies. Your nations hurt God in the name of national interests. Your nations did not hesitate to make others bleed and to reject them for the sake of your national interests. Your nations planted the seed of hatred in the world. All the things piled up in your national museums are proof for your nations’ evil crimes. Do you think God wants to see such historical records of having shed blood? Regardless of national boundaries, people should voluntarily follow. The Germans, the British, the French, the Italians, the Americans should all volunteer to be the representatives of God. That way, any trace of Satan will be done away with in this world eternally and completely.
From this point of view, we obviously need good families, moreover, a good nation. We also need to make a strong tie with the UN. I founded IIFWP and WANGO. I have made all the conditions. Now, you have to study how to win the final battle. In a court of law, attorneys win by successfully persuading jurors or judges. Likewise, you must successfully persuade the world, as the best lawyers would do.
Therefore, you must clearly understand the satanic tradition of the evil world, and the heavenly tradition of the good world and testify in front of Satan, “Because you are a betrayer of history and have blocked humanity from going the righteous course, you are clearly in the position of the archenemy of God’s providence.” However as God is one who loves even His enemies, He has emphasized the idea of intermarrying between those from enemy nations or groups. From this, the heavenly kingdom of peace, the earthly kingdom of peace that no one can touch, the world of the heavenly kingdom of unification will come about. Amen? [Amen.] …
Today, we are celebrating the Pal Jeong Shik holy day. The vertical eight stages of individual, family, clan, tribe, nation, world, cosmos and God are the eight stages. Humanity has lost the vertical center. It is indeed amazing that we have established the realm of one heart that can combine all the different stages of individual, family, clan, tribe, nation, world, and cosmos despite the fact that they are not really united as yet. On the day following Pal Jeong Shik, I pro-claimed the Realm of the Ideology of Heavenly Father at the time of the Seoul Olympics. It was a very serious time ….
Your families have destinies. Whether you want it or not, the task of persuading inhospitable nations and the world to welcome God’s way is on your shoulders. Do you understand that clearly? [Yes, we do.] Do not become hypocritical leaders. How many times should you cause God to cry over you? If I cry, God cries with me. Is there any way for me and for you to run from our destinies? None! If I want to give my life, I should either go to the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean or to Mt. Everest in the Himalayas. I could not think of doing it in any lesser place. I think I could do it in those places because I think God could not catch me there. That is how I think. With such a desperate mind, I pioneer the way.
You frauds! You should be 100 percent pure gold, but you wouldn’t even qualify as copper! You couldn’t qualify as silver slurry or even steel!. .. You must absolutely practice the Family Pledge! You must absolutely become true parents. You must put down roots of absolute true love, true life and true lineage. If you put down roots, the central root grows out connecting to the central bud that helps the tree grow straight up for thousands of years. Even if you cut all the branches from that strongly and deeply rooted tree, the branches will grow back every year. The essential thing is the central root, the central trunk and the central bud. For you to be in the center you must always educate yourselves to have true faith and conviction.
You must arm yourselves with the Principle. With it you have the central root, central trunk and central bud that can embrace the philosophies of the world. When spring comes-spring will come for the Unificationist community-all the branches connected to that center will bloom and eventually create an evergreen garden. When the time comes, the Principle should be able to absorb everything. When I need to, I will cut those falsely grown branches of yours. I will cut your branches and graft on a healthy one. That is, in fact, the blessing. You should bless your living relatives going back three generations. First, you should bless your brothers and sisters, then your fathers and, lastly, your grandfathers-symbolizing the perfection of the Old, New and Completed Testament Ages. That is how you can be messiahs for your own families. You can be true parents, that way. Do you understand? Without unifying families, nations and the world, we can never purge Satan from this world. How can you build God’s temple in Satan’s garden? You tell me. How can you build God’s home if it is filled with Satan’s dirt and bloodstains? You must clean all that up.
In the spirit world, the patriots, saints and holy people are called German patriots or German saints and so forth. Satan says, “Thank you” for that. Because people are evaluated and blessed after being sorted out by nationality, which is Satan’s creation, he’s thankful. Satan should be disassociated from every nation’s culture, heritage, legacy and land as soon as possible. God needed to solve all the ideological questions by teaching us the new truth. All previous teachings came to be hindrances after some period of time. Therefore, they should be cleared away and let go of. You need Unification Thought. You also need to understand Godism and Adamism ….
Why do you need a family? Everyone needs a place in which to settle. Why do you need a nation? For the same rea-son that you need a family. You need to know the Unificationist ideology-that is, God’s providence for salvation-and V.O.C. theory to save the world and to create a new history. People should naturally surrender to the Principle and sort out their own lives for themselves. If we do it for them, they will feel ashamed. This world has to be cleaned up. People must put God’s word first to create a unified culture and eventually a unified world. Only then can the heavenly kingdom of liberation on earth and in heaven be actualized.
What is the biggest problem we have? The biggest problem in establishing God’s kingship is to keep our blood lineage pure. Once you are married, the most important value you should have is fidelity. What is the second most important value? [Human rights.] The equality of all people, brotherly love between different races. There cannot be racial discrimination in God’s Kingdom. The white, black and yellow races split apart from Noah’s family. Noah’s three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth were the first ancestors of the three different races. The three different races were and are, in fact, direct brothers. You are all brothers and sisters from the same parents. To find your forgotten hometown, you must first recognize your own brothers. You must also recognize who your ancestors are. Don’t you think so? Saint Paul did not know that God was his Father and that all humanity must unify into one with the same blood lineage. That was the reason he had to suffer so much in his life. Everything is simple in the next world. It is our destiny to be with God as our Parent in true love, true life and true lineage. You need to know this.
The question you must ask yourself is how much you really feel the sorrows of God and True Parents in your heart and bones in your daily life. When you epitomize God’s word, the final and the most important message is the Total Living Offering.
What it indicates is that you must deny everything of yourselves. Do you know what I am talking about? We have entered the realm of the Total Living Offering. That is why you should never characterize your own brothers and sisters by nationality. There cannot be a Japan or Japan-ese people. Japan owns nothing of this world. It is a big problem if you go to the spirit world without having done the Total Living Offering. I announced this quite some time ago. Delaying for months and months is a big problem. You might lose many hundreds or thousands of generations in the spirit world. Do you understand, you miscreants? [Yes.] I raised hundreds of billions of won to save this world, but I have nothing of my own ….
Do we need a nation or not? [We need one.] Those scoundrels who think we do not need a nation should stand up. You rascals! Does the Unification movement own a nation? Do you have a nation? It has been publicly stated that Korean reunification won’t take place without Reverend Moon. Even the North Koreans know that. They are making great effort not to lose their hold on me.
Does Japan need me or not? [It does.] Do Europe and the Americas need me or not? [They need you.] I can go on with-out Japan. The time has now come. The time of restoration was the time of mother and son cooperation but now is the time of father and son cooperation. The providence can move forward without the mother. There are many countries that can take the woman’s role. Just in the Pacific there are about sixteen island nations. Any one of them could replace Japan. Without the Eve nation, Japan, if we have three nations’ cooperation as three daughter nations, we won’t have any problem liberating the world.
What are we going to do now? We are going to repair the sorrowful history of Satan’s world. There is surely nothing we cannot do when we gather our strength. You have the task of realizing God’s realm of liberation in my own lifetime, within a few years. I have proclaimed that before 2004 we must consolidate our movement and be able to educate people to save the nation. Are you going to complete the task or not? [We will complete it.] To complete the task, you must really arm yourselves with the Principle, V.O.C. theory and Unification Thought. I am planning to have university presidents gather professors to carry out campaigns against secular ideologies.
You have to be capable enough people to beat the known ideologies and philosophies of the world. You must beat them logically. About a week before Christmas, I will test you. Those who do not pass the test, no matter how high the per-sons’ educational level is, will be left out of the Unification movement leadership. Do you know about anointing ambassadors of peace? [Yes.] You must educate those ambassadors.
Who should educate politicians? I will have you educate those people. The upper class and the lower class in society should not struggle against each other but harmonize within an absolutely unified realm. Once the unified realm is completed in this nation, inevitably, we will go on to the world, to unify it. We should prepare for that future. Transcending the barriers between religions and nations-and then what? Working on the trans-global level. That is the final step. I need you to educate people.
From now on, I will invite graduates from the University of Bridgeport and Sunmoon University to earn degrees in theology. For four years, students can work toward double degrees, in their original majors and theology. I feel urgent to raise people to be world leaders. So I have no choice but to ask you to do the job. By Christmas this year, you should pass my test with a minimum score of eighty. Do you think I should do these things or not? [You should.] I started two months ago. Those of you who want to take part in this should remain seated and those who do not, stand up …. The only one standing up is me! [laughter]
It is really true. The time has come. You really have to be awake now. The time will come when we will teach our Unificationist ideology to people at Tokyo University and other well-known universities. Are you going to give lectures to people then or are you going to listen to the lectures given? Do you think you should prepare yourselves for that time or not? [We should prepare ourselves.] Even a dog in this town would want to give the lectures on Victory over Communism, Unification Thought and the Principle, if it could understand what I am saying. Are you better than a dog or not? [Yes, we are.] Dogs smell like dung. They quickly pick up smelly things. But you should be dogs that are very fast in picking up the good stuff and that smell good. Do you understand what I am trying to tell you?
