Father’s speech on October 3, 2000 at the training center in Sutaek-ri, Korea
What day is it today? [The Foundation Day for the Nation of the Unified World.] What world? [Unified world.] The Unified World has begun. Heaven and earth has opened up. Then the world of peace should come; the world of joy should come.
It has been twelve years since I proclaimed this day. Twelve years ago, right after the Seoul Olympic Games. The Seoul Olympic Games can be considered the northern Olympics and those in Sydney this time, the southern Olympics. They parallel each other.
When I spoke at the UN, I said the UN should be centered on the unification of heaven and earth. The UN is lost and is just moving without any sense of direction. If it continues to go that way, there is no turning back. They are heading for a dead end.
Since I ought to teach them the right way, I had to speak at the UN. What I told them was that we should break down national boundaries and create a world of peace. Our world is the way it is because of national boundaries. In order for this world to end, national boundaries should be broken down.
Today is the Foundation Day for the Nation of the Unified World. It is celebrating the day that we can pass through heaven and earth without any doors closed before us. What it means is that we are celebrating the day to come when we can freely go anywhere in the world without any national boundaries.
What do you think is the fundamental force of the entire cosmos? You need to understand this. Didn’t Lee Sang-hun say? His wife met him after the eight years of separation. So they put on their best ceremonial gowns and greeted each other before God. What did they do after that? Did they dance around or make love?
What do you mean by making love? Does it mean kissing or saying hello to God? Do you think they had clothes on when they made love or didn’t have any clothes on? Did Adam and Eve have their clothes on before the fall? Did they have any concept about having clothes on before the fall or not? Then what? They lived naked and they were supposed to love naked. In the most intimate moment between a man and woman, do they have their clothes on? I don’t know. (laughter) So, do people have clothes on when they make love or not? There are no borderlines necessary between a man and a woman in love. Eternally, absolutely, uniquely, unchangingly there is no need for borderlines in true love. That is true love.
A man symbolizes bones and a woman flesh. Therefore those two should be together. They can stick together by a glue called love. There is a Korean song that says, “We receive bones from our fathers and flesh from our mothers.” God is the invisible model for human beings. God is like the bones and human beings are like the flesh. How can God and human beings stick together? By love. Only love can unify anything.
Is it good or bad to love? There is circular movement when things are good. A man and a woman together can make a circle. A man is a half and a woman is the other half. Those two halves together can make a whole circle. That is why a man and a woman are created as convex and concave—to fit together as one.
Mother told me, “What you have been saying all these years is truly right. I never knew that our grandchildren would be so lovely.” Whenever we return home, we ask, “Is so-and-so in?” and the little ones stagger toward us. Then True Mother immediately embraces and kisses them. When I see them like that, I think to myself, “I wish she could be like that with me, too…” (laughter)
When people reach their eighties, they can have Alzheimer’s disease and forget everything they knew. However, they do not forget those they love the most. They may forget their spouses but remember their grandchildren. Those who receive love from their grandparents are the happy ones. Those who never receive love from their grandparents are unfortunate grandchildren and unfortunate people! Those who receive love from their grandparents have a better chance of becoming people of integrity.
When there is an elderly couple, would it not be better for their son and his wife to live together with them? Would it not be much better if their grandchildren live with them, too? That is family. Three or four generations living together can create a happy family.
What is it that you cannot have alone? You cannot have absolute love without any reciprocal relationship. You cannot give or receive love alone. The best, unchanging, eternal thing to give and receive is absolute love. You need to be qualified to give to and receive love from God who is absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal.
Do you think God can see love or not? Have you thought about it? Do you think some kind of light appears when God loves something or somebody? What do you think?
Only when you have a son, can you experience love for a son. Only when you have a daughter, can you experience love for a daughter. You need to have an object of love.
Who are True Parents? Say it. My Mom and Dad. Who are your parents? [My Mom and Dad.]
What I need to do is to show the way of a true parent, true teacher and true king. I ought to establish a family, find a nation and win over the world. In other words, I have to restore elder-sonship, parentship and kingship in my life. I have to offer the entire human history of thousands of years before God.
But my family broke apart before realizing the family ideal. Because established Christianity in Korea did not fulfill its responsibility, Korea was divided and my family broke apart, too. Because the providence centered on Sung-jin’s mother broke apart, my family broke apart and the tragic history of divorce became unavoidable. So I had to restore it again. I found a new mother fourteen years after the divorce. And I had to spend the forty years until 1995 restoring the family providence. Do you understand? Just as Moses started his mission when he was eighty years old, I have cleared up the spirit and physical worlds in my eighties. Now Satan cannot oppose me.
An education program will start on the 10th centered on the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace. The IIFWP represents God. God transcends religions and nations. The Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace is centered on Unification Thought and will educate people .
We should be able to go anywhere in the world. In order for that to happen, we should break down national boundaries. In the world without any national boundaries, blessed families must go everywhere in the world to educate people. I prepared this day twelve years ago for the sake of such a liberated world. With gratitude for the time of settlement during which we can practice our ideals, I established this day of celebration! Amen!
