On May 2, 1999 at East Garden, Father spoke and gave directions to leaders from all international organizations, the church and related organizations based in the United States. The following are excerpts from Father’s internal guidance.
We are going the way of a religious life, a style of life that goes against the nature of things. Because the world is going against the good way of life, the purpose of a religious way of life is to change it into a good one.
All religious people go through indemnity. In this life, we cannot say let us pay 80 percent of the indemnity. It doesn’t work that way. The amount of indemnity which all of us are required to bear and pay is greater than that which we need to change. We therefore see that the typical way of life of good people is one of paying indemnity.
The complete destruction of evil
The secret God has taught us about how to indemnify a great evil is that we must pay or offer a great condition of indemnity, such as loving one’s enemy. This is extremely difficult to do, but God taught us to do this so that we can pay the indemnity instantly. By loving the enemy we destroy evil from its root, not just partially.
Satan will continue to demand even the smallest condition of indemnity. When paying indemnity for personal reasons, for example, and we say, “I will pay this much indemnity,” it doesn’t work. When that is over you will have another problem to face. We should be determined and ready to pay unlimited indemnity in our life, however much is required of us. We will see then that not only on a personal level but on higher and higher levels we will be right with God.
We will be restored through paying indemnity. But look at the concept of liberating God. Liberating God is not a matter of setting a condition—it goes beyond that. To liberate God we need to be prepared to pay any amount of indemnity, not only in our life here on earth but continuing in the spirit world. God and Father have shown you many secrets in how to successfully do that. God knows that Satan cannot catch up with Him. God is always bigger, greater and faster. Therefore, when we unconditionally live a life to liberate God and are prepared for that absolute leap, that is the best way to offer indemnity. Indemnity is a very sad and fearful thing. We therefore want to go beyond the realm of indemnity. The way we can do so is by loving God and doing as He does. When we are prepared to pay an unlimited amount of indemnity, then we will be free, and no further indemnity will be necessary.
Satan demands certain conditions of indemnity, and God understands that. Therefore God follows the path of indemnity Satan has demanded of Him. When we are free of all the indemnity demanded by Satan, that is when the indemnity will end. It requires an overflowing sort of indemnity. But once we do that in God’s true love so that Satan cannot follow, we enter a realm that is beyond the realm of the fall. Through true love we live the kind of life that is above the realm of the fall. While we are still within the realm of the fall there will be different kinds of indemnity demanded, but when we jump beyond that with true love and live the original way of life, no indemnity is necessary. This is the best way to get rid of indemnity.
What is the position of God when He has been liberated? It is where God can love fallen mankind as if we were not fallen. That means bringing him up beyond the realm of the fall to the original position of love. To restore himself, an individual must liberate his surroundings, such as his clan, his nation and all higher levels. When he tries to do that Satan will follow, but he knows he cannot catch up. Such a person is moving faster than Satan. That is the only way to be free of indemnity forever.
God wants to liberate fallen man, and must bring him to the highest level of heart in the ideal of creation. In front of such a subject, that individual becomes completely united based on absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience. Satan cannot come near.
So how could Father liberate everyone in the spirit world? Because of the fall, the spirit world came to consist of paradise, the middle realms, hell and so forth. Originally, however, there would have been no concept of these. Instead of paying indemnity on each level, True Father jumped over those levels to the world level. Centering on a love that could transcend those levels, the highest level of love in the fallen world, from the cosmic standpoint he set the condition for each level. Satan could in no way object to this. If a condition were to be made at each level, Satan could maybe follow, but because many levels were jumped over, Satan could not follow. I am thus cleaning up the individual and family, establishing blessed families worldwide and controlling the spirit and physical worlds as I desire, bringing them into unity. We can say to Satan, “If you want to go to hell, then go; if you want to go to heaven you can go there.” Satan has to reluctantly follow Father if he is to exist. There is one part of God’s love Satan could not receive. He must now follow behind humankind. However much heaven and earth are centering on the original standard of love, then, accordingly, Satan cannot object. God can liberate him. God is therefore inevitably liberated Himself. Even if God were to treat True Parents as older brother and sister or as Father and Mother, Satan could not object.
Satan is always following in God’s wake and continuing to demand indemnity, but that is a separate realm. I am going forward, using the principle of God, and God is following right behind me. I am going forward in such a way that if Satan follows behind me he finds himself in the position of receiving the benefit of what I do, rather than accusation. And so does God, who wants to have great results. It is a situation through which God can truly be liberated, because now there is nothing he can do, because Father does it. It becomes possible therefore for me to lift up those who are in hell to a position where the fall did not take place. When this happens, Satan wants to receive the benefit too. By law God has to love the perfected Adam, so the whole problem will have been solved.
Because of God’s love, there is so much I can do now, far beyond the realm of indemnity. Many tears have been shed, also. To shed tears is to pay indemnity, but God Himself was not able to shed tears for His own liberation, whereas I have done so, as have others. In conclusion, once you jump beyond the realm of the fall, indemnity no longer exists.
We are in the realm beyond the fall
Yet because there are conditions of the fallen realm remaining, both God and Satan are caught up. Perfected Adam has prevailed over the realm of the fall. The Completed Testament Age, reaching beyond the family embodying the highest ideal of the blessing, is launching the universal, victorious family foundation. Satan’s world therefore has no further condition. If Father stands on a victorious standard, one with Christianity, he has no relationship with the fall. But as the global reach of Satan’s realm has ended, you have had to pioneer anew.
The providence of salvation is not for the individual but for the family. Because the blessing has been given centering on the standard of perfected families, when the Unification Church reaches uniformity in the heart of love internally, Satan cannot stand in the way.
As the spirit world can bring equality in value in all directions, and because heaven and earth are beginning the perfected ideal and a world of love, this is the realm of liberation of the Kingdom of God in heaven and earth. As the standard enabling all people to make a new start in the Kingdom of God in heaven and on earth has been established, Satan cannot accuse. The responsibility of the Unification Church is therefore very great. Re-creation must occur centering on perfected Adam and Eve. The ideal of the perfected family is the ideal of the universe. Centering on the realm of the ideal of the universe, Satan’s realm cannot be renewed.
The path I have trodden took me through such pain that even God bowed down before me. I established enough conditions of indemnity for 400 million couples, just enough to bring everyone else up above the realm of the fall. That is how this is possible now. We have social problems such as those among young people. I am now beginning the un-fallen, ideal family dispensation, going beyond the realm of the fall. The youth problem that is now plaguing the entire earth can be instantly solved, just as electricity travels in a fraction of a moment. When God is present and Satan can be dealt with, these social problems can be solved so easily. This is what is really occurring right now. It will make us dizzy even just to imagine the speed at which this works. It is based on the complete indemnity I have established in my life, which is now bearing fruit.
The world order is greatly changing. Chunji kaebyuk. It means heaven and earth will open up again, suddenly and unpredictably. This contains an element of turning upside down. Our ancestors of many generations ago are now the descendants of many generations, and we who are the descendants of many generations can become the ancestors of so very many people. This is exactly what is happening. As Father explained to us, we are in the realm beyond the fall. But look at us; what are we doing? Since we lack imagination and a correct understanding of Father’s teaching we are looking down at the earth just as we have been doing for thousands of years, like a worm. But we are not worms, we are human beings; and not just any human beings, but restored human beings. That is our value: restored Adam’s position—that of an ideal human being before the fall. I want to take this ideal family to the level of the world, overnight. We see the kind of position we are in, so we should never behave or think as we did last year, or four thousand years ago, or at any time in human history, because we are now on the plane of a totally changed world.
Heaven has been empty, but Father is filling it up instantaneously with the original value of creation. Comparing what we can be and what we are in Father’s mind, and what we are in our mind, there is the difference of heaven and earth. Once we understand God’s standard we understand. We have to realize that, even though we may feel bad in the moment, we can leap up to being a heavenly creation. I have outfitted you with such fantastic clothing and an armament of love. God can look and say, “Hmm, he used to be a fallen object but now somehow he is so much better, even, than before he fell.”
Father is repositioning us. No one knows the moment when Father will finalize this, but when he does, we will be lifted a million times higher. But then if we miss out, Father cannot wait for our schedule. He has to go by his own schedule which we must follow. We must change instantaneously.
Everything originally belongs to God
These lands, your belongings, your own children, are these really your own in the sight of God? The earth, property and children all belong to God first—as does your history, your nation and all the ancestors in the spirit world. And then you say you do not want to give these up? The big conglomerates and corporations here in America also, whom do they belong to originally? [God.] This land which we think is mine is not at all—it is God’s first. If God gives it to us, yes, it is ours, but not until then. God is the absolute owner, of which there can eternally be only one, not two. Is that true? Who caused you to think otherwise? Satan, who divided this world into many countries. Everything belongs originally only to God, and now, after having fallen under the worst of parents is being restored by True Parents. There is the starting point of a new Kingdom of Heaven both on earth and in the spirit world.
We have to brace up and be really attentive and serious. You can imagine the kind of hellish life Father had to go through here in America. Even in East Garden, Father experienced more sadness and suffering than happiness. You have to be careful and attentive. It is as if you are all prisoners of war, the prisoners of Satan, damaged beyond repair. But as soon as I lift you up you discard your old skin and kick it away without any regret. This is our way of receiving liberation also. Father has a clear idea of how it will work, but we just hang on to something of very little value and totally miss the greater value. Only the person of faith can understand.
How can South and North Korea be unified? Why is it so important? It is important because world unification is at stake. It cannot be accomplished through their fighting one another. Father has a clear idea and plan for how it can be done naturally and peacefully. Because of the suffering True Parents have endured, which no one can understand or imagine, this is now becoming possible in the sight of God.
Do you think I am truly happy to see your faces every morning? It is as if you are the sashimi from Satan’s dinner table. How can I be happy looking at you? You can understand the way it should be. God has never seen the individual heaven, or the family or clan heaven and so forth. Now God is about to see all these at once. That is what Father is working towards. (Applause.)
How difficult do think it is to unify the spirit world? Can anyone imagine? Yet you can feel the change that has taken place in the spirit world since last year. The unification of religions can only be achieved by all of the spirit world coming down and working with us. The unification of religions means the unification of the world. Will we need religion any more in the future? Every moment of the day we should desire the ideal world, leaving this world behind with no regret. The savior who is to come again can do this. He would want to do it overnight. The spirit world recognizes True Parents now.
You received grace yet continue to have problems, so I have continued to shed tears and tried to patch you up. Do you think I have to do that forever? [No.] God is in a position to say, “Why don’t you forget about that section which has to fall with the old world?” But it is up to True Father. If the True Father wants to save every one of you, God has to do it. The future of all humankind will be decided within the next two decades, based on the perfection of Adam and on his establishing the Kingdom of Heaven on earth and in the spirit world.
You may want me to be with you forever, but have you stopped to think how much the spirit world is coveting True Father? They really want to have me around just as much as you do. Even more.
I am adamant in front of God, saying, “It’s up to me if I want to save them.” It is my prerogative. This is how I endured the most unendurable pain during my lifetime. In Moses’ time the people created idols. That is what you are doing now, isn’t it? Material things are your idols. Anything apart from God and True Parents is an idol. Moses was so indignant that he broke the tablets. Don’t think I never had the same kind of anger—not only once, but many times, and even more intensely. I was always successful in controlling it, however.
I have had no family life but have devoted everything to each one of you, totally neglecting and ignoring my own family. I also lost Korea while attending to America.
I am revealing everything to you, reserving nothing. Human beings cannot live individually. We all must have God as our source. We have to remind ourselves strongly of this now.
The position of Adam and Eve before falling was that to make God the owner of love: of children’s love, brotherly love, conjugal love, parents’ love, grandparents’ love, king’s love. But God could not realize that ownership. Father has to clean up everything on this earth. How can I return ownership of everything that was lost to God? Without a partner—an object being—God cannot take the position of owner of love.
Love between two is absolute. It cannot change or go another course. Once you are blessed, that is absolute. You must understand this deeply.
